Italian label Emporio Armani has chosen the 23-year-old songstress to front their new lingerie campaign.

She will appear in the autumn-winter 2012 underwear ad, replacing actress Megan Fox.

Gail Porter was photographed looking happy and relaxed as she stepped out in London last week following a week-long stint in rehab for depression.

The 40-year-old star, who is alleged to have attempted to commit suicide seven weeks ago, went for a casual look in a black vest top and jeans, teamed with huge sunglasses as she chatted on her mobile phone and enjoyed the sunshine.

And friends of the presenter's have said Gail is working hard to turn her life around after apparently being detained under the Mental Health Act and sent to rehab.

A source told Closer magazine: 'Gail is determined to be strong and turn her life around for her eight-year-old daughter Honey.

'Gail has battled depression, anorexia, self-harming and hair-loss condition alopecia for years, but now she wants to focus on all the positive aspects in her life and be the best mum she can be.

'She wants to draw a line under the past and start again with a clean slate. Her friends still worry about Gail's health but they are giving her as much support as possible.'

And despite the fact that Gail's boyfriend of two years, 25-year-old Jonny Davies, has apparently moved out of the house they shared, he has been working hard to nurse her back to health.

Porter has spoken openly about her mental issues, which have affected her throughout her adult life.

Following the birth of her daughter in 2003, Porter was diagnosed with post-natal depression. In addition, she was also diagnosed as being bi-polar in 2005.

Also in 2005 she had to have stomach pumped after overdosing on pills following the breakdown of her marriage to Honey's father, Toploader guitarist Dan Hipgrave.

At the time, she insisted it was a 'cry for help', not a genuine suicide attempt, and blamed taking herself off Prozac too quickly, saying: 'I didn't want to die. It was just a real cry for help, I felt so alone.'

She has also admitted to self-harming when she's feeling stressed, saying: 'I really needed to hurt myself. It was a sort of punishment.'

Gail added: 'When I felt overwhelmed, confused, more messed-up than usual, in my lowest moods I'd reach for the blade again.

'And again I'd have that strange reaction of relief and pain, always with a kind of self-loathing that seems to feed on itself.'

Now Gail is working hard to get back to normality and is hoping to return to work in the near future.

The source said: 'Gail is being so brave. She's such a bubbly and caring person, everyone just wants her to get better and back to work.'

But it looks like the French First Lady isn't hiding her burgeoning belly as she holidays with her husband Nicolas Sarkozy in the south of France.

On Sunday afternoon, the couple cosied up together on the beach and looked very affectionate.

After the Princess of Monaco tries to flee before tying the knot, women who DID pull out of their weddings tell their emotionally charged stories

'All I could think was that the wedding day would be perfect but the marriage could never work'
Sarah Donohue, 39, is a British powerboat champion and a fitness competitor. She lives in London and is single, having cancelled her wedding to Nick two years ago. She says:

My wedding was due to take place in August 2009, and as it got closer I became increasingly filled with doubt, to the extent that I wasn’t sleeping through worry.
I met Nick at the gym in 2006, and after a few months of friendship we started dating. He was good company, intelligent, happy and always smiling. Although three years younger than me, he had already forged a successful and lucrative career as a nutritional scientist and owned several health companies.
After six months of dating, he took me to meet his family who lived in Buckinghamshire. I was taken aback at how enormous their house was — Nick hadn’t let on at all that he was from such a wealthy family. It’s a discovery that would have made many women happy, but it made me very uneasy.
I grew up in Saddleworth on the Lancashire-Yorkshire border. I’m the daughter of a retired policeman and a teacher and had a very loving, middle-class upbringing. Nick, on the other hand, enjoyed an extremely privileged childhood as his father owned a number of major companies.
We’d been together for 18 months when Nick proposed on a weekend away. He produced a diamond ring, taking me completely by surprise as we weren’t even living together and had never discussed marriage.
I accepted his proposal because he was a lovely man, but I have to admit that I said yes with only 95 per cent of my heart. The other 5 per cent was wishing we’d spoken about marriage previously.
I kept telling myself I was lucky to have him and that any doubts were just natural. We immediately started planning our £50,000 wedding on Lake Como in Italy.

There was a boat to take us and our 40 guests out on the lake after the ceremony complete with a jazz band on board, and my mum and I had flown out to Italy to taste the food and wine for the wedding breakfast.
Invitations were posted and my bespoke wedding gown was ordered. We also bought a £1.15 million London home for when we were married.
In the middle of the frantic planning Nick told me he had fallen out with his mother, who thought I was not well-to-do enough to be marrying her son — she even commented on the fact that I’m Northern. This came on top of two of his siblings also being unpleasant to me, despite my making a huge effort with all of them.
My own family mean everything to me and I felt increasingly concerned about the prospect of being part of a family who weren’t like my own.
Three weeks before the big day all I could think was that the wedding day would be perfect but the marriage could never work. In tears, I confessed all to my parents, who told me I must cancel the wedding.

Nick’s parents were both ill at the time and, in the end, I chickened out a little by telling him we should postpone until they were in better health. It may sound awful, but it felt less final than telling him I couldn’t marry him at all — I loved him and didn’t want to hurt him. He was very upset but agreed.
Despite everything, we still flew out to Italy with four friends on the flights we’d booked for our wedding. We had a lovely time, even though there was sadness that the wedding hadn’t gone ahead.
Nick and I coasted along for another six months until it became clear that our relationship had run its course and we parted ways.
Even now, I get upset thinking about what happened and how hurt Nick was. But I know that it was the right decision. We were from two different worlds and could never have made each other happy long term.
'Cancelling the wedding was the best decision I ever made'
Melanie Taylor, 40, is a sales consultant who lives in St Albans, Herts, with her husband Matt, also 40, and their two children. She says:

Charles and I met in Paris, where I was studying at The Sorbonne. He was a banker, five years older than me, very confident, passionate and protective. I was a naive 21-year-old student away from home, and he took me under his wing and I, quickly, fell madly in love.
We’d been together for eight years when Charles proposed and presented me with the most gorgeous amethyst Cartier ring. All I could think was ‘Finally!’ and accepted immediately.
But as much as I loved Charles at the time, our relationship was far from perfect. He found fault with everything I did. He made nasty comments about my clothes and would imply that I wasn’t as intelligent as him.
His parents were even worse. His mother was Italian and had very traditional views on family life, expecting me to be the little wife at home, cooking and cleaning. She couldn’t understand why I’d want to pursue a career and not stay at home having babies.
Despite everything, I started planning our June wedding. It was to be a large affair with 300 guests — but we couldn’t agree on anything, from the venue to the food and guests. One day, we had the most almighty row in a car park and I stormed off.
The next night, there was a company do that I had to attend and as I sat at the bar feeling miserable, I got talking to Matt, who is now my husband. Nothing happened between us but we chatted very easily, had a few drinks and I came away thinking how nice it was to chat to a man who was interested in me and wasn’t continually judging or belittling me.
I really liked him, he was easy-going and made me feel great, but he had a girlfriend and I was getting married. I’d paid a deposit for my dress, the venue was to be a large mill in the countryside, and the invitations had gone out. But since the argument in the car I’d been full of doubt.
Four months before the wedding I went for a meal with Matt and we talked for hours. Although nothing happened, we admitted that we had feelings for each other. I knew then that I had to call things off with Charles.
The moment I’d said it, I felt relief. I knew it was the right thing to do. Charles was shocked and angry and asked if there was anyone else, but I denied it — at the time I really didn’t think Matt was the love of my life so I didn’t want to make Charles feel worse.
Charles snatched my address book and spent the next two hours calling all my friends, telling them that I was nasty, superficial and manipulative. I wanted to call them too, to give them my side of the story, but I knew he was hurting and left him to it. My own mother refused to speak to me. I think it was because she was embarrassed at having to tell many of her friends who were on the guest list that the wedding was off.
All our friends took Charles’s side; I was pretty much on my own. But I had Matt and he supported me through everything. Not long after my separation with Charles, he split up with his girlfriend and we became a couple immediately.
That was nine years ago and Matt and I have been together ever since. We had children first and then, three years ago, got married at a castle in the South of France with just 37 adult guests and their children. It was perfect.
Life with Matt is lovely. Charles and I would have ended up in the divorce courts, so cancelling the wedding was the best decision I ever made.
' I was plagued with doubts that just wouldn’t disappear'
Justine Hull, 37, is a public relations consultant and lives in Essex with husband John, 40, a farmer. Justine says:
John and I met 14 years ago in a local pub. He was a young farmer, bags of fun and I was instantly attracted to him. We were crazy about each other, but when he asked me to marry him after just three months I refused, saying it was too soon.
He proposed again six months later in Paris in August 1999 and this time I said ‘Yes’.
We planned to marry in October 2001, giving us time to save some money. But in June that year John was feeling very run down and we noticed he had lumps on his glands.

Thinking it must be glandular fever, he eventually had some blood tests. We were devastated to discover he actually had leukaemia and the consultant was unable to say if he’d live.
It was a hideous time of uncertainty, so we cancelled our wedding to focus on John’s health.
For a year he had chemotherapy and radiotherapy, then in September 2002 we got the news he was in remission, although he had to remain on chemotherapy pills for a further 18 months as a safeguard.
Early in 2003 we started planning the wedding again with a date set for October that year, and forged ahead with booking the church and reception venue. But despite being thrilled at John’s recovery I was plagued with doubts about the wedding that just wouldn’t disappear.
The leukaemia had traumatised both of us and, as you’d expect, it had changed John. I didn’t doubt my love for him, but I did doubt the timing of our wedding and felt we were rushing to try to make up for lost time.
Our relationship, though strong, had taken a good battering and was at an all-time low. One morning, two months before the wedding, we argued yet again and I told John that, as much as it broke my heart, we shouldn’t go through with the wedding until we’d had time to recover from what we’d been through.
We were both devastated and there were a lot of tears, but we knew it was the right decision. It actually confirmed to John that cancer had affected him mentally more than he’d realised.
Our friends and family were very upset too — they’d wanted us to have the happy ending after such a horrible few years. But they understood that we were traumatised by John’s illness and that we needed time to recover.
John and I simply had to get back on an even keel before we could marry. As a farmer, he was used to being physically strong and active. To have that stripped away by cancer and chemotherapy affected him mentally more than either of us had realised. It took a long time to build himself back up and, of course, we lived in constant fear that the leukaemia would return.
But we always believed that one day we’d get married. We hadn’t fallen out of love, we had just hit a big bump along the way and it knocked us back.
It wasn’t until early 2006, by which time we’d tackled the emotional impact of cancer, John was feeling much stronger and our relationship was back on track, that it finally felt right to plan our wedding for a third time. I remember taking my dress material down from the loft one day and thinking: ‘This is definitely it now.’
We married on September 23, 2006, in a very emotional ceremony. I remember John squeezing my hand very tightly, especially during the ‘in sickness and in health’ vows.
Everyone was so relieved that John had survived and we’d found happiness again. I have no regrets that I cancelled our second wedding. In the end, we married when it felt 100 per cent right for both of us.

Pippa, 27, was among the small gathering of devotees who turned up to watch Eton Ramblers, the club side of old Etonians who Loudon captains, beat the Old Eastbournians in the Cricketers Cup.

Some time around last Christmas, the 53-year-old television presenter addressed the impending matter of an encroaching midlife crisis by having two butterflies tattooed on her stomach. She really did.

What happened next? Well, obviously she popped into Claire’s Accessories for some Hello Kitty earrings and a glittery hair clip, then gave the bus driver a bit of cheek on the way home.

Come on. Grow up, Fern! You’re not Kelly Osbourne. You are lovely, bubbly Fern Britton, not gruesome, sour Fearne Cotton. You are a crystal glass of fine red wine to her plastic beaker of flat Red Bull. You are just not the tattooing type.

Yet while many women of a certain age might think that getting a tattoo is an incredibly doltish and teenage thing to do, Old Ferny is incredibly pleased with her new ‘tramp stamps’.

For her, they are a symbol of her intention to enjoy what she calls ‘a disgraceful middle age’. Oh dear. Good luck with that, Fern. Although I suspect it is something that can only end in tears.

In an interview with Woman And Home magazine published this month, the former daytime presenter showed off her new tattoos as proudly as a sheepdog that had just produced twin pups.

In the accompanying photographs, one butterfly peeps coyly out from beneath Fern’s crisp white shirt, like a shy insect hiding behind the curtain at the ugly bug ball.

We can’t see them both, but I like to imagine that Butterfly A and Butterfly B discreetly cover the entry and exit wounds left by Miss Britton’s infamous gastric band operation.

As we all know, Fern is not nearly as large as she once was.

Although it was embarrassing for her to have to admit that it was expensive surgery — not five minutes of skipping and the occasional packet of Ryvita Minis — that was responsible for her five-stone weight loss.

And I suspect that it is her declining weight rather than her advancing years that is really behind this giddy development.

Fern claims that she was initially inspired after reading that 64-year-old Felicity Kendal had a tattoo of a star on her foot and that the former Good Life actress was also planning some more.

Felicity, who also wears toe rings and still looks good in shorts, clearly has a lot to answer for.

Yet these butterfly tattoos are only the opening salvo in Fern’s desire to be disgraceful.

The star, who made a somewhat disastrous appearance on the BBC’s Question Time panel recently, is determined to embrace new challenges and admits that turning 50 was the catalyst for taking charge of her life in a new way.

She said: ‘At this chapter of my life, I have the pleasure of being “self-ist”’ — to do what I need without feeling guilty.’

However, she has admitted that her husband, the television chef Phil Vickery, was still ‘iffy’ about the tatts.

On the other hand, her children — she has 17-year-old twin sons and a 14-year-old daughter from her first marriage, and ten-year-old daughter Winnie from her second with Vickery — all think they look ‘cool’.

Do they really? I suspect they’re all glowing pink with radiation levels of embarrassment. For not only is Mummy tattooed, she shares too much about life with Daddy.

‘ “Do you fancy lunch?” And then we can go out together. Or go back to bed,’ reveals Fern. If I were a butterfly, I’d like to fly away now please.

Of course, this is Fern’s first ink, as they say in the business. And disgraceful or not, it is clearly what Americans call an attack of the ‘middle-aged crazy’; the female equivalent of a man buying a Harley Davidson motorbike or growing his hair long.

For Fern represents a growing trend for older women to throw caution to the wind, go utterly butterfly and get themselves tattooed — just for the hell of it. Just like film star Susan Sarandon.

In 2008, when she was 61, the star of Thelma & Louise suddenly appeared on the red carpet with two new tattoos; one on her wrist and one on her back.

They represented the initials of the three children she had with her long-term partner, Tim Robbins — and also a rather desperado stab at reclaiming her lost youth.

Of course, once upon a time, women over 50 were expected to do the decent thing.

Namely, fade quietly into the background and make a nice cup of tea, there’s a good dear. To turn grey without a murmur of complaint or recourse to the Clairol bottle. To complain gently about chilblains, the price of Steradent and take quiet pride in potting our sweet peas.

But really — is a tattoo the right way to go? I would argue that instead of being the inky epitome of middle-aged rebellion, tattoos are actually rather suburban.

Especially those rinky dinky little ones like Fern’s; those mimsy butterflies or honeybees or flowers that you can hide under a Per Una cardigan or a big pair of pants.

Surely all they do is illustrate a sickly girlishness rather than the imprint of a sophisticated older woman?

Tattoos have become so commonplace that even the Prime Minister’s wife has one. In fact, wholesome bore Jennifer Aniston has just had one done — in memory of her favourite pet dog, what a sap! — surely the ultimate kiss of death to any cool or edgy trend.

All I will say is this. Fern, if you want to grow old disgracefully, wear a ‘meat dress’ like Lady Gaga, run off to Ibiza with the housekeeping money, occasionally wear a handbag and shoes that — wait for it — do not match.

A pair of butterflies on your belly? I’m afraid that’s about as outrageous as an egg white omelette. You’ll have to do much better than that if you want to shock.

But millionaire singer Beyonce showed how down-to-earth she is as she popped into London's iconic department store Selfridges for a quick browse this afternoon.

Accompanied by her mother Tina Knowles and an entourage of minders, the 29-year-old headed straight for her favourite department - ladies' shoes.

Brooke Mueller has sparked speculation she is back on drugs again after she was photographed over the weekend with what looks to be a makeshift crack pipe.

Charlie Sheen's ex-wife has been in and out of rehab 15 times for drugs such as crack, cocaine and marijuana.

Her most recent stint in rehab - a 45-day outpatient program for drug and alcohol addiction - ended as recently as July 1.

The 33-year-old actress opted for an outpatient program in order to have access to her two-year-old twin sons Bob and Max.

She definitely doesn't look her best: her skin is sallow and her outfit of a baggy shirt, sweatpants and heels is, quite simply, a mess.

According to the documents, he insists that Live Nation told Beyonce that Mathew 'had stolen money from Beyonce on her most recent tour or otherwise taken funds that [he] was not entitled to.'

He continues to point out that Live Nation convinced Beyonce to have her law firm conduct an audit, and the law firm concluded that Mathew had indeed stolen money her, which prompted his dismissal.

Then, according to Mathew, the former Destiny's Child star hired a manager who had worked as a former executive at Live Nation and maintained a relationship with the company.

Ruderman is in prison for running a ponzi scheme that lost his clients approximately $25 million. Maguire is being sued by trustees for his winnings in the unlicensed poker games with Ruderman in an attempt to recoup the losses encountered by the criminal's clients.

The actor previously confessed to having earned $187,000 in winnings from the gambling ring, but denied any intentional wrongdoing.

The documents included three of Maguire's checks, which show that the actor paid Ruderman a total of $168,500 between July 2007 and January 2009.

They also revealed the star played so much poker he had two separate bank accounts for poker from which he paid out cash.

Director Adam Shankman is convinced that the young actor is perfect for the part.

'To be authentic, I like to cast as close to the real age as possible and wanted someone who has all the innocence and guilelessness of Drew,' Shankman told the Hollywood Reporter, adding, 'And that's Diego.'

It was a bit of a joke that got out of hand but Rebecca Black hopes she'll be more than just a fluke viral phenomenon when she releases her second music video next Monday.

Her publicist has confirmed that the follow-up to the hugely maligned but relentlessly popular It's Friday, will be aptly entitled My Moment.

Lady Gaga labelled 14-year-old Black a genius for her original song, despite the fact that the banal ditty earned her death threats for it's cringeworthy lyrics and adolescent video.

The self-penned ditty and video became a viral internet sensation, getting more than 167 million viewings since it was posted on YouTube just a few months ago.

The press release describes the genesis from debut track to follow up single.

The statement insists that the first single: 'celebrated the coming of the weekend and good times,' but that the new track is 'a fairytale story, but it happened in real life.'

Unlike It's Friday's sugary set-up, the autobiographical video will be compiled from real-life footage, including highlights of Black's life before fame was thrust upon her, the press release continues.

Director Morgan Lawley, whose resume includes Barbie commercials, also used Black's post-Friday highlights, including her appearances on red carpets and at award shows.

The new video and single will be available for download next Monday night through Black's website, www.RebeccaBlackOnline.com, and on Tuesday at iTunes and other online retailers.

It will also be posted on Black's YouTube channel.

While the first release was an independent vanity project that her mother paid $4,000 to a Southern California music studio to produce, her follow up is very much a professional affair.

The music was produced by Charlton Pettus, who's worked with Hilary Duff and Tears for Fears.

His biggest success, though, might be the theme song for "The Sims 3" computer game.

It was written by Brandon 'Blue' Hamilton, who authored a Justin Bieber tune.

Black will follow it up next month with the release of a five-song EP.
