BE A PART OF THE OFFICIAL FoF “O COME ALL YE FAITHFUL” MUSIC VIDEO!

2013-11-07T12:48:00.002-08:00

BE A PART OF THE THE OFFICIAL FOF
“O COME ALL YE FAITHFUL” MUSIC VIDEO!

If you haven’t already heard, Future of Forestry is releasing Advent Christmas EP Volume 3 on November 12 this year! It’s been three years (believe it or not) since our last Advent Christmas EP, and we couldn’t be more excited to get these songs into your hands and get you into the Christmas spirit.

In light of our first Vol. 3 single, “O Come All Ye Faithful,” we’re calling all ye fans to come join us in making Future of Forestry’s next music video with YOUR original footage!

It’s as easy (and fun) as this:
01] For the next two weeks, send in your original video footage of anything reminiscent of the season... Christmas, the holidays with family & friends, winter (for those of you who live where seasons change unlike us in San Diego), etc. The deadline to submit your video footage is Saturday, December 07, 2013 at 11:59PM PST!

02] The video clips should only be 60 seconds or less.

03] The videos can be old or new - You can dig into the archive and send us a home movie clip of you decorating your Christmas tree on your dad’s shoulders or go outside today and film the seasons changing on your iPhone. What we want most is to capture a glimpse of what Christmas looks like through the eyes of our community throughout the years!

04] To get you inspired, you can download FoF’s “O Come All Ye Faithful” for free on NoiseTrade here: http://noisetrade.com/futureofforestry/advent-christmas-ep-vol-3

How to submit:
Simply go to WeTransfer.com, upload your video, type your full name into the “Message” section and send to fofsubmissions@gmail.com. That’s it!

*Video Submission Disclaimer (Please read!!):
By sending a submission to fofsubmissions@gmail.com for the Future of Forestry “O Come All Ye Faithful” music video, you are agreeing that the video footage is your original, uncopied work. You are granting that Future of Forestry has full permission to use and edit the submitted video footage solely for the official “O Come All Ye Faithful” music video, and that the submitted video footage, your name and likeness may be released publicly for this purpose. Please note that although Future of Forestry will try to use as many video clips as possible, by submitting you are acknowledging that Future of Forestry has the sole discretion to not include clips due to a high volume of submissions or content deemed offensive or infringing on copyrights.

FOF - News for 2013

2013-04-10T15:45:00.002-07:00

Hey Everyone!

We hope that this new year has kicked off to a good start! To all who came out
to see Future of Forestry live in the 2012 Young Man Follow tour and our 2012
Advent Tour, it was great to see you at the concerts. We hope that you had as
much fun at the shows as we did! The year ahead holds many plans for us in
new music and creative sonic ventures.

RECORDING AND MORE RECORDING
A new full length Future of Forestry album is being written and on the horizon
this year! Stay tuned for further news on a release date. In addition to starting
another Future of Forestry album, Eric will be working on a few additional
projects and albums. Some surprises on what they will be, and lots of new music
is coming your way!

TOURING OR STUDIO?
Yes, this means Future of Forestry will not be on the road and will be solely working in the studio all year. Recording and mixing will be top priority this year. On a side note, this will be the first Christmas in 8 years in that Eric will get to spend with his family rather than on tour!

SOUNDSWAN RECORDINGS
Check out Future of Forestry's Soundswan's website (soundswan.com). Under Eric Owyoung's studio, bands can now submit their projects to be mixed by Eric Owyoung under the Soundswan studio title. Check it out!

Thanks so much for being such devout fans of Future of Forestry and for joining in FOF’s creative endeavors. We're so grateful to be able to create the music that we do, and it's all because of your constant support. We couldn’t ask for anything more.

Best Regards,
Eric (Future of Forestry)

Update on Advent Christmas 2013 with Future of Forestry!

2013-01-21T07:31:00.005-08:00

For nearly the last decade, we've been doing the Advent Christmas Tour, and every year is an incredible experience on the road with you all. But what that also means is that the band loses valuable time home with family for the vast majority of the Christmas season. So this year, we've decided to release a new Advent Christmas EP, but will not be touring during the month of December. We are really excited to be with family and to experience all of the the things that we've missed out on for so many years! But we are also excited that we have the opportunity to put out Advent Christmas EP Volume 3 for you to enjoy during your holiday season!

However, below is helpful information about booking inquiries for shows down the road!

BOOKING FAQ’S

Is this a booking agency?

No. We are currently a self-booked band, so you are not dealing with some corporate booking agency, you are going straight to the band. We handle booking grassroots style and try to make it as personal as possible.

What kind of venues do you play?

We play anything from secular bars to Churches. All we need is a building with a stage, power, and decent acoustics. We usually tour with our own sound and lighting.

How much does it cost?

We usually do ticketed events that pay for the band to play the event. Each tour and/or gig will require a financial guarantee to the tour/band depending on the season, location, and details of the event. Please email us so we can determine how to make the event possible with you.

Do I need to be a promoter too book the band?

Yes, and no. We commonly work with volunteers, pastors, and general fans of the band. With that, some have been incredible shows and others have been “un-incredible.” Concert events rely heavily on the promoter’s ability to determine and find an audience, and then to find multiple ways of getting word out. You don’t need to be a professional promoter, but some type of experience in the area can make a big difference. Most of all, your willingness to work hard with us is what matters. Audiences don’t just show up randomly. They show up because someone like you told them to!

Do you provide materials for promotion?

Yes, we provide several digital media. For tours, we have a tour poster for promoters to download. We also provide videos for internet promotion. We do NOT mail posters and flyers, so anything in print must be printed by the promoter.

Do you only play tours, or can I book the band for a specific event?

Over the last few years, the band has mostly done specific tours during the year. The best thing to do is to keeping in touch with our websites be updated what touring dates are open and to contact us if one of the tours is a good time for you. If you are interested in a particular date that is outside of our touring calendar, please email us specifics on what kind of an event you are planning. Anything outside of California would require finances for airfare.

What states/countries do you normally play?

Anywhere feasible. We are based in southern, CA, and commonly do west coast tours. We also do national tours when the time is right for us. If you have booking contacts and see a possibility in setting up international touring, don’t hesitate to contact.

Buy Eric's Fender Telecaster guitar on ebay for Christmas

2011-11-03T15:11:00.001-07:00

I'm moving to a new studio and decided to part way with a few things I love. One of them is my red Fender Telecaster guitar that I have had since the beginning of my Future of Forestry and Something Like Silas days. It has a lot of sentimental value to me, but so I can use the money to continue with other new musical gear...here it is for someone else on ebay.

CLICK HERE for Eric Owyoung guitar on Ebay

It's been on all the Something Like Silas records and the Future of Forestry records Twilight, Travel I, and Travel II. By the time Travel III came along I bought an old used Tele that I loved the feel of. So needless to say, two simlar sounding Tele's is too much of a luxury for me.

Here's some pictures of me playing it at House of Blues in Anneheim with Delirious.

And here's a video of it (with the original audio recording of the guitar...not overdubbed in the studio).

The guitar will come with a signed certificate which authenticates the ownership of the guitar owned by Eric Owyoung until December 2011.

Anyway, I'm hoping it can go to someone cool. Cheers!

Eric
