Solar activity is intensifying

Active sunspot AR1476 has been firing off M-class flares at a rate of two or three a day for the past few days. Things may start to get a bit more exciting in the coming days as AR1476 is now facing earth, harbouring the potential of more powerful X-class flares. NOAA is predicting a 10% chance of an X-class flare in the next 48 hours.
