Bianca Cage breaks TSSAA high School State record by making 13 three pointers in a single game as she finished the night with 48 points. The 5'7 guard went into the night with just another game on her mind, but as the night progresses she realized that she had the hot hand of the evening. With a packed house as Southwind went up against the Lady Cougars of Kirby Bianca could not miss.
Coach Stan Gatlin, former Millington girls coach gave Bianca the Green light to make it happen. As Bianca would make shot after the shot the crowd would go wild. The excitement filled the gym.
As some of her Summer teammates play with her and others in the stand as well as her coaches with every shot made the gym would get louder and louder.
Congratulations to all of the Southwind's Lady Jaguars on their 23-3 season. As far as the State Record the name Bianca Cage will be around for a long time in girls high school basketball.

MLB was represented well in the 2011 Collierville High Dragon Fire
Holiday Tournament as several of the organizations players made the
All-Tourney team and even MVP honors this year.

The youngest to represent is Houston High Sophomore guard and leading
scorer Aysha Harris. Aysha showed even in her youth she is primed to
make a great run in this years event with her steady play and leadership
averaging a smooth 13pts per game.

Next would be our sharp shooter pg from Arkansas Timesha Pettigrew.
Timesha is Senior guard for Marion High. Timesha held her team down
with her great outside shooting and ability to make plays for others
averaging 17pts per game.

Next on the list is our other sharp shooting senior guard Arkela
Ware-Jones from Fairley High. Arkela was able to score in many ways as
she found herself running point guard and playing shooting guard to lead
her team and finish with 15pts per game.

Next would be the "Beast from the East" Southwind High senior post
Jasmine McAllister. Big Mac showed she was the best post player in this
event as she controlled the boards, contested shots & averaged a
powerful 12pts per game

Finally, the MVP the event was none other than Southwind High senior
guard Bianca Cage. Bianca was clearly the most dominate guard in the
event. She played well on both ends on the court. Despite being in
foul trouble, Bianca managed to have scoring outputs of 27pts, 17pts,
18pts & 29pts on her way to MVP Honors and the first prize to place
in the trophy case for the Southwind High Girls Basketball Program

Well's had a triple
double performance this past week against Tipton Rosemark with 22 points, 15
rebounds, and 10 blocks. Henrietta is a 6'2 forward for Memphis Catholic High School . Well's has developed into a college prospect prototype. In the past Summer with the Bobcats Platinum Team under Coach Tony Wilson, Well's showed that she can have potential to play with some of the best talent in the country. She had great performances with her long span in the USJN National Championship in Washington, DC and the Run for Roses event in Kentucky. Well's has a promising future with the Bobcats and her High School. Henrietta Wells have a bright future ahead as great college prospect from the Mid-South.

Snowden is on the way to possibly another undefeated season. This year the gain a fiesty little 6th grader in Jireh Washington. Jireh Washington and Miyah Barnes handle the guard spots. Snowden this year probably have the most craftiest forwards in Middle school by far the the Biggest in Kyla Green, Kayla Williams and Rodrea Echols. Echols can also be deadly at the 1 or the 2. Dejah Montgomery, who is out injured for the first half of the season is set to return after the holiday break will bring more rapid fire to the pressure oriented team. Snowden is out for a 3 peat for the MIAA City Championship. Saturday afternoon, Arlington High senior & Memphis Lady Bobcat
Select standout, Logan Hammonds committed to the University of Arkansas
Monticello. Logan was impressed with the campus as well as its Nursing
program. She is also excited with the opportunity to come right in and
play huge minutes during her freshman year. Logan with her 6'0 frame
has the skill to play outside were she is deadly from beyond the 3 and
physical enough to bang inside. Logan was a huge piece in her club
teams offense as she kept teams honest with her shooting ability.

Logan Hammonds is a senior at Arlington High School. Her head coach
David Offerle is excited with the team this year because of their
Will there be a repeat? Who will grasp hold of the middle school torch this season? Will Snowden continue their reign in dominating the court or will be Hickory Ridge that will come in and pick up the pieces and take charge? Snowden is said to be the best in the league, only time will tell. It may just be some new come in and take over. The MIAA Middle School Jamboree will be hosted November 5, 2012. The Jamboree will be hosted at Colonial Middle School and the newly opened Kate Bond Middle School. Click Here to preview the schedule to catch some of the action.
In the meanwhile who will take the Shelby County Middle School top rankings. That will be an interesting league this year as Mt. She was very enthused about the Nursing Program as she intends on pursuing a Medical Career at the conclusion of basketball. Doss for the most part of the Summer was out on an ACL injury and was released to play at the conclusion of the Summer. In the Fall Exposure event in Murfreesboro Doss showed coaches she was back and in good health. Doss gave 110% effort in the Fall showcase. Doss, with her 5'9 frame is capable of a bunch great qualities on the court. She has the fundamental package to be one of the most diverse players on her club team. Dakota is also a key element of her high school team. during her 4 years of high school she had her share of trips to the state tournaments.

Dakota Doss is a Senior at Briarcrest Christian School. Her head Coach Lee Smith is one happy coach to have back one of his prize players back on the court for this season. Congratulations to Dakota Doss a Product of the Memphis Lady Bobcats.

Club Coach, Tony Wilson has coached Dakota for most of her club life.
Coach Wilson was happy to get the text message from Dakota with the
great news of her decision. This was one notch for the Bobcats club
expectation for 2011. The Bobcats are now awaiting for more good news
as several players are taking official visits. This is definitely a Platinum Moment

Shunice Tionne Herron is a no Stranger to the Bobcats and to the National Circuit. Herron as been a Member of the Bobcats since she was a 7th Grader. Over the years she has grown into what could possibly be the best point guard in the 2013 Class in the Mid-South. Like teammate Bianca Cage, Herron has all of the right tools to go to the next level with no problem. Herron's 3 point range is phenomenal and she has a sweet touch on the floater. Did I mention defense "OMG". Her ball handling is just an understatement. The word incredible will do for now until you see her in person.
Shunice Herron attends High School at Bolivar Central in the small town of Bolivar about 80 miles East of Memphis. She will definitely make her Junior Year a year to remember. She is one special ball player.

Bianca Cage is a 5'7 bolt of lightning that will light you up no matter what, when or where. Cage is probably one of the best lockdown defenders in the Mid-South. She has matched up this past summer with some of the top guards in the country. Her offensive skill set is just off the chain. She can create off the dribble, pass or just on a face up, her moves are so quick and percise. Bianca can shoot the 3 and she can attack the basket like no other guard you have seen.
Jaccinda Smith is a 5'11 undersized post player, but she has a great ability to do big things under the basket with a mid-range twist. Her basketball knowledge is so in depth transitioning to another position is a cinch. She is just an outstanding athlete and she has the athletic build to go with it. Smith is a ideal SWAC, OVC, CUSA, MEAC style player.
Jacinnda Smith attends Murrah High School in Jackson, Mississippi. Smith is one of two players from the Jackson Area that play for the Bobcats Platinum Team. Each year Platinum attempts to have at least 2 to 3 Jackson Area Prospects on their roster. In the past they have future players such as Taylor Beverly, Donyeah Mayfield, and Murrah standout Kalisha Washington just in the past year. The Bobcats have pick up players like LaSondra Barrett, Keona James, Sasha Goodlett and Nikki Byrd in the Past years. These players have moved on to the college level and they are in their Senior Seasons this year.
