NOTE: The show is going to be a bit shorter this week since most of the crew was occupied with Father's Day activities.

Question: In honor of Father's Day, what is your favorite gaming memory with your father?

I wasn't going to have a giveaway this week since we had a light show and our answers might be hard to guess. However if you've been paying attention to recent shows you might be able to guess one of the answers. For the giveaway, tell me the games we chose. And my answer was kind of a genre of games rather than one specific game.

You can guess up to 3 games since there were 3 hosts. The one who guesses the most games correctly wins the game. In the case of a tie, I'll choose a winner randomly. You must post your guess to our answers before 11:59PM EST Monday Night.

The prize for guessing our answers is the PC Game: SimCity Societies.

Hosts:

Chad

Tom

Ivan

Keith

Phil

Kicking off the listener-submitted roll call questions is one from cobolisdead.

Question: What is the number one game that you got in trouble for playing with the wife or significant other?

In a couple cases we expanded it to include parents.

<img src="http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000U88UVS.01.MZZZZZZZ.jpg"" border="0" alt="Amazon (Thumbnails) cover" />

For the giveaway, tell me what games we chose. You can guess up to 5 games since there were 5 hosts. The one who guesses the most games correctly wins the game. In the case of a tie, I'll choose a winner randomly. You must post your guess to our answers before 11:59PM EST Monday Night.

By the way there were actually two repeated answers. If you've listened to VGS long enough, that's probably a hint.

Can't really fault them, but we can give them a shattered dream pie. In any case the episode will be mostly the audio from the Video Game Show's contribution to the GamerCast Network Invasion of Liberty City. Most of the people who visit the Video Game Show front page or forums have already heard this audio, but a lot of iTunes and Zune subscribers haven't.

Also starting this week, I'm putting out a call for roll call questions. My roll call questions have been rather lame recently. So I'm turning to our listeners for questions to introduce the crew. These questions shouldn't require deep or thought out answers, just something simple and quick. If you've been listening to the show for awhile you know the type of question I generally use. Post them here or send them into the mailbag. If you're feeling adventurous, send us the question in an audio format. You could leave it at our voicemail (320-300-GAME, normal long distance call) or Skype account.

The devs felt in most FPS you are too physically disconnected from the game world. In Mirror's Edge they're trying to give the player a better sense of physical presence. To that end, the game is built around the concept of carrying out free-running like stunts all from the first person perspective. They just released the first gameplay video at the Sony's Gamer's Day Conference:
Komen for the Cure, the global leader in the fight to end breast cancer.

Their goal for the drive is to raise $100,000. If the goal is met, everyone who purchased a game during the drive will receive a free gift from PopCap.

To help out, all you have to do is head over to the PopCap site and buy some of their fun games. May I suggest Peggle?

Ok this game won't please the graphics junkies of the world, but dammit I like the concept. It looks fun in a Interstate '76 kind of way.

Sledgehammer is a PC game made by the Russian developers, Targem. Here's the trailer:

And actually if you go to the game's website, they improved the graphics a bit.

There is a demo available however it's in Russian. Even though I don't speak a word of Russian, I might try it just because I like the idea of transforming trucks of death.

By the way this is the second trucks-of-death game by Targem. Their first foray into the "genre" was "Hard Truck: Apocalypse". The funny thing is before "Hard Truck: Apocalypse", "Hard Trucks" was a truck simulator series where you hauled cargo and raced. It wasn't a vehicular combat series.
However I'll still post the question from Episode 87, even though it was again fairly lame. As with Episode 83, my roll call question muse wasn't inspiring. Although I've been fairly busy with an upcoming event (to be revealed soon).

Question: What is your favorite way to kill someone in a game?
