Hi there! My name is Mike Tresca and I’m manager of extended audiences communication at GE. As part of my responsibilities, I handle recruitment communications on our GE Careers Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, and web pages. By sharing some tips to more effectively communicate with GE, I hope I can make your GE job search easier. Today’s article is about the GE Careers Blog: http://careers.geblogs.com.

We post a new article every day on the blog at 9:30 a.m. EST. The article includes wide ranging coverage of everything from cool GE innovations to the latest job news. But there are a lot of static links that might help you find a job too.

The graphic in the center right links you to the job search tool on GE Careers, but you can also search right from the blog by using the text box in the upper right corner. If you’d like to continue a relationship with GE consider submitting your email to our Talent Community on the right.

In addition to viewing employee profiles and videos, we have a host of tags about a variety of topics. Here you will find a list of postings by geography, by GE business, and other relevant topics like renewable energy, healthymagination, and innovation. One of our most popular tags is Recruiter Advice, where this article will be archived for future reference. At the bottom right is our Blogroll listing other GE blogs and a list of links to GE social media.

You’re welcome to comment on any blog post, but please do keep your comments on topic. We try to respond to every comment posted, but sometimes we receive personal inquiries that aren’t appropriate for a public forum like a blog. In that case you will be direct to gerecruiting@corporate.ge.com, which I also manage. We use that email to address individual questions, comments, and concerns of a personal nature.

One thing you should never do is post your contact information as a comment. You can always share your personal information via email with a recruiter at a later date. Speaking of oversharing, please do not post your entire resume into the comments field of the blog. I moderate all comments and will be forced to edit or remove your post if it contains too much personal information.

If you’re looking for a specific type of job, be sure to post what function or business you’d like to work in and where (country, state, or city). In my experience, these two factors make it easiest for us to help you find a job. For some ideas on where to start, see our business, function, and location tabs on our web site: http://jobs.gecareers.com/group/

Did you find this article useful? Would you like to read more? Let me know what you think in the comments below!

Michael Tresca has over a decade of collective experience at GE in recruitment marketing, information technology, executive communications, and organizational communications. You can read more about him on LinkedIn.
