GLC endorses action plan to address growing water infrastructure crisis
The GLC endorsed a joint action plan to address the growing water infrastructure crisis in the Great Lakes region. The plan outlines actions to address a backlog in needed upgrades and repairs to water-related infrastructure in the region over the next 20 years.
GLC awarded funding to restore Areas of Concern in Ohio and Michigan
The GLC will support the design and restoration of valuable habitat in the Maumee River AOC in Ohio and the Clinton River AOC in Michigan, in coordination with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Great Lakes states, and local partners.
Green infrastructure grants awarded
The GLC has awarded five small grants to promote green infrastructure in communities across the binational Great Lakes region. The grants will help bring resources and expertise to small and medium-sized communities that have not yet tried or have struggled to advance green infrastructure.
Research papers on oil transportation in the Great Lakes region released
The GLC released three research papers it commissioned that focused on key aspects of oil transportation in the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence River region.
Transforming Great Lakes data into useful information
Blue Accounting, a groundbreaking new initiative of the GLC and the Nature Conservancy, provides decision-makers with a big picture view of complex issues so they can allocate resources most efficiently.
New videos highlight impact of GLRI at Muskegon Lake, St. Marys River
The GLC and NOAA released videos highlighting the economic and environmental impact of work they are leading in Muskegon, Michigan, and at the Little Rapids portion of the St. Marys River.
