Book & Bag It: A Celebration of the WPA Murals in Chicago

Where: Geneva Public Library District at Meeting Room

Heather Becker, Chief Executive Officer of The Conservation Center, will present a lecture on the discovery and conservation of WPA-era murals in the Chicago Public schools and the research effort that followed which resulted in her book, Art for the People. She will discuss the grassroots effort which raised the funds to conserve the murals as well as how the murals are being used today to bring a cultural dimension into the classroom and open a new world of art to the students.

Kidworks Touring Theater Company presents a fun-filled, multicultural journey to Africa, the Middle East, India, China, Mexico and Native America with stories, dances and traditions that come alive.
