Beef jerky has brought us pocket cams and erectile dysfunction pills have brought us instant replays, but this new sponsorship takes the cake – Dearfoams slippers. Yes, slippers.

Dearfoams will be the sponsor of the 2011 WSOP and will provide free slippers for all entrants. Apparently 2010 WSOP Main Event Winner Jonathan Duhamel inspired the team-up by wearing flip flops throughout his championship run. WSOP Vice President Ty Stewart explained in a press release, “we have partnered with Dearfoams – who make the world’s most comfortable slippers – so players can now feel truly comfy as they pursue their dreams of winning the WSOP and going on to live a life of leisure where it will be appropriate to wear Dearfoams slippers 24/7.”

I bet the players hope next year will be sponsored by La-Z-Boy and Heaven on Earth massage parlour.

The man that Antonius unseated stormed ahead this week, earning $1,166,372 in 6,642 hands over 52 sessions. Antonius did his part to fall behind Hansen, dropping $1,306,406 in 4,112 hands over just 30 sessions, finding himself plummeting to eighth spot on the list.

Cole South and Viktor Blom posted successful weeks, racheting up their earnings by besting “Esvedra” and Gavin “gavz101” Cochrane, respectively. The top online earners list now looks like this: Gus Hansen with $3,993,460, Daniel “jungleman12” Cates with $1,952,000, Gavin “gavz101” Cochrane with $1,789,000, NoPasaran with $1,616,000, Matt Hawrilenko with $1,440,000, bixiu with $1,406,000), Phil Ivey with $1,336,000 and Patrik Antonius with $1,157,000.

Tom Dwan has the unfortunate honour of topping the year’s loser list, with $2,474,000.

And that is saying something. Seidel defeated Erik Lindgren heads-up in the 100,000 buy-in Super High Roller Event to put another mark on a successful year. Thus far in 2011 the hall of famer has four wins and has earned $5.4 million. In February, he won the High Roller Event at the LA Poker Classic and the National Heads-Up Poker Championship in March, making him the leader in all-time tournament earnings.

The WPT title is Seidel’s second, and it goes along nicely with his eight WSOP bracelets. The win was made even more impressive by the company at the final table, which included Daniel Negreanu, Vivek Rajkumar and Justin Bonomo. Usually hall of famers kick back and enjoy the fruits of their labour, but for Seidel, he’s obviously nowhere done yet.

According to Cates’ friend and fellow pro Kevin “Kevmath” Mathers, Cates is looking to gift a seat to a lucky person:

“I wanted to let you know that Daniel Cates decided to do something really nice. He is buying one person into the Main Event. He will be tweeting (@junglemandan) his location around Vegas at least once per week starting next week and running through June 25. People will pick up a ticket from him at each location and a winner will be drawn. It’s free to join, no sign-ups or anything and the only stipulation is that they can’t have played in the Main Event before. He is also throwing in lessons and best of all, not taking a percent from any of the winnings.”

This will no doubt start an enormous growth in Cates’ twitter followers!
