The fold-out insert contains illustrations inspired by the band’s lyrics.”

It’s summer, and most of this week I’ve been blogging summer related things I find interesting. While I tend to cover more edgy pieces of art, design, illustration and photography, today I’m feeling a little romantic and that’s why I’m sharing this hand-drawn nautical themed wedding invitations by the very talented Diane Faye Zerr of Faye + Co. Exquisite self promotional piece around the subject of Beer by a boutique Denver design firm called Barnhart. They apparently love beer like I do and who doesn’t love a concept that reflects contemporary life like their “Bailout Strong Ale” Good stuff, more images after the jump.

Finally got around to flipping through the latest issue of Esquire Magazine and I got a nice surprise. Featured in The Best Bars in America 2010 article are a these coasters illustrated by none other than Sam Soulek aka Soul Seven. Kudos to Esquire for tapping this massive talent.

A while back I shared some of the artwork of Gabriel J. Shuldiner who’smixed media work I find very interesting. Gabriel has now expanded his work which his foray into Jewelry design and construction. His current line is made up of molded and distressed acrylic polymers and his de-constructive process yields unique shapes and textures.

There’s a certain quality about the illustrative style of Mark Allen Miller that has me looking at it over and over. He has a great sense of color, composition and texture. More work below —

WooFus is a brand of very limited handmade T-Shirts designed and created by a sole designer from Mainz Germany known as OOFUS. I love the organic look and feel and his use of color, the photography is pretty high end and fashion-esque in a tongue-in-cheek way.

I really appreciate the  these elegant package design for Grown Botanical Alchemy, a line of  organic skincare products. This typographical based work seems busy at first glance, but the layout and use of scale reflects the organic nature of the product itself.

Rioja Artist Series is an initiative of Rioja Wines for increase the brand internationally. In each country, a local artist was selected to illustrate the character of these wines. Borja Bonaque created these fine illustrations for to represent Spain.

The 9th issue of A5 Magazine looks to be quite interesting. This time around its dubbed the Remix issue — 77 artists from around the world present works inspired by music and their favorite songs. Underlapper ‘Softly Harboured’  — excellent piece of work from design to final printed piece.

Sopp took part in creating 5 different limited edition record covers for Underlapper’s new release ‘Softly Harboured’. The idea was to use a coherent production method for all of the covers in order to tie the different designs together as a series. They were printed as b&w offset with a silver scratchy overprint. The idea of interaction was explored through different ways of using the scratchy material.

Brilliant branding for Centric Network a smooth blend of BET Jazz and VH1 Soul. The cool earthy tones with the occasional burst of color makes  the overall identity very chill. The overall look and feel reminds me the Raphael Saadiq video for “Staying In Love”.
