I been using rocking with TCL for awhile as my go-to TV…

I been using rocking with TCL for awhile as my go-to TV with models such as the Q7 and then after the QM7. These TVs provided a pleasant viewing experience, especially for its price point but I always wanted more. This is where QM9K comes into play. It has superb brightness, details in color, and the sound is surprisingly good too. How does it hold up after months of use?

Style

Taking the 65” QM9K(65QM9K) out the box and getting it setup is reminiscent of the QM7. It has an adjustable stand that you can also use to hide your various cables if necessary. It is wide and can be utilized for placing a suitable soundbar. I always prefer a stand over legs as it can even fit on the smaller side of TV stands.

This TV has a “ZeroBorder” as TCL coins it which is an edge to edge no screen border experience. It is there but you must get so close to the TV to even notice it. This 65” model weights 50.9lbs w/ the stand. It is VESA mountable too.

There are four HDMI ports which should fit all your connection needs. Ports 1 & 2 support 4K 144Hz while the other two are 4K 60k. I typically have my PS5 and Xbox Series X occupying the first two slots while Nintendo Switch or NVIDIA Shield TV will take Port 3 and Port 4 aka (e)ARC will be for a soundbar such as Sonos Arc Ultra. There are other inputs such as USB 3.0 / 2.0, Ethernet, and Optical all of which I rarely ever use.

An area which most TV brands seem to just take it on the chin so to speak is built-in TV speakers. But over the years TCL has dedicated itself to improving that area with their models. With the TCL QM9K, a speaker system by Bang & Olufsen is equipped. They are loud, not even at the highest levels and even bring along some detail with them utilizing Dolby Atmos. This will help fill the void while you are out looking for a soundbar setup.

Navigation / Apps / Features

QM9K is running Google TV and it’s quite speedy. It powers on instantly, navigating through the various apps while menus are swift and easy. This model was also launched first with Google Gemini. With Gemini enabled you can control your TV hands-free so to speak. You can ask it simple questions like “what’s the weather?”, or “what movies have Keanu Reeves in it?” and get presented with a list of titles you can then click on. Ask it to change tv inputs, request summaries for shows, control other smart home devices, there are various possibilities. If you don’t want to go hands-on you can also use the mic button on the remote too.

An interesting feature on QM9K is called Ambient Display. There is a built-in presence sensor that can detect movement. Walk out of the room and after a while the TV will turn off. Come back and it flicks back on instantly. It can be set to turn off during later hours. You can even set up widgets and wallpaper when it goes idle. It’s a fun addition but can also be sensitive and turn on from any movement such as fans, digital picture frames, etc. But overall, it can be a great way to save power.

I liked the upgrade on the remote with its metallic silver finish. It’s tall, feels nice in hand, and takes a beating as I have dropped it numerous times. There are dedicated app buttons such as Netflix, Prime Video, and YouTube. There is a Free TV button as well. I see TCL tried to streamline it making it overall easy to navigate.

The 65” display has a Crystglow WHVA Panel which essentially makes it fine to view at angles. Looking at the TV from my desk or in the kitchen still provided me with nice picture quality. There is also an anti-reflective screen reducing that glare you get from sun shining through your curtains or lights in the room.

What to Watch?

I don’t think I realized just how bright this TV got. It has a HDR6500 Nits Peak. Everything pops in colors while 7000:1 Native Contrast pushes for deep backs in the darkest of scenes. I have spent time a good time watching sports like World Cup matches to the Knicks winning the NBA Finals or the biggest matches at WrestleMania. Switching to the presets such as Sports adds more color and handles fast motion easily. Also toggling to this on the audio side providing a greater soundscape and feeling like you are in the live audience. Movies like “The Batman” and “Sinners” which feature predominately dark scenes still punch with deep details. Animated films like “Hoppers” look vibrant.

What to Play?

I thoroughly enjoy gaming on QM9K. I play a good deal playing Fortnite on my PS5 which can run at 4K 120Hz looking detailed, colorful, and not miss a step. Their Game Accelerator 288 VRR keeps everything in line. Other games like God of War: Ragnarök will let you take on adversaries left and right slashing away without issue. Same can be said playing Street Fighter 6 on Xbox Series X and Forza Horizon 6 while driving through the streets of Japan. Auto Game Mode kicks soon as you power on your console making sure you get the best experience.

If you are looking for a premium TV set, the QM9K can make your dollars go far. It’s quite the step up from its QM7 model I used previously. Better colors, more details, and better handling of content whether I ran the apps off the set itself or from a console or other device. Google Gemini is like having another handsfree device in your home ecosystem and once you adjust it can do wonders. Also, its built-in sound system isn’t a slouch and a nice holdover until you get anything externally permanent.

TCL’s QM9K 65” typically goes for $1799 but has been on sale quite a few times around the $1200 mark.

[Written By External Partner] Getting a brand-new laptop is an exciting experience.…

[Written By External Partner]

Getting a brand-new laptop is an exciting experience. The urge to download your favorite apps and games is strong. However, rushing installations before securing your device is a major security risk that could compromise your new machine right from the start.

Out-of-the-box laptops are surprisingly vulnerable, often shipping with outdated software patches. If you connect to the internet and start downloading files immediately, you open the door to malware, ransomware, and spyware.

Taking just a few minutes to secure your device before personalization ensures your private data remains completely safe. Here are six essential tips to secure your new laptop from malware before downloading applications. Let’s check them out…

Run Operating System Updates Immediately

After going through the setup wizard, the first must-do thing is checking for operating system updates. Laptops sit in warehouses for months before reaching you.

During that time, developers release critical security patches to fix newly discovered vulnerabilities. Therefore, it’s vital to connect to a secure home Wi-Fi network and navigate to your system settings.

Locate the update section (such as Windows Update or macOS Software Updates) and download available patches.

After installing any app, restart your machine if prompted. This simple act immediately closes security gaps that malware creators actively exploit.

Activate Built-In Security Features

Modern OSs feature built-in security suites that offer excellent defense. Windows features Microsoft Defender. On the flip side, macOS utilizes native XProtect defense systems.

However, these features are occasionally turned off by default or set to a passive mode if a trial version of a third-party antivirus was pre-installed by the manufacturer.

Before you browse the web to download anything, open your system’s security dashboard. If you’re looking for real-time protection, verifying that live cloud monitoring and behavioral analysis are toggled on is non-negotiable.

When implemented, this active defense mechanism constantly monitors system activity and blocks malicious scripts before they can infect your machine.

Uninstall Pre-Installed Bloatware

Manufacturers pack new devices with pre-installed software, known as bloatware. This includes trial versions of:

photo editors,

games, and

unwanted diagnostic utility programs.

If left unpatched, such apps waste valuable system resources and can introduce security vulnerabilities.

Not sure how to unpatch them? Go to your system’s uninstallation menu and review the list of installed applications.

Then, locate software you didn’t ask for and safely remove it. Be particularly cautious with expired antivirus trials.

Remember, running multiple security programs simultaneously can cause system instability and compromise your overall protection.

Configure Your Native Firewall

Antivirus stops malicious files. However, a firewall acts as a digital barrier that monitors network traffic. It works best at preventing hackers and automated bots from scanning your laptop for open ports and vulnerable entry points.

Be sure to check your operating system’s settings to confirm that the native firewall is turned on for both private and public networks.

Set it to block unauthorized inbound connections by default. This makes sure that even if you connect to an insecure network later, your laptop remains hidden from malicious actors.

Secure Your Local User Accounts

Let’s agree: security also relies on proper access control. During setup, you’re prompted to create a user account. With a strong password or a complex PIN, you can protect this account.

Don’t use an administrator account for everyday tasks. Instead, you should create a standard user account for daily browsing and app installation.

Standard accounts lack permission to make system-wide changes. Such changes severely restrict the damage malware can cause if a malicious file is accidentally executed.

Perform a Baseline Deep Scan

Before you download your first app, it’s strongly advisable to run a comprehensive system scan using your activated security software.

Even though the laptop is brand new, files can sometimes become corrupted, or malicious items could exist in the factory image.

In case you are running a baseline scan, you will be able to start with a completely clean slate. It’s effective to establish a healthy benchmark for your laptop’s performance and security status.

When the scan concludes with a clean bill of health, you can confidently begin downloading your favorite applications, knowing your foundational security is unshakeable.

Mobile gaming controllers usually come with a major compromise: they’re either comfortable…

Mobile gaming controllers usually come with a major compromise: they’re either comfortable but way too bulky to carry around, or they’re tiny and feel terrible to use. The MCON by Ohsnap finally solves that problem. Created by independent designer Josh King and brought to market with Ohsnap, the MCON is a super compact, transforming controller that snaps onto the back of your phone using MagSafe (or an included adapter ring for non-MagSafe phones). It’s built for anyone playing native mobile titles, running retro emulators, or streaming PC and console games via Xbox Cloud, PlayStation Remote Play, or Steam Link who wants real, physical controls without dragging a massive setup around.

DESIGN

Unlike bulky clamp-style mobile controllers, the MCON is engineered for ultimate portability. Matching standard iPhone dimensions (144.1 x 69.4 x 24.1 mm) and weighing just 197g, it slides effortlessly into your pocket right alongside your phone. Its sliding mechanism completely protects the joysticks and tactile buttons when closed, keeping them safe from snags or damage in transit. Closing the unit automatically activates its Auto Wake/Sleep function to preserve battery life. When you’re ready to play, a press of a button activates its quick-launch mechanism, sliding the unit open while the ergonomic handles lock into place to drastically reduce hand strain during extended sessions.

EXPERIENCE

In actual daily use, the portability is what makes the MCON such a win. Being able to just toss it in a pocket or backpack without needing a dedicated hard case makes it genuinely effortless to take anywhere. The button and stick accuracy hit way above what you’d expect for a controller this size. The joysticks feel tight and responsive, the triggers have a smooth analog pull for racing games, and the face buttons give you a crisp click without being loud enough to annoy people around you. Surprisingly, the deployable grips do a great job preventing hand strain, making longer play sessions actually comfortable.

Joysticks: The GameSir Mag-Res joysticks feel remarkably precise with smooth, linear tension and zero stick drift, giving you tight control in fast-paced shooters and precision platformers.

Buttons: The tactile switches are crisp and responsive without feeling stiff, and their quiet action means you can game comfortably in public without noisy click-clacking.

Triggers: The Hall-effect triggers provide buttery-smooth analog travel, making subtle throttle adjustments in racing games feel natural and responsive.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Overall, the MCON is one of the smartest mobile accessories to come along in a while. It bridges the gap between everyday convenience and solid performance, giving you a proper console-style control layout that easily fits in your pocket alongside your phone. At $129.99, it’s definitely an investment, but for anyone who wants to game on the go without dealing with clunky phone clamps or cheap-feeling mini pads, it’s an absolute winner.

Gaming chairs have reached a point where meaningful innovation is becoming increasingly…

Gaming chairs have reached a point where meaningful innovation is becoming increasingly difficult. We’ve seen countless iterations that refine comfort, improve materials, or tweak ergonomics, but few products genuinely feel different. The Razer Soma Chroma immediately caught my attention because it attempts something I’ve never seen executed this well: integrating RGB lighting into the chair as part of the gaming experience. Razer positions the Soma Chroma as its first RGB gaming chair, combining reactive Chroma lighting with an ergonomic design intended for marathon gaming sessions. After spending a good amount of time using it for gaming, long workdays, and streaming, I came away pleasantly surprised. The RGB may be the headline feature, but what mattered most to me was whether it could stand on its own as a comfortable ergonomic chair.

I’m 6’1″ and around 270 pounds, comfort is usually my biggest concern with gaming chairs. Seat width, pressure distribution, lumbar support, and long-term fatigue all play a much bigger role than flashy features. The good news is that the Soma Chroma addresses those concerns exceptionally well, making the RGB lighting feel like a bonus instead of the primary selling point.

Build Quality & Specifications

The Soma Chroma feels every bit like a premium Razer product. Assembly was refreshingly straightforward, with clear instructions and very little frustration. Within a short amount of time, the chair was fully assembled and ready to use, something I always appreciate with larger furniture purchases.

The overall construction inspires confidence. The reinforced steel frame feels solid, while the chair itself remains stable whether sitting upright during competitive matches or reclining to relax. Nothing creaks, shifts, or feels inexpensive. It gives the impression that it’s built to handle years of regular use.

Specifications

Feature

Details

RGB Lighting

Reactive Razer Chroma RGB with support for 300+ games

Lighting Options

16.8 million colors and 10 lighting presets

Lumbar Support

Built-in ergonomic lumbar arch

Cushioning

Dual-density cold-cured foam seat

Recline

Up to 155°

Connectivity

2.4GHz wireless for PC and Bluetooth for mobile

Power

USB-C via wall adapter or external power bank

Controls

Integrated onboard control panel

Frame

Reinforced steel construction with 5-star steel wheelbase

MSRP

$499.99 USD

Comfort & Ergonomics

Looking at the cushion initially, I expected it to be overly firm. My first impression was that extended sessions might become uncomfortable, especially considering my size. Once I actually spent time in the chair, however, that perception changed quickly. The dual-density foam gradually conforms to your body, distributing weight naturally instead of creating pressure points. My glutes simply weren’t fatigued the way they often are with narrower or stiffer chairs.

Seat width also deserves praise. Larger users are often forced into racing-style chairs that hug the hips too aggressively. The Soma Chroma gives me enough room to sit comfortably without feeling confined, making it far more accommodating during lengthy sessions. Heck, I even sit with one of my legs folded it, which is insane. I also appreciate Razer’s built-in lumbar arch. It strikes a balance that many ergonomic chairs struggle to achieve. The curve is supportive enough to encourage good posture without aggressively pushing your lower back forward. It never felt intrusive, and I found myself maintaining a more natural sitting position throughout the day.

RGB Features & Everyday Experience

The reactive Chroma lighting is undeniably cool. Watching the chair respond to supported games adds another layer of immersion to a gaming setup, particularly in darker environments. Razer Synapse offers extensive customization with millions of colors and multiple lighting presets, making it easy to match the chair with the rest of your battlestation. That said, during actual gameplay I found myself noticing the RGB less than I expected. Even at maximum brightness, once I’m fully immersed in a game my attention naturally stays on the monitor rather than the lighting around me. I don’t consider that a negative—it simply means the RGB becomes part of the atmosphere instead of demanding attention.

Ironically, I think the RGB shines brightest while streaming. On camera, the Soma Chroma looks fantastic. It immediately stands out behind you and gives your setup a premium appearance that viewers will notice. If you’re a content creator, this chair contributes just as much to your visual presentation as it does your comfort.

Features I Missed

As much as I enjoyed the Soma Chroma, there are a few features from the Razer Iskur V2 that I genuinely missed. The biggest omission for me is the adjustable lumbar system. While the integrated lumbar arch is comfortable, I still prefer having the ability to fine-tune its position depending on how I’m sitting throughout the day. I also missed the Iskur V2’s bidirectional armrests, specifically the ability to move them inward toward my waist. During competitive shooters, I like positioning my elbows closer to my body for a tighter, more focused posture. The Soma Chroma’s armrests are perfectly functional, but I would have loved to see that additional range of adjustment carried over.

Powering the RGB is another area that may divide buyers. The chair can be powered through USB-C using either a wall adapter or an external battery pack. While relying on a power bank can feel cumbersome, I actually appreciate that Razer gives users multiple options instead of forcing a single solution. If your desk allows for clean cable management, running a longer USB-C cable effectively creates a permanent setup that requires very little maintenance.

REVIEW SCORE: 8.5/10

The Razer Soma Chroma succeeds because its biggest question mark ends up being one of its biggest strengths. Before sitting in it, I wondered whether the RGB would overshadow the ergonomics. Instead, I found an exceptionally comfortable gaming chair that happens to feature impressive RGB integration. The supportive lumbar curve, accommodating seat width, and foam cushioning made extended gaming sessions surprisingly easy, eliminating the comfort concerns I initially had.

Could it borrow a few more premium adjustments from the Iskur V2? Absolutely. Those additions would make an already strong chair even better. Even so, none of those omissions prevented me from genuinely enjoying my time with it. If you’re looking for an ergonomic gaming chair that’s comfortable enough for all-day use while adding a unique visual element to your battlestation or stream, the Soma Chroma is an easy recommendation. Razer has built a strong foundation with its first RGB gaming chair, and I’m excited to see where future iterations take the concept.

Dolby Vision 2 Arrives, Bringing Dolby’s Most Advanced Picture Experience Yet to Hisense TVs

Select 2026 Hisense TVs are the first devices to receive Dolby Vision 2, delivering an immediate picture upgrade to viewers worldwide

SAN FRANCISCO (August 6, 2026) – Today, Dolby Laboratories (NYSE: DLB) and Hisense announced that Dolby Vision 2 is now available on select Hisense televisions with more models to receive firmware updates in the coming weeks. The milestone launches the first phase of a broader rollout, delivering Dolby’s next-generation picture quality to viewers worldwide.

With this update, Hisense TV owners will immediately notice a difference across all Dolby Vision content. From movies and TV to games and live sports, everything they already love in Dolby Vision will look more captivating and authentic, offering a significant and immediate improvement to their Dolby Vision experience today. And the experience will only get richer with CANAL+, iQIYI, and Peacock committed to utilizing the expanded palette of Dolby Vision 2 capabilities.

“Dolby Vision 2 sets a new standard for what television can look like, and today consumers can experience that difference for themselves,” said John Couling, Senior Vice President, Entertainment at Dolby Laboratories. “With this update, the entertainment you love in Dolby Vision now looks even better, setting the stage for even more incredible experiences to come.”

Hisense’s 2026 UX, UR9, UR8, and U7 (U7 pro in EU, MEA, CSA) televisions running Google TV or VIDAA OS will be the first to receive the update, unlocking Dolby Vision 2 over the coming weeks for consumers across North America, Europe, and APAC.

Available in two device tiers, Dolby Vision 2 builds on the legacy of Dolby Vision to meet the evolving expectations of today’s viewers and unlock the full potential of modern displays while delivering a more authentic and uncompromised picture.

Powering all Dolby Vision 2 TVs:

A powerful new image engine to deliver an enhanced Dolby Vision experience across both new and available Dolby Vision titles.

Content Intelligence is a creative-driven feature that leverages new and existing metadata to further bridge the creative suite to the viewer’s living room. Leveraging precise instructions embedded in every title, it dynamically adjusts the picture based on what you’re watching, so every scene looks its best — from the darkest cinematic moments to the most action-packed sports and games. No remote or complex settings required.

An intensity slider allows users to control the depth and richness of their Dolby Vision 2 experience to compensate for contrast lost by viewing angles or reflections while also enabling more personalization based on individual preferences.

For premium TVs, Dolby Vision 2 Max builds on these benefits even further with unique capabilities designed for the highest-performing displays — including Hisense’s UX, UR9, UR8, and U7 (U7 pro in EU, MEA, CSA) which will be the first TVs in the world to support it. Features include:

Authentic Motion isa world first creative-driven tool that delivers to TVs a more cinematic feel while eliminating unwanted judder and soap opera effects for newly authored titles.

Light Sense 2, which continuously optimizes picture quality for any lighting environment without compromising artistic intent so that even the darkest scenes in a sunlit room become crystal clear.

Pro settings thatgive enthusiasts even more precise control over how their display performs.

After using the Razer Viper V4 Pro for the past several weeks…

After using the Razer Viper V4 Pro for the past several weeks as my primary gaming mouse, it became clear that this was more than a routine hardware refresh. The improvements are subtle individually, but together they create a mouse that feels exceptionally well-tuned for competitive play. Most of my testing was done in Marathon, it didn’t matter what I was doing in-game, the Viper V4 Pro responded exactly as I expected. The transition from my previous mouse was seamless, largely thanks to one feature that quickly became my favorite: Sensitivity Matcher. Rather than spending hours relearning muscle memory, I was able to replicate the feel of my previous setup almost immediately, making the switch feeling natural.

What stood out throughout my testing wasn’t a single headline feature. Instead, it was how every refinement complemented the next. The updated wireless implementation remained consistently responsive, and the new sensor features provided meaningful customization without overcomplicating the experience; the Viper V4 Pro established itself as the mouse I continued reaching for, regardless of what I was playing.

Build Quality

The Viper V4 Pro follows the same symmetrical design philosophy that has defined the series, but every aspect feels more refined. At 49 grams, it’s noticeably lighter than its predecessor without compromising rigidity. The shell feels solid throughout, with no flex, creaking, or movement when pressure is applied. Weight reduction often comes with structural compromises, but that isn’t the case here. Razer has managed to lower the overall weight while maintaining a premium. The shape remains one of the mouse’s strongest attributes. I primarily use a claw grip, occasionally shifting toward fingertip depending on the game, and the Viper V4 Pro accommodated both naturally. Fast flicks, controlled tracking, and smaller micro-adjustments all felt balanced, while the large PTFE feet provided a smooth, predictable glide across my mousepad without introducing unnecessary resistance.

The Gen-4 Optical Mouse Switches are another highlight. Clicks feel crisp with a defined tactile response while maintaining the consistency optical switches are known for. After several weeks of competitive play, I don’t see a practical area where these switches need further refinement. The new optical scroll wheel also performed reliably throughout testing, offering precise, tactile scrolling without skipped inputs or inconsistent behavior during weapon swaps and inventory navigation.

Specification Sheet

Specification

Details

Form Factor

Right-handed Symmetrical

Weight

49g (Black), 50g (White)

Sensor

Razer Focus Pro 50K Optical Sensor Gen-3

Maximum DPI

50,000 DPI

Maximum Speed

930 IPS

Maximum Acceleration

90G

Polling Rate

True 8000Hz (Wired & Wireless)

Connectivity

Razer HyperSpeed Wireless Gen-2, USB Type-C Wired

Battery Life

Up to 180 hours (1000Hz), Up to 45 hours (8000Hz)

Switches

Razer Optical Mouse Switches Gen-4

Switch Lifecycle

100 Million Clicks

Programmable Buttons

8

Mouse Feet

100% PTFE

Onboard Memory

1 Profile

Scroll Wheel

Optical Scroll Wheel

Included Accessories

HyperSpeed Wireless Gen-2 Dongle, USB-A to USB-C Cable, Mouse Grip Tape

MSRP

$159.99

The Viper V4 Pro’s performance became most apparent during my time with Marathon. It’s a game built around constant movement, quick target acquisition, and making small aim corrections under pressure. The mouse consistently kept pace, whether I was tracking players across open sightlines or reacting during close-range encounters. The Focus Pro 50K Gen-3 sensor remained predictable throughout my testing, never introducing acceleration or inconsistencies that pulled me away from the action. More importantly, it maintained that level of precision regardless of whether I was making broad swipes across my mousepad or relying on small wrist adjustments.

The feature I appreciated most was Sensitivity Matcher. Switching to a new mouse usually means spending time rebuilding muscle memory, but that wasn’t the case here. Matching the sensitivity of my previous mouse allowed me to continue playing comfortably from the start, making the transition nearly effortless. It’s one of those features that sounds minor until you use it, particularly if you’ve invested years developing consistent aim. I also found myself keeping Mouse Rotation enabled throughout my testing. Everyone naturally holds a mouse at a slightly different angle, and this feature compensates for that by keeping horizontal movement aligned with your intended direction. It was subtle, but after using it for several weeks, turning it off immediately felt less natural.

Razer’s updated HyperSpeed Wireless Gen-2 platform was equally impressive. Wireless performance remained stable throughout my testing, and I never encountered interruptions or noticeable latency while playing. Combined with true wireless 8000Hz polling, every movement felt immediate without affecting reliability. While many players may not consciously notice the difference between polling rates during casual play, competitive shooters benefit from every reduction in latency, especially when paired with a high refresh rate display. I also appreciated the Smart Polling Rate Switcher within Synapse, allowing the mouse to conserve battery outside of games while automatically switching to maximum performance when needed.

Another feature worth highlighting is Frame Sync. Rather than simply increasing polling frequency, it synchronizes sensor reporting with your system’s rendering cycle to reduce unnecessary latency. It’s not something you’ll immediately identify while looking at a specification sheet, but during gameplay, the overall experience feels remarkably clean and responsive. Together with the updated sensor, HyperPolling, and wireless improvements, the Viper V4 Pro consistently delivered the level of precision I expect from a flagship competitive mouse. Even while frequently using higher polling rates, I rarely found myself thinking about charging the mouse. The efficiency improvements over previous generations make a noticeable difference during extended gaming sessions, allowing me to focus on playing instead of monitoring battery percentages. Combined with the lightweight design, dependable wireless connection, and excellent software implementation, the Viper V4 Pro feels refined in every area that matters.

Review Score: 10/10

It’s rare that I review a gaming mouse and come away without identifying at least one area that could be improved. I genuinely couldn’t find one. Every meaningful aspect of the experience, from the shape and weight to the sensor, switches, wireless performance, and software features, feels carefully considered and exceptionally well executed. Razer focused on refining the fundamentals that competitive players rely on every day. The Viper V4 Pro has become my primary gaming mouse, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. Features like Sensitivity Matcher and Mouse Rotation offered tangible benefits that improved my transition and consistency, while the updated HyperPolling implementation and Focus Pro 50K Gen-3 sensor provided the level of responsiveness I expect during competitive play. Paired with the Huntsman V4 Pro, it creates an input experience that feels cohesive and purpose-built for esports.

Hall Effect keyboards have quickly become some of the most desirable peripherals…

Hall Effect keyboards have quickly become some of the most desirable peripherals for competitive PC gaming. Adjustable actuation and Rapid Trigger once felt like specialized features for enthusiasts, but they now sit at the center of the conversation around faster and more precise input. That growth has also made it harder for any one keyboard to stand out. A modern Hall Effect board needs thoughtful customization, dependable construction, useful software, and features that can make a noticeable difference once a match becomes intense. The Razer Huntsman V3 HE Magnetic Mini 65% 8KHz has been my primary keyboard for the past couple of weeks, and it earned that position almost immediately–there are different size options from full size and 75% as well. I have spent much of that time playing Bungie’s Marathon, where movement can decide whether a Cryo Archive run ends in a successful extraction or the loss of everything I carried into the match. The Huntsman gave me the size I prefer, the speed I expected, and a level of directional control that suited Marathon exceptionally well.

Compact Design, Complete Build

The 65% form factor is the version I wanted because it gives me the essentials without occupying more space than necessary–plus I stream so the more the merrier. It retains dedicated arrow keys while removing the number pad and function row, creating more room for broad mouse movements as well. That extra space is particularly useful in shooters, where a lower sensitivity can demand long sweeps across the pad, especially since I play at low sense. The secondary functions are arranged well enough that I never felt stranded without the keys removed from a larger layout. Six onboard profiles also give the compact design more flexibility, including default configurations for Rapid Trigger, analog WASD, racing, and high-sensitivity use.

Its small footprint does not come with a lightweight or disposable feel. The 5052 aluminum-alloy top case gives the Huntsman a firm structure, while the textured doubleshot PBT keycaps feel durable and resist the slick finish that develops on cheaper ABS caps. Multilayer internal foam helps soften the sound profile, and the pre-lubed stabilizers keep the larger keys composed. This remains a gaming keyboard with a direct, responsive character, though it avoids the hollow resonance I sometimes hear from compact boards. Per-key Chroma RGB shines clearly through the legends, the detachable USB-C cable makes transport simple, and the complete package feels appropriately premium for $119.99.

Hall Effect Performance

Razer is finally dipping into the HE market! Their Hall Effect Magnetic Switches continuously measure key travel, allowing each key’s actuation point to be adjusted anywhere between 0.1 and 4.0 mm. I could make movement keys extremely sensitive while leaving other inputs deeper to reduce accidental presses. That separation matters more than applying one aggressive setting across the entire keyboard. Once I dialed in the board around my habits, the keys felt tailored to me instead of forcing my hands to accommodate a fixed switch. This was particularly useful for Marathon as I have my X key for quick item use and C as grenade throw–I often accidentally click C when attempting a quick heal, which can interrupt a run rather badly.

Rapid Trigger resets a key according to its upward movement rather than making it return to a fixed reset point. In practice, repeated movement inputs feel immediate and directional changes require less wasted travel. The true 8,000 Hz polling rate allows the keyboard to report inputs far more frequently than a conventional 1,000 Hz model. Razer rates the board at an average latency of 0.6 ms under its testing conditions. Hardware, game performance, and display refresh rate still influence the complete response chain, so I would not pretend that a specification alone transforms anyone’s ability. What I consistently felt was a fast, predictable keyboard that never seemed to trail behind my intentions. Every press registered cleanly throughout my testing, with no missed inputs or inconsistent behavior.

Built for Marathon’s Most Dangerous Runs

Marathon became the ideal test because its PvP asks for more than accurate shooting. Cryo Archive runs can become chaotic when squads converge around valuable objectives, and every corner presents a decision: commit to the fight, bait an opponent into revealing a position, or break contact before the situation collapses. Snap Tap made left-to-right transitions feel exceptionally clean by prioritizing the intended input within a paired set. During quick peeks and strafing exchanges, I could reverse direction without the brief uncertainty caused by overlapping A and D presses. The keyboard did not make decisions for me. It made my physical input easier to express at the speed the encounter demanded. Snap Tap supports as many as four stored pairs and offers several behaviors, including last input, neutral, left priority, right priority, and actuation-depth comparison. That range lets players choose how conflicting presses should resolve instead of being locked to one method. My greatest appreciation, however, went to Dual-Keypress Priority. If I was holding W and A for diagonal movement and then pressed D, the keyboard maintained my current movement until I released A. That logic kept directional transitions controlled during close vault fights, especially when I was weaving around cover and managing several keys under pressure. It shouldn’t take much to get used to that if you were always letting go of each individual key expertly.

Snap Flex binds two inputs to one press so they activate together, which can improve the consistency of actions that normally require near-simultaneous keys. That means you can bind grenade and jump into one key–which is insane. Dynamic Keystroke goes deeper by supporting up to four actions on a key, with two triggered during the press and another two during release. I did not depend on either feature as heavily as Snap Tap or Dual-Keypress Priority, but their inclusion completes the package. They provide room for experimentation across different games and playstyles without compromising the straightforward experience I wanted in Marathon. Razer has assembled a set of tools with distinct purposes instead of several names for the same basic behavior.

Customization Without Friction

Razer Synapse provides the deepest level of control over actuation, Rapid Trigger sensitivity, Snap Tap pairs, lighting, profiles, and the board’s more advanced functions. The keyboard also supports quick onboard adjustments, so important changes do not always require diving into an application. Once I created the setup I wanted, I could store it on the keyboard and move on. That is how peripheral software should operate: useful during configuration and easy to forget afterward. Synapse Web adds a browser-based option for essential changes without requiring the full desktop installation. That is convenient for players who move between computers, travel with the Mini, or want to make a quick adjustment on another system. Razer also includes on-demand calibration for the Hall Effect switches. Magnetic switches can gradually deviate because of environmental conditions or magnet aging, so having a way to recalibrate them helps protect the consistency that makes adjustable actuation valuable in the first place.

Outside of competitive matches, the Huntsman remained comfortable for writing, browsing, and regular desktop work. A 65% layout naturally requires some adjustment if someone relies heavily on a number pad or dedicated function row, but the size feels natural to me. The 40 g average actuation force keeps presses light, while a deeper actuation setting can prevent typing from becoming overly sensitive. I could make the gaming keys aggressive without turning every sentence into a minefield of accidental characters. The strongest compliment I can give the Huntsman is that I stopped thinking about reviewing it. It simply stayed on my desk. Its compact body opened space around my mouse, the switches responded exactly as configured, and the build never gave me a reason to question its longevity. I began each Marathon session thinking about my loadout, squad, and route through Cryo Archive rather than the hardware beneath my hands. A great peripheral supports the experience and then fades out of mind. This keyboard accomplished that within days.

REVIEW SCORE: 10/10

A perfect score sits well with this keyboard as I have zero issues with it. The Razer Huntsman V3 HE Magnetic 8KHz combines form factor with durable materials, an excellent Hall Effect implementation, extensive onboard customization, and competitive functions that proved useful during actual play. At $119.99, it also delivers this feature set at a price that makes the package even more impressive.

Review Code Provided By XBOX

Few games have shaped the first-person shooter genre the way Halo: Combat Evolved did in 2001. It wasn’t the first great FPS, but it was the game that convinced millions that the genre belonged on consoles just as much as it did on PC. Intelligent enemy AI, an open-ended sandbox, memorable weapons, and one of gaming’s most iconic soundtracks laid the foundation for a franchise that would define Xbox for decades. Twenty-five years later, Halo: Campaign Evolved arrives with an entirely different goal. Rather than remastering Bungie’s classic once again, Halo Studios has rebuilt the original campaign from the ground up in Unreal Engine 5. The mission structure remains familiar, the combat sandbox still revolves around player choice, and Master Chief’s first adventure remains intact. The objective to reinvent Halo: Combat Evolved is a hard task, but Halo Studios, formally known as 343 Studios, mastered it in a way that not only honors the original game, but elevates it to a standard that isn’t matched yet in modern remakes.

Having played through the campaign on both PlayStation 5 Pro and PC equipped with an RTX 4090, I came away far too impressed by how confidently Halo Studios approached that challenge. The visual leap is extraordinary, the gameplay refinements feel natural, and the campaign remains every bit as engaging as I remembered, and more. More importantly, it never feels like the developers were trying to replace the original. That perspective also makes some of the conversation surrounding this release difficult to understand. Since it’s release, social media has been filled with claims that Campaign Evolved somehow diminishes Bungie’s original work or that it has become some kind of “DEI disaster.” This is a blatant lie in almost every respect and a reminder that the gaming community today (more specifically, Twitter-space and Reddit) are some of the most miserable people on the planet. Those criticisms feel detached from what is actually on screen. They focus on outrage rather than the quality of the game itself, and I don’t believe they contribute anything meaningful to gaming discussions. There are some actual criticism to be had with Campaign Evolved, like the removal of MP, some color changes with the Covenant’s ship being too bright, giving some tonal shifts that’s probably too much, or even the writing for the 3 bonus missions—but that doesn’t mean the entire package is a disaster, far from it.

Halo Studios’ transition to Unreal Engine 5 has already generated plenty of discussion, and after spending dozens of hours with the game across two platforms, I believe it was absolutely the right move. Rather than chasing just photorealism for its own sake, the developers have used UE5 to elevate Halo’s existing identity. Every environment feels unmistakably Halo, only now realized with a level of fidelity that simply wasn’t possible before. The opening moments on the Pillar of Autumn immediately demonstrate that philosophy; just seeing it warp-in from space in real time in such a way with all the mega-light tech in full glory was just astounding to me. During gameplay, familiar corridors now feature layered materials, physically accurate reflections, Lumen raytraced lighting and shadows that sets the mood better than the original ever could is something to behold, especially when comparing to the original Xbox version. UNSC technology finally possesses the industrial weight that Bungie’s art direction always implied, same with Forerunner and Covenant. This game is also the first to ship with UE5’s Mega Lights, a raytraced light tech on individual light sources that reacts to the environment in ways we haven’t seen (or appreciated) before; warning alarms bounce realistically throughout hallways, plasma weaponry illuminates entire rooms with convincing indirect lighting same with fire sources and sparks from gunfire. It’s actually quite a sight.

The original game delivered stunning vistas for 2001. Campaign Evolved transforms those same landscapes into some of the most visually striking environments the series has ever produced. 343 Guilty Spark is the mission that really made me question if I ever played the original because while it is a mission from the original, the sheer density of its vegetation and Lumen lighting was just astronomically striking I had to see for myself the difference. Dynamic global illumination fundamentally changes how each mission feels. Forerunner structures, once illuminated primarily through baked lighting, now feel mysterious and alive as light interacts dynamically throughout every chamber. Digital Foundry is where I go to see how much the tech has improved and while they were hyper critical with the MCC version of the remaster, they praised Halo Studios’ implementation in Campaign Evolved as one of the strongest examples of Unreal Engine 5 currently available, and it’s easy to understand why. Halo’s visual design complements the engine remarkably well—the franchise benefits from UE5’s strengths without sacrificing the artistic identity that has defined the franchise for decades.

This is right down to the audio of the game as well—classic musical themes retain their emotional impact while benefiting from improved clarity and spatial mixing. Marty O’Donnell and Michael Salvatori’s legendary soundtrack continues to elevate nearly every encounter, and Halo Studios wisely resisted the temptation to overproduce what was already one of gaming’s finest scores. Weapon audio carries greater weight, explosions feel more impactful, and environmental ambience adds another layer of immersion throughout the campaign.

On PlayStation 5 Pro, the game delivered an impressively stable experience with sharp image quality and smooth frame pacing thanks to PSSR 2. The enhanced hardware allows Unreal Engine 5’s lighting and environmental detail to shine while maintaining responsiveness during even the largest encounters. On PC with an RTX 4090, the experience becomes even more remarkable. Higher image quality, increased draw distances, cleaner reflections, and exceptional performance make this arguably the definitive technical showcase for Halo: Campaign Evolved. That doesn’t mean Unreal Engine 5 is flawless. Occasionally, familiar UE5 artifacts appear. Minor ghosting during rapid movement, subtle shimmering in certain materials, and occasional temporal instability remind you which engine is powering the experience. These moments are infrequent enough that they rarely distract from gameplay, and they certainly don’t overshadow what Halo Studios has accomplished here.

Differences vs. the Original

Remaking a game as beloved as Halo: Combat Evolved comes with an impossible balancing act. Lean too heavily into nostalgia and you risk delivering little more than a visual facelift. Change too much, and longtime fans begin asking whether they’re still playing Halo at all. Halo Studios manages to thread that needle remarkably well. Campaign Evolved respects Bungie’s original blueprint while making enough meaningful refinements that revisiting Installation 04 feels fresh again. The core mission structure remains largely intact, and that’s exactly what I wanted. Iconic levels like Halo, The Silent Cartographer, Assault on the Control Room, 343 Guilty Spark, and The Maw still hit the same memorable beats that have defined the series for decades. You know where you’re going, you remember the objectives, and yet almost every mission feels revitalized because the spaces themselves have been reimagined with modern scale and detail. Environmental storytelling is one of the biggest beneficiaries of the remake. The original Halo relied heavily on atmosphere, allowing players to piece together much of the world through exploration rather than exposition. Campaign Evolved expands upon that philosophy with additional visual details that make every location feel more believable. The biggest improvement in this aspect is The Library, a notoriously hated level—it has been restructured in pacing by having you start from the top to work your way down, with each floor varying in layout and enemy types and density. You slowly see the infection of the Flood take over the structure as you descend, something that wasn’t present in the original, giving you the sense of danger and atmosphere the game needs to tell an immersive story. It’s this kind of changes and improvements throughout the project that shows the love and dedication Halo Studios has for the franchise, and I admire that greatly.

The cinematics deserve equal recognition. Rather than recreating every shot frame for frame, Halo Studios introduces more dynamic camera work, stronger facial performances, and smoother transitions that better connect gameplay with story moments. Characters communicate far more through expression than they ever could in 2001, which is the franchises core storytelling technique, it’s just elevated here due to better cinematography and fidelity; the dialogue remains familiar enough that longtime fans immediately recognize every scene. I appreciate that Halo Studios resisted the temptation to overcorrect certain aspects of the original. Enemy placements remain recognizable. Weapon locations still encourage experimentation. Vehicle sections preserve the controlled chaos that made them memorable in the first place. Veterans will constantly recognize familiar encounters while still discovering new visual details hidden throughout each mission.

This is where I find myself disagreeing with some of the louder criticism surrounding Campaign Evolved. I’ve seen claims that this remake somehow misunderstands Halo or that it’s a fundamentally worse experience than Combat Evolved. I simply don’t share that opinion. The original game remains a landmark achievement, but this remake doesn’t diminish it. If anything, it reinforces why Bungie’s design has endured for twenty-five years.

Gameplay Improvements

Halo’s combat sandbox has always been its greatest strength, and Campaign Evolved wisely understands that the formula never needed a complete overhaul. Instead, Halo Studios modernizes the experience through dozens of carefully considered refinements that make combat feel smoother without compromising its identity. Master Chief feels heavier, more responsive, and significantly more fluid to control. Traversing environments is faster without becoming twitchy, and every animation blends naturally into the next. Sprint has been integrated thoughtfully, allowing players to cover larger spaces without disrupting encounter balance. Combat retains the deliberate decision-making that separates Halo from many modern shooters. Shields still dictate the flow of engagements on higher difficulties. Grunts panic when their leaders fall. Jackals reposition behind cover instead of standing still. Elites aggressively flank, retreat when shields collapse, and punish reckless pushes with surprising consistency. Hunters remain intimidating walls of muscle that demand patience. The AI feels smarter not because enemies suddenly become unfair, but because Halo Studios has refined behaviors while preserving the personality that made every Covenant species distinct. That philosophy is why Halo’s encounters remain so satisfying all these years later.

Classic weapons retain their familiar roles while feeling more responsive thanks to improved hit detection, cleaner animations, and stronger audiovisual feedback. The Assault Rifle remains dependable at close range, the Magnum still rewards precision, the Plasma Pistol continues to dismantle shields with satisfying efficiency, and power weapons carry the same battlefield presence fans expect. Driving the Warthog feels tighter without losing the controlled unpredictability that made it so entertaining, same with Ghosts, Scorpions, and Banshees all benefit from improved handling that makes extended vehicle sequences more enjoyable than ever.

In a lot of ways, Campaign Evolved also feels easier thanks to checkpoints feeling more forgiving. Companion AI is more reliable during larger encounters. I did turn off a lot of HUD indicators such as last enemies or objective markers and weapon drop icons. While I appreciate the intent behind it, it felt a little disrespectful to me as a player—why would anyone think I can’t find my way around a linear game is beyond me. The three new bonus missions expand the campaign’s scope, provide additional combat scenarios with some Halo 2 weapons and enemies, and offer a bit of context with its story and world building which stumbles heavily in my opinion. The original campaign trusted players to absorb its world through observation. Characters often allowed situations to unfold naturally, letting environments, pacing, and player discovery carry much of the narrative weight. The bonus missions occasionally move away from that philosophy. Characters spend more time explaining obvious emotional story beats directly rather than allowing players to experience those moments for themselves. Sergeant Williams clearly has hate towards Spartans and you can tell by her expressions and body language—having Sergeant Johnson reiterate that feeling verbally removes the weight of that tense moment and makes it almost comical. This is consistent throughout the 3 missions, that shift makes the storytelling feel less subtle than the base campaign and, in particular, reduces some of the impact of Williams, whose characterization never reaches the same level of authenticity or emotional resonance we’d come to expect from a Halo game.

REVIEW SCORE: 8.5/10

Halo: Campaign Evolved is at the top with the rest of the remake echelons—Halo Studios reinvents the game in such a way that’s honorable, one that I am eager to get a 100% on. Not having multiplayer, though, is a big blow for me—and while the 3 bonus missions didn’t hit the mark either, they were fun to play and see. Halo in UE5 feels like home and it looks outstanding—this is a very easy recommend for new players and especially for longtime fans like myself.

With us hitting mid point of summer and depending what part of the country you live in, its almost back to school for various students. Bose has unveiled a couple of new colors to celebrate this that are poised to bring in some 90s nostalgia.

First to start off is Dewdrop Mint which they mention “evokes the cool, playful feeling of mint ice cream on a summer afternoon“.

A Premium SSD Enclosure That Earned a Permanent Spot in My Gaming…

A Premium SSD Enclosure That Earned a Permanent Spot in My Gaming Setup

External SSD enclosures usually fall into one of two categories. They either focus entirely on performance while feeling like a generic aluminum box, or they lean into flashy aesthetics without offering much reason to choose them over cheaper alternatives. The ROG Strix Aiolos immediately caught my attention because it aims to bridge that gap.

Over the past several days, it has become part of my daily gaming workflow. I rotated it between my desktop gaming PC, my ROG Ally X, and my gaming laptop. My goal wasn’t to benchmark every transfer speed. I wanted to know whether it actually made gaming more convenient. That’s the kind of experience most people buying an enclosure are after. After living with it, I came away genuinely impressed. The Aiolos isn’t trying to reinvent external storage. Instead, ASUS refined nearly every aspect that matters, from build quality to thermals to ease of use, resulting in one of the nicest premium SSD enclosures I’ve used.

Specifications

USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 interface (up to 20Gbps)

Supports M.2 NVMe PCIe and SATA SSDs

Compatible with 2242, 2260, and 2280 SSDs

Tool-free installation

Internal thermal pad with liquid silicone exterior

Aura Sync RGB lighting

ROG SSD Dashboard software

USB-C connectivity

Braided USB-C cable included

Compatible with Windows 10, Windows 11, and macOS

Many SSD enclosures are extremely light, almost to the point where they feel disposable. The Aiolos has real substance to it. It feels dense without becoming bulky. Picking it up immediately gives the impression that ASUS wasn’t chasing the lowest manufacturing cost. The outer silicone coating quickly became one of my favorite design decisions. It adds grip, protects the enclosure from scratches, and makes it comfortable to carry around. More importantly, it never became unpleasantly hot during extended gaming sessions.

ASUS also includes a reinforced braided USB-C cable instead of the thin generic cables that often accompany storage accessories. It sounds like a small detail, but it complements the premium feel of the package. The RGB lighting is tasteful. I normally don’t care much about RGB on storage devices because they’re usually tucked behind monitors or sitting underneath desks. In this case, the lighting is subtle enough that it adds personality without becoming distracting.

Installation Takes Less Than a Minute

One of my favorite aspects of the Aiolos is just how simple it is to install a drive.

The push-to-open mechanism makes accessing the SSD compartment incredibly easy. I installed my drive in under a minute, closed everything back up, and was ready to go. That may sound like a small convenience, but anyone who regularly swaps drives between systems will appreciate it. Whether you’re upgrading storage, carrying multiple SSDs for work, or moving games between machines, that ease of use quickly becomes one of the enclosure’s biggest strengths.

Throughout testing, I regularly moved it between three completely different platforms:

My desktop gaming PC

My gaming laptop

My ASUS ROG Ally X

That flexibility ended up becoming the feature I appreciated the most. Instead of downloading the same games multiple times, I simply carried my storage library with me. Large installs copied quickly enough that I never found myself waiting around wondering when transfers would finish. Loading game captures, moving review assets, copying screenshots, and transferring footage all felt responsive throughout my testing. As someone who reviews hardware and games almost daily, that’s exactly what I want from external storage. Thermals are often overlooked when discussing SSD enclosures. Fast NVMe drives generate plenty of heat under sustained workloads. If an enclosure can’t keep temperatures under control, performance begins to fall as thermal throttling kicks in. ASUS clearly designed around that concern. The Aiolos combines an internal thermal pad with its heat-resistant silicone exterior to help dissipate heat during long transfers. Even after moving large game files and spending extended periods connected to multiple systems, I never encountered instability or noticeable slowdowns.

I also appreciate that the enclosure never became uncomfortable to handle. Some aluminum enclosures become surprisingly hot during prolonged transfers. That wasn’t my experience here. Although ASUS markets the Aiolos toward gamers, I found it equally useful for productivity. As a reviewer, I constantly move high-resolution screenshots, gameplay captures, review footage, and installation files between systems. The Aiolos made that process effortless, but gaming remained its biggest strength, though. Having quick access to my game library while bouncing between my desktop and ROG Ally X genuinely made my setup feel more flexible. It eliminated unnecessary downloads and made transitioning between systems much smoother. For handheld gaming especially, having reliable portable storage is becoming increasingly valuable as game sizes continue to grow.

Utility Maximized

Rather than simply acting as an enclosure, ASUS gives users software that can monitor SSD health and status in real time. It’s not something everyone will use daily, but enthusiasts who like keeping tabs on their hardware will appreciate having those tools available without relying on third-party utilities. The ROG Strix Aiolos feels like one of those products that quietly improves your everyday setup. It doesn’t rely on flashy marketing gimmicks or exaggerated claims. Instead, it focuses on delivering a premium experience from the moment you open the box.

The build quality is excellent. Installation is genuinely effortless. Performance remained dependable throughout my testing, and moving between my desktop, gaming laptop, and ROG Ally X became noticeably more convenient. There are certainly less expensive SSD enclosures on the market, and many of them will accomplish the same basic task. The difference is that the Aiolos feels like a product built with enthusiasts in mind. Every design choice, from the tool-free access to the cooling solution and premium materials, contributes to an experience that simply feels more refined. After several days of using it as part of my everyday gaming setup, I found myself reaching for it without thinking. That’s usually the biggest compliment I can give any accessory. When hardware blends naturally into your workflow, it has done its job exceptionally well.

While there are those that get excited for the start of the…

While there are those that get excited for the start of the year when Samsung does its yearly Galaxy S series launch there are others equally excited for the Galaxy Z Fold launch as well.

For the current iteration, Samsung has streamlined its clamshell portfolio to a single device, the Galaxy Z Flip8, while expanding the Z Fold series to include two distinct form factors. The Galaxy Z Fold8 offers a more compact and pocketable design, featuring a 7.6-inch internal display and a 5.5-inch external screen. Conversely, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is engineered for maximum productivity, incorporating an 8-inch unfolded display alongside a 6.5-inch folded display. Both models are powered by the advanced Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor.

Similarly, the Galaxy Z Flip8 utilizes the same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset. This device is equipped with a 6.9-inch main display and a 4.1-inch cover display.

Each of these new models introduces Samsung’s proprietary Flex Titanium technology, which enables a thinner profile without compromising structural integrity. Notably, the implementation of this technology has effectively eliminated the visible display crease on both the Galaxy Z Fold8 and the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra.

The all-new Galaxy Z series opens a new chapter in foldables with three distinct experiences designed for Ultra productivity, immersive discovery, and self-expression

LONDON, UK – July 22, 2026 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today unveiled the new Galaxy Z series, an expanded lineup, designed to expand foldables to a wider audience. The lineup introduces Galaxy Z Fold8, a fresh and exciting form factor that provides a new kind of foldable experience built around the way people explore, discover, and immerse themselves in their favorite content.
The lineup also includes Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, which brings Galaxy’s renowned Ultra standard to foldables with maximum productivity and content creation in a larger workspace.
Over the past three weeks, the eufy SmartTrack Card E40 has become…

Over the past three weeks, the eufy SmartTrack Card E40 has become a permanent addition to my everyday carry, and there’s a very personal reason why. A few years ago, I lost my wallet containing nearly every important card I carried—my driver’s license, credit cards, debit cards, insurance cards, and several other essentials. While I was fortunate enough to recover it eventually, the process of replacing everything was frustrating, time-consuming, and something I never wanted to experience again. Since then, I’ve become far more conscious about protecting the things I carry every day. That’s exactly what drew me to the SmartTrack Card E40. Its ultra-slim credit card design fits naturally inside a wallet without adding bulk, while support for Apple’s Find My network and Google’s Find Hub gives it broad compatibility regardless of which smartphone ecosystem you use. Add in wireless charging and months of battery life, and it promises a level of convenience that fits seamlessly into everyday life.

After carrying the SmartTrack Card E40 with me every day for more than three weeks, it has become one of those products I rarely think about—which, for a tracker, is exactly how it should be. It’s always there when I need it, quietly providing peace of mind every time I leave the house.

Design

The first thing that stood out was how thin the SmartTrack Card E40 actually is. At only 1.7mm thick, it slides into a standard card slot naturally and feels almost indistinguishable from another credit card. Even after carrying it daily, my wallet never felt thicker or more uncomfortable in my pocket. Build quality is excellent. The card feels rigid enough to inspire confidence while remaining lightweight. It never shifted around inside my wallet or felt fragile during everyday use. The sealed construction also adds peace of mind when carrying it through daily commutes, travel, or unexpected weather.

Wireless charging is one of my favorite additions. Instead of dealing with disposable batteries or proprietary charging accessories, I simply placed it on one of the Qi chargers already sitting on my desk. It’s a small convenience that makes ownership considerably easier over the long term.

Features

The SmartTrack Card E40 supports both Apple’s Find My network and Google’s Find Hub platform, giving users the flexibility to choose the ecosystem that matches their smartphone. Setup was straightforward, and once paired, locating the card through the respective network became effortless. Bluetooth 5.1 provides reliable nearby detection, while the built-in speaker is loud enough to hear from another room when searching around the house. I found myself relying on the audible alert more often than expected, especially when my wallet disappeared between couch cushions or underneath paperwork on my desk.

Apple users also benefit from Left Behind notifications, providing another layer of protection by alerting you before accidentally leaving your wallet behind. Combined with worldwide crowdsourced tracking, the SmartTrack Card E40 offers confidence that extends well beyond your home.

Performance

Throughout my three weeks of testing, the SmartTrack Card E40 proved dependable. Bluetooth detection remained responsive during nearby searches, and triggering the built-in speaker consistently helped narrow down my wallet’s location within seconds. The speaker produces enough volume to be heard without becoming unpleasantly loud. Battery life has also been excellent. After several weeks of daily use, the rechargeable battery still had plenty of capacity remaining. Knowing I can simply place it on a wireless charger every few months instead of replacing a battery is a genuine quality-of-life improvement that I appreciated more than I initially expected.

The slim profile also proved invaluable during travel. Because it occupies a standard card slot, I never had to think about making room for it or adjusting how I carried my wallet. It simply became another card until I needed it. One limitation worth mentioning is that the SmartTrack Card E40 does not include Ultra Wideband precision finding. Instead, it relies on Bluetooth proximity and the Apple Find My or Google Find Hub networks. For a tracker this thin, however, I never viewed that as a major drawback. The primary purpose is helping recover lost essentials while remaining practically invisible inside your wallet, and it accomplishes that exceptionally well.

Final Thoughts

The eufy SmartTrack Card E40 succeeds because it focuses on the experience rather than unnecessary complexity. Its ultra-slim design, wireless charging, dependable tracking, and support for both Apple Find My and Google Find Hub make it one of the most practical wallet trackers I’ve used. After carrying it every day for more than three weeks, it became one of those products I stopped thinking about because it simply worked. That’s exactly what I want from a tracker. It stays out of the way until I need it, and when I do, it responds quickly and reliably.

For anyone looking to protect their wallet, passport holder, luggage, or everyday carry without adding bulk, the eufy SmartTrack Card E40 is an easy recommendation. It delivers thoughtful improvements in the areas that matter most and fits naturally into everyday life.
