First, you’ve got the addition of quad core processor, in the form of company’s own 1.4 GHz Exynos 4 Quad. It also runs on Android 4.0 ‘Ice Cream Sandwich’, but as expected it will feature Samsung’s custom Touchwiz user interface. Company revealed that the brand new version of Touchwiz offers added functionality, including S-Beam, Smart Stay and S Voice, plus a ‘pop-up video’ feature that allows you to view a video while doing other tasks.

Smart Stay uses the smartphone front camera to identify when your eyes are looking at the display and keeps the display bright for optimal viewing. On the other hand, S Voice is like a Siri competitor and responds to voice commands. Lastly, S-Beam is an upgraded version Ice Cream Sandwich’s inbuilt Android Beam. It allows you to quickly transfer files between phones using the near field communication technology.

“With the Galaxy S III, Samsung has maximized the consumer benefits by integrating superior hardware with enhanced smartphone usability,” said JK Shin, President and Head of IT & Mobile Communications Division at Samsung.

“Designed to be both effortlessly smart and intuitively simple, the Galaxy S III has been created with our human needs and capabilities in mind. What makes me most proud is that it enables one of the most seamless, natural and human-centric mobile experiences, opening up a new horizon that allows you to live a life extraordinary,” he added.

Coming to other features of the smartphone, Samsung Galaxy S III will have a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED 720p display, 8-megapixel rear camera, and 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera. While both front and rear camera in the smartphone features a zero-lag shutter speed, the rear camera also comes with the ‘Burst shot’ function that instantly captures twenty continuous shots.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 will be available from May 29 in Europe before rolling out to other markets globally. Company has also planned a big ten city marketing tour for the smartphone, which will kick-off on the same day.

Mayweather vs Cotto fight is going to happen on May 5, 2012 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Floyd Mayweather is the number one Welterweight and Miguel Cotto is the number one Junior Middleweight squaring off against each other. Mayweather (42-0, 26 KOs) is of course a flashy, outspoken seven-time world champion. Cotto (36-2, 29 KOs) is one of Puerto Rico’s biggest boxing superstars.

Mayweather vs Cotto, both parties have agreed to undergo Olympic style drug testing – a precedent set by Mayweather himself. Mayweather will take on Cotto at 154 pounds, a step up in weight for the WBA super welterweight belt. He is coming off a 10th-round knockout win over Antonio Margarito in December 2011. On the other hand, Mayweather’s last fight was a 4th-round win over Victor Ortiz last September 2011. In over 2 years, he has only fought in 4 rounds.

Do you think Mayweather is going to have problems with Cotto? As far as boxing ring, Mayweather will run circles around Miguel Cotto. I don’t care if he says that Cotto is an undefeated fighter, Cotto got his spirit broken twice, first by Margarito and then by Pacquiao. Mayweather is a master at finding weaknesses in his opponents and he will expose Cotto as a broken down has been and stop him late in the fight. Mayweather is known for his great footwork and speed as well as his unmatched boxing skills. He is highly favored to win. However, Miguel Cotto has a lot of skills, himself.

Cotto does have problems with guys that bring the fight and pressure to him, but Floyd won’t do it. Miguel eats slick boxers for breakfast. Miguel will give problems to Floyd with his shot gun jab and he will try to break him down with ribcage rattling body shots. That new trainer from Cuba gave Miguel renewed confidence in his skills and abilities, plus they will be fighting at 154 pounds with Cotto being stronger and bigger man

Cotto, 31, said he would take that added confidence into the ring against Mayweather. Although he’s the champion, Cotto is a heavy underdog, with many feeling Mayweather possesses superior speed and counter-punching ability.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is 35 years old. He has a record of 42 wins and 0 losses with 26 Knockouts – including TKOs. He has a weight of 147 lbs, a height of 5 feet 8 inches and a reach of 72 inches. Miguel Cotto is 31 years old. He has a record of 37 wins and 2 losses with 32 knockouts. He is 5 feet 7 inches tall, weights in at 154 lbs and has a reach of 67 inches. Both fighters are known to be quick on their feet, both using the Orthodox stance. Mayweather is a very good counter-puncher. Cotto is a solid 154-pound champion who displays great footwork and goes for quick strong punches. The Mayweather vs Cotto will be seen on HBO Pay Per View live on May 5, 2012.

In an interview, revealed by Michael Koncz, Pacquiao’s Canadian adviser, agreed that the eight-division Filipino world champion to fight with Bradley. Pacquiao vs Bradley is one of the anticipated fight of the year.

Koncz said he expects to be gone also be a problem with Bradley’s camp, the current undefeated (WBO) Junior welterweight titlist.

“I do not assume there will be a problem from the Bradley side. We came to terms with Top Rank on the fight and Manny has approved everything, “said Koncz. “This morning I had a number of conversations with Bob negotiating the June 9 fight and I relayed everything to Manny.”

The 33-year-old Pacquiao left behind because Floyd Mayweather Jr. select Miguel Cotto for his May 5 fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, while Juan Manuel Marquez will probably face Lamont Peterson in July. The winner of that fight will face Manny Pacquiao in November bout.

Pacquiao carried 53-3-2 win-loss-draw record also includes 38 knockouts compared to 28-0-0 (12 KOs) slate of 28-year-old Bradley.

“We are going to be having conversations with Bradley and Further His management early this week and hopefully finalize the deal,” said Top Rank president Todd duBoef. “But the truth is my agreement with Bradley Certain lays out parameters for a Pacquiao fight, so there is a framework already.”

Called ‘Desert Storm’, defeated Bradley by Joel Casamayor of Cuba via eighth-round TKO on the undercard of Pacquiao-Marquez III on November 12.

“Bradley is a young, undefeated fighter who deserves a chance,” said Koncz with Bradley, compelled to seize the WBO welterweight crown wearing Pacquiao.

The Pacquiao vs Bradley Tickets will go on sale Next Friday! Do you smell that…Christmas is just around the corners guys! Ahh, I’m so excited about it, my favorite holidays of the year. “Misa de Gallo” is the Spanish phrase for Midnight Mass. The phrase literally means “Roosters Mass”. These nine dawn Masses, the church bells start ringing as early as four o’clock in the morning. The masses end on Dec. 24, Christmas Eve, with the “Misa de Gallo” (rooster’s mass) at midnight. We Filipinos are proud to proclaim our Christmas celebration to be the longest and merriest in the world. Going to mass this early for nine consecutive days is meant to show the churchgoer’s devotion to his faith and to heighten anticipation for the Nativity of the Lord. “Simbang Gabi is a tradition that started in the Philippines when we were under Spain (1521-1898).

It’s been already stamped to us since our forefathers and passes to our next generation. The change of times does not break the preservation of celebrating Simbang Gabi. A traditional Filipino belief, however, is that those who complete the novena will have a special wish or favor granted by God.

The votive masses are held not only in the Philippines but in other countries where there are Filipino communities. But whether the masses are celebrated early in the morning or at night, whether in the Philippines or elsewhere in the world, the reason for celebrating remains the same – we prepare for the Birth of our Savior Jesus Christ.

After the mass, there is another old custom: the partaking of native delicacies sold in stalls outside the church like rice cakes (bibingka), puto bungbong, and suman taken with ginger tea (salabat), coffee or hot chocolate. But we should not overlook the meaning of Simbang Gabi to us. It is not just the custom that is distinguished because we need to do so.

It is important not only it supports relationships among family members but also because it is the stage where our devotion is strengthened. This is the phase where we generally feel the presence of our God because it is the spiritual preparation for Christmas, the birth of Jesus. It doesn’t matter if you couldn’t complete the novena, what really important is what is deep inside our heart.

The BSP special Jose Rizal P1 coin has been approved to release by the office of the Philippine president and the BSP Monetary Board. According to BSP, ten million pieces of the new Jose Rizal P1 peso coin will be issued this December for our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal. The new designed P1 coin will have a new angle of the national hero, having his face bigger to occupy most of the coin’s surface area. The Jose Rizal P1 coin is of the same size and weight as the one-peso coin now in circulation —24 millimeters in diameter at 5.35 grams. On the face of the grayish, nickel-plated coin is the portrait of Rizal, with the words “150 years,” “Republika ng Pilipinas,” and the years “1861-2011” etched on it. The reverse side carries the new BSP seal, “1-piso,” and “2011.”

Last October, the new security feature of Philippines “New Generation Currency” banknotes won the Best New Currency Feature during the 2011 Currency Conference which held in Singapore. The Philippines New Generation banknotes were launched last December last year, and featured new designs for the P20, P50, P100, P200, P500 and P1,000 notes and new security features to prevent counterfeiting.

Miguel Cotto, 30 years of age and with a professional boxing record of 36 win 2 losses and 29 KO’s , while Antonio Margarito now 33 years of age and with a professional boxing record of 38 wins 7 losses and 27 KO’s. not to mention Margarito is the man who dethroned Miguel Cotto as WBA welterweight champion by knocking him out on the 11th round of their match on July of 2008 for Margarito this a way to redeem himself from the disputes surrounded him because he was caught using illegal loaded gloves when he fight Mosley andthere was also suspicions that he also using a loaded glove against Cotto the last time they fought inside the Ring last 2008. We will now if Margarito will win convincingly now so which means Miguel Cotto vs Antonio Margarito 2 is really interesting to follow. The clash of the world’s two best middleweights also brings on the rich custom of battles between Mexico and Puerto Rico greats.

This Miguel Cotto vs Antonio Margarito 2 fight is something special. Cotto, has emerged as one of the most noticeable athlete. Margarito, was born in California and grew up in Tijuana. Both Cotto and Margarito bring an aggressive style to the ring marked by explosive punching power, a potent left hook and a good chin. Margarito could have trouble trying to counter a relentless attack to the body by Cotto, who has appeared particularly strong since moving to welterweight from 140 pounds in 2006.

Cotto demonstrated his resilience and durability in brutally physical encounters with Zab Judah and Shane Mosley last year. Relying on a more rounded set of boxing skills, the champion should defend his belt for a fifth consecutive time in a close but unanimous decision.

I hope they will gave their best in this fight to entertain their fans and we forget that last three fights happen this year. Boxing fans knows that Miguel Cotto will avenge his defeat against Antonio Margarito. What are you waiting for fans?

Broadband allows consumers to make better use of their mobile phones quickly overtaking computers as the information and communications technology (ICT) tool of choice in developing countries. People in poor countries are using mobile phones for banking, to check markets and monitor the weather, reducing the need for travel and boosting productivity. That is why we really need a broadband connection to be able us to get information we need, whenever and wherever we are. Here in the Philippines who rule the broadband world? Smart Communications has claimed the top spot in the broadband war. Over 8.3 million Filipinos have been accessing the Internet through the fixed and portable wireless facilities of Smart. Majority of them are accessing the Internet on their mobile phones, whether through post- or pre-paid accounts. Rival Globe Telecom reported that it has two million total broadband users. The broadband arena, however, is expected to get more competitive.

San Miguel Corporation is eyeing a piece of the broadband battle with Qatar Telco. Other broadband providers are Lopez-owned Sky Cable Corp., which offers broadband services that piggybacks on its main cable TV infrastructure. The different way to offer broadband services has only reinforced a three-pronged race: cost, speed, and mobility. Unlike households or office-based users who favor the conventional wireline or fixed wireless broadband access, the mobile broadband’s market is individual consumers who are on-the-go.

Considering there are more mobile phone users than those who depend on wireline-based services in the Philippines, an archipelago of over 7,100 islands, experts and industry players have banked on the dynamism of the wireless sector for broadband growth. In fact, Smart has been determinedly sponsoring broadband neighborhood-based Internet cafes to extend wireless usage in remote areas, casually cloaked as a corporate social responsibility effort.

With deep pockets, largely due to Smart’s many years of heavy earnings from the voice and text-based products, it has offered a wide and experimental variety, only to kill the ones that don’t catch fire. In the end, how the changing telecommunications landscape will develop when the newcomers begin to give details of their own bag of tricks will help the consumers in terms of cost, speed, and mobility.

Are you excited to Watch Mayweather vs Ortiz upcoming fight this September? If you ask me of course I am. Floyd Mayweather vs Victor Ortiz is one of the biggest boxing fights and events of the year. Floyd Mayweather Jr. (41-0, 25 KOs), is one of the best pound for pound boxer of the moment and one of the best in history, will clash on 17 September with the young WBC Welterweight champion Mexican American Victor “Vicious” Ortiz, seeking to wrest the belt in the headliner of the evening has been titled “Star Power: Mayweather vs Ortiz“. After 13 months of absence from the ring undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr is back in action once again. This is good for boxing, you have to thank Floyd is back. Mayweather is focused on this fight and he’s looking to make a statement to the world. He wants to face and defeat a young, tough opponent like Victor Ortiz. He got a stone wall defense that its difficult for Ortiz to crack. But Ortiz will not give up easily.

“Vicious” Victor Ortiz (02-02-29, 22 KOs) 24 years old, is the definition of a brilliant new star. Ortiz is young, fast and very strong champion. Will not be easy. But he will prepare with the same dedication that he always had to harvest fights and show that he’s the best fighter in the world now. The courage and determination Ortiz has revealed through his boxing career. Ortiz, a standout amateur, turned pro in 2004 and has maintained throughout its ups and downs up to become the champion he is now. Ortiz hopefully find a way to penetrate that wall that Mayweather will going use during their fight.

Victor Ortiz can still have the chance to win this match all he need to do is to keep up exchanging blows to get a score against Floyd up to the later rounds. Mayweather vs Ortiz has great potential to be one of the best fight these year. Will you Watch Mayweather vs Ortiz fight? For me, of course this is really an interesting match and I guess every boxing fan will want to see this fight. “STAR POWER” Mayweather vs Ortiz will be broadcast live on HBO Pay-Per-View ® at 9:00 pm ET / 6:00 p.m. PT.

For a long while I’ve been racking my brain as to what phone to get. My Nokia 6600 served me well for the past 5 years, but I really hate the navigational knob (which broke halfway through it’s use). Navigating my phone has been quite hard for me and I keep accidentally calling people, mis-sending text messages, and all sorts of navigational mishaps. Not only that, the surface of my keypad is shedding its skin like a snake. So yeah, my phone isn’t that pretty anymore. With as much social networking, marketing, blogging, and other online stuff that I’m doing, I need a data plan for my phone – and a new phone to go with it! Good thing it’s time for an upgrade, ’cause those suckers are expensive… LOL! I’ve always wanted to get an iPhone 4 but buying a phone that is locked into a provider I haven’t chosen seems too much like a Microsoft trick to me. All I need is a reasonable screen, Tri-Band, Wi-Fi, an IMAP email client, proper web access, a useable keyboard and a non Microsoft operating system.

The choice over which phone to get has been agonizing. And finally, the real choice presents itself: iPhone 4G, Samsung Galaxy S2, or LG Optimus 2X? Aw, crap.

After many hours of internet research and interrogating of co-workers, I came to a few conclusions:

iPhone 4G: I entertained the idea of getting the new iPhone but when I saw how much it costs combined with the subscription to Globe, I changed my mind. It’s not worth the price considering that there were alot of other phones out there with much more features and functions. Personally, I think the iPhone 4 is overrated. But the iTouch, though, that’s sweet.

Samsung Galaxy S2: This phone is beautiful! I really wanted it when I saw it on the Net and read reviews. After the iPhone 4G, the Samsung Galaxy S2 was my next option and was the first phone that I found on the Net that was labeled as an “iPhone Killer”. I tried out a test unit at one of my student and it was pretty cool. What I really like with Samsung Galaxy S2 is it Super AMOLED Plus capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors and 8 megapixel. 16GB/32GB storage, 1 GB RAM. MicroSD, up to 32GB. It comes with YouTube, Calendar, Google Talk, Picasa integration, Adobe Flash 10.1 support. The Samsung S2 is made up of Android OS, v2.3 (Gingerbread). Android has been in the game for longer, and seems much more committed to fixing bugs and improving the OS on a regular basis. Unfortunately, I’m holding back in buying this one because of its price is insane. P35k? I could spend that kind of money on something else instead.

LG Optimus 2X: Begun the dual-core revolution has. Dubbed as the world’s first dual-core Android smartphone which made it to the Guinness Book of World Records. LG Optimus 2X is built with Dual-core 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 proccessor, ULP GeForce GPU, Tegra 2 chipset. 512 MB RAM. 8 MP autofocus camera with LED flash. 8GB internal storage and microSDslot for up to 32GB cards. Adobe Flash 10.1 support, YouTube, Google Talk, Social networking integration and many others. Despite similar technology LCD isn’t quite as impressive as the iPhone4 screen. At a retail price of Php27,990, the LG Optimus 2X is a good buy and is so far the only dual-core smartphone currently available locally so there’s nothing else to compare it with. My guess is that it will still probably be the cheapest in its class even when the Samsung Galaxy S2 and HTC Sensation.

Among the three choices I’ve presented the Galaxy S2 I think is really what I need. Even my colleagues also suggest it to me. I haven’t bought the phone yet but I’m really itching to get it.

WBC and WBO bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire will defend his belts against unbeaten WBO junior bantamweight title holder Omar Narvaez of Argentina on Oct. 22, 2011 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., on HBO. Donaire said that he is excited already of the Donaire vs Narvaez fight and believes that Narvez fight will be a tough game for him but he likes the challenge of giving 1 lost to undefeated fighter like Narvaez. Donaire hasn’t fought since wresting the WBC/WBO crowns from Fernando Montiel via a second round knockout last February. He was set to stake his belts last May 28 but the bout was cancelled after signing a contract with Golden Boy. Narvaez is a good fighter but he is exactly that…. Donaire will be too big, fast and strong for Narvaez… he will punish the smaller fighter until the eventual stoppage. He’s an excellent, undefeated, longtime champion. I really like him to be honest. And those who haven’t seen him are crazy to dismiss him as a nobody… However, Donaire will destroy him.

“It’s done. The Donaire vs Narvaez fight is happening,” said Arum, “As far as I’m concerned, it’s a done deal.”

Omar Narvaez (35-0, 23 KOs) is southpaw who will be making his debut as a full-fledged 118-pounder. The 36-year-old from Cordoba is coming off a unanimous decision over William Urina in June, the third successful defense of the title he took from Everth Briceno in May of last year. Narvaez won the WBO flyweight belt by beating Adonis Rivas, flooring him once in the seventh round in July 2002. Narvaez then made 16 successful defenses of that title.

Nonito Donaire (26-1, 18 knockouts) last fought on Feb. 19 in Las Vegas, scoring a second-round knockout of Fernando Montiel (45-3-2, 35 KOs). That was Donaire’s 25th consecutive win and his 10th KO in his past 12 fights. It also was the 28-year-old’s second fight as a bantamweight, following a fourth-round knockout of ex-titleholder Wladimir Sidorenko.

Donaire said after facing Narvaez, he will move up to the superbantamweight division and likely fight in January against the winner of the Oct. 1 showdown between WBC 122-pound titlist Toshiaki Nishioka of Japan and Mexico’s Rafael Marquez. Is the Donaire vs Narvaez worth it to watch by a boxing fan’s around the world? Let’s all find out and watch Donaire vs Narvaez on October 22.
