But, life goes on and so must the music. Tell this to the people who write the music news! In light of the fact that NOTHING caught my eye and inspired me, I’m going to have to USE Michael Jackson to form my own information. So, today’s blog will focus on the young man from “Britain’s Got Talent” who wowed us all at the King of Pop’s memorial. His name is Shaheen Jafargholi and he is only 12 years old. Apparently, he made his mark on the British talent show by singing songs by the Jackson 5 and, reportedly, Michael Jackson saw a performance on YouTube and invited Shaheen to join him on his This Is It tour in London. While poor Shaheen missed that opportunity, he did move the crowd at Jackson’s memorial with a rendition of ‘Who’s Loving You”. It was almost as if the boy had channeled the sound of a young Michael Jackson! Although his American debut was under the most terrible of circumstances, I see a career in this boy’s future.

How are injuries received?

Injuries can occur whenever you’re active. If you run, and fail to stretch first, you can receive shin splints, sprains, strains, or tendonitis. Even if you’ve been active all your life and run regularly, you can still be injured.

In most cases, injuries from Wii use occur because of similar reasons. Either a person is not normally active, or they’ve failed to warm up prior to use. They could strain a muscle by moving the wrong way, develop tennis elbow from overuse, or be injured due to a fall.

What types of injuries can you expect to see? Here are some of the most common ones:

• Cuts
• Bruises
• Knee injuries
• Eye strain
• Fractures
• Rotator cuff injuries
• Sprains
• Seizures
• Stroke
• Heart attacks in extreme cases

Of course, if you read and follow the instructions in the Wii Safety Manual, your chance of injury is lessened.

Who is affected most?

It seems there is no age limit for those who receive injuries. The amount of time one spends playing the Wii will determine the possibility of and extent of injury. Young or old, male or female – injuries can happen in any walk of life. Level of fitness may not prevent injuries; even professional athletes have received injuries while playing the Wii.

What can you do about it?

Limiting play time is one way to help you avoid injury. Properly using the straps on the controllers will keep the controllers from slipping from your hand while in use, even if that won’t keep you from being injured.

Remember your reason for purchasing the Wii. It encourages users to become more active. It is unlikely that any injuries would be any more severe than normal sports injuries after a week of being sedentary, or what a child would receive in a game in the backyard with friends.

One thing everyone should do before playing is take into consideration how active you have been. Try not to do too much, stretch before beginning play (much like you would when playing a non-Wii sport), and try to be careful.

It is possible to have fun playing the Wii and avoid injury. You can be aware of Wii injuries and do your best to avoid them. Read the owner’s manual and follow their express directions. Don’t forget you bought the Wii to have fun, but be careful in the process to avoid being hurt.

Parents often dislike computer games and gaming consoles because the only muscles that get a workout are the thumbs. Nintendo, in creating the Wii, has changed game consoles into an interactive system that can everyone can play from grandparents all the way down to preschoolers. And, instead of merely sitting and holding a controller, Wii games simulate sports such as bowling, baseball, soccer, yoga, and golf.

When you purchase a Wii system, it comes with a Wii Sport game. Included in this game are tennis, baseball, golf, boxing, and bowling. As an added benefit, these games can be set to multiplayer as long as each person, up to four, has their own remote. Wii Nunchuk Controllers will also be required for boxing.

Playing the Wii is a great alternative in inclement weather. Your whole family can still get their exercise because the Wii is played indoors. Choose one of the Wii Sport games or try the relatively new Wii Fit.

Wii Fit is a breakthrough in gaming consoles. It comes with a Wii Balance Board that can be used for doing aerobics, strength training, yoga, and balancing games. This system does so much to encourage its users to be active. The Wii Balance Board is also a scale and is calibrated to notice subtle movements for each game.

You’re not limited to using the Wii Balance Board with the games that come with the Board. There are new games coming out to be played with the Board. If this is a system you think you might enjoy, you’ll want to keep an eye out for them.

Maybe someone in your family really loves to dance more than play sports to get a good workout. Why not purchase a copy of Dance Dance Revolution? Of course, you’ll need a Wii Dance Pad, but playing the game could allow you to learn some new dance moves as well as burn calories and increase stamina.

The Wii games, whether sport-related or not, encourages movement. Children can find games, such as anything with Super Mario (gotta love Mario Kart Wii with Wii Wheel), which they’ll enjoy playing and will find it hard to keep still in their seats. Senior adults may enjoy the more leisurely games like golf for fitness but also games that challenge their mind.

If you’re looking for a game console that everyone can enjoy, you might want to look into the Nintendo Wii. With Wii games for all ages, skill, and activity level it’s no wonder it’s so popular. Michael Jackson was born on August 29, 1958 in Gary, Indiana. He was the seventh of nine children. At a very young age, Michael was thrust, along with his four brothers, into the spotlight as The Jackson 5. Everyone remembers the phenomenal family act, but Michael was destined for more. He moved on from The Jackson 5 and become the single best-selling artist of all time. Songs like “Billie Jean”, “Bad”, and “Thriller”, as well as countless others, secured Michael’s spot as “The King of Pop).

Unfortunately, there were times when his rocky personal life overshadowed his remarkable talent. There were the “marriages of convenience” to Lisa Marie Presley and Debbie Rowe (who, in my opinion, was merely a gold digger–who else would give up her children for an “undisclosed lump sum”?). Then, there were the plastic surgeries and skin disease that made him completely unrecognizable as the 11-year old Michael who won hearts with The Jackson 5.

Sadly, the most overpowering parts of his personal life were the rumors and accusations of inappropriate conduct with young boys at his Neverland Ranch. I, personally, choose to believe in his innocence. I believe, as others have said in the past few days, that he was just a lonely little boy trapped in an adult’s body. I don’t think he was allowed to have much of a childhood so he lived vicariously through the children to whom he opened his heart and his home. Besides, as a parent, I know that, if someone had done inappropriate things to MY child, there’s no way I would let them “settle out of court” for ANY amount of money!! Adults want to condemn what they cannot fully understand, and Michael was the target of many cruel jokes, making it no wonder he preferred the company of children. He often said that children “weren’t mean to him”. I might be wrong about it, but with Michael gone, the truth is gone with him and I’m glad I’ll never know for sure!

I find Michael’s life almost as sad as his untimely death. He appeared to be a sad, lonely, sheltered human being who longed for love, acceptance and understanding. In the end, though, he had more of all of those things than he likely realized. He was truly an amazing talent and he will be deeply missed.

One iphone app which is making a trip to the supermarket more than just a hunter/gatherer experience is Mart Bingo. This app is a game of bingo, but instead of marking off numbers, you’re looking out for common features that we all come across on a shopping trip. Let’s take the example of a trolley which has a dodgy wheel. It’s surely the most common occurrence that is globally recognized as the most annoying thing about a shopping experience. You’re trying to steer it one way and it pushes you right into a display of beans. You narrowly miss out on spending a fortune on broken cans and you are horrendously embarrassed. Well this is one of the things that you can immediately mark off your Mart Bingo card.

The game features a standard bingo grid, and a selection of common occurrences that take place when shopping. The selection is taken from a total of 100 possible occurrences that might take place at your local supermarket, including the very common credit card declines and people blocking the aisle locked in a conversation about nappies.
