Even if you don’t support the RH Bill, there’s reason to love The Pill. It is a docking speaker for iPod Nano 6th Generation that comes in stark red and white color combination.

The Pill iPod Nano dock measures at 147 x 48 mm, and because of its diminutive size, you can fit this into your pocket. Your friends would be surprised that you will be touting a speaker right from your pocket.

The creators of The Pill iPod Nano dock has not yet released information as to when this will be released. In addition they are not yet offering this device for pre-order so we have to wait more before we can touch this portable speaker.

What we know is that this will cost only SG$10 (that’s Singaporean dollars), or roughly Php340 when converted to Philippine currency. This unbelievable price would guarantee a huge volume of order for this device. However, when this is shipped to the Philippenes, we should expect an increase in price. Assuming this is sold here for Php1,000 would you order one?

We’ve featured several unique speakers here at Gadget Manila (the Angry Birds Speakers comes to mind) but none is as unique as the Rock It 2.0. — now on its second iteration. That’s because, technically, it’s not a speaker. It’s a gizmo that turns virtually anything into a speaker. How? Well, you plug it into your music player (anything with a standard headphone jack works, that means your iOS, Android and every other device) and you take the sticky pad of Rock It 2.0 which you can attach to almost any object. Rock It then turns turns that object into a speaker. How, you ask again? What it does is it vibrates against the object, which causes the sound waves to become amplified by the object. Naturally, hollow objects work best. At just $50 plus expense for AA batteries, you can magically turn anything into a speaker. Check it out in action below.
We all know how messy kitchen work can be so one can easily imagine how useful this stand+stylus for the magical tablet will be inside your caboose. No more washing hands just to flip through the recipes in Epicurious or Bon Apetit: Pasta Perfect. And the gadget is washable and presumably dishwater safe — so there.

But apart from being the perfect kitchen companion, I can see those iPad owners of the OCB variety (you know, those who constantly wipe away smudges from their iOS devices’ screen, imagined or real) who will love this accessory. No more fingerprints or smudges, no more touching their precious gadget. It could also work well for those who need to wear gloves when working. It’s worth checking out.

Your iPhone has an alarm clock, it does its job but it seems that there are days when the alarm simply could not wake you up. Or even if it does, a single hit at the snooze or off button could turn off the alarm and send you back to sleep. This is your problem, my problem as well, fortunately there’s a new app developed to solve this problem once and for all.

The name of the app is the Wake N Shake: Merciless Alarm Clock. What it does is that it fights back whenever you want to shut it off. The app does not make your iPhone hit you in the face or run away, but you have to shake your iPhone to the point that the app is satisfied that you are already wide awake.

Some of you might think that why not just shut the app down? That’s a possible loophole. However when this is done, you will receive constant push notifications to remind you that “It’s time to shake the iPhone”. They won’t stop until you finally give in.

The specs alone will give this monster phone the crown as king of smartphones, leaving most others to eat its LTE dusts. The main feature being touted by this baby is its speed, powered by a TI OMAP 4430 1.0 Ghz dual-core processor combined with 4G LTE, it’s a must have for speed freaks. Add to that 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and a 16GB micro-SD included for 32GB of total storage, an 8 MP camera with VGA for video chat, a brilliant, bright, and crisp 4.3 qHD 540 x 960 resolution display and you have a very good contender gunning for top spot in the smartphone category.

In fact, the Droid is so capable, it’s almost like a laptop. Wait, it is a laptop, thanks to a separate LapDock accessory that turns your phone into one, or at least a netbook. One other interesting feature is the Webtop application. With this the Droid Bionic can beam a full-featured Firefox® Web browser 4.0, email or documents to a TV or monitor, like the separately purchased Lapdock™ with a 11.6″ screen, keyboard and integrated trackpad. Check out the video below to see the Droid Bionic in action.
Needless to say, its more than just a watch, combining form with function like time (of course), date, dual time, alarm, stopwatch, and interval timer, the ability to monitor heart rate, speed, distance, running cadence, and laps in real time, the ability to share, plan, and analyze results online, and water resistance to 30 meters.

Unlike most sports watches that are bulky and could double as weights, mistakenly equating this to “sporty design,” the Suunto Quest Black Watch is sporty enough to go with your gym/sporty get up (including that JayBird Freedom JF3 you were looking at) and subdued enough for everyday use. Prices are TBA so stay tuned, we’ll get back to you on this when we get word.
This slinky lappy will have a 13.3-inch display, up to a Core i7 processor and up to 256GB SSD. When we said slinky, we meant anorexic slim as it’ll be just 0.6 inch thick. Compared to the “touchstone” of ultrabooks, the MacBook Air (I’m not a fanboy dear readers, I’m a PC/iDevice guy), this svelte laptop is thin all throughout whereas the former has a form factor that tapers to a sharp edge giving it the appearance of ultra thinness. The U300 interestingly has no bottom vents, pushing heat out through the hinge vents, as well as through what Lenovo calls a ‘breathable keyboard,’ giving new meaning to the phrase “hot fingers.”

We’ve written about ultra slim and sleek laptops like the Acer Aspire 3951 that may give the MacBook Air some serious competition but the pricing of the U300s might not make it a contender. Starting at $1,195 (versus the $999 of its Apple counterpart), this minimum price might be the deal breaker for some. So which one is the fairest of them all? Watch the video and decide for yourself.

Samsung recently announced a new product that has the biggest screen compared to any smartphone existing today: the Samsung Galaxy Note. It sports a 5.3-inch HD Super AMOLED display, 1.4 ghz dual-core processor, and dual cameras (8mp and 2mp, back and front respectively). With all that screen real estate, they decided to throw in a stylus which you can use interchangeably with your fingers throughout the UI. It has handwriting recognition capabilities and runs on Android 2.3.

Measuring a mere 9.65mm thick and weighing in at 102g, the Note is purportedly designed to fit comfortably in a pocket. I’m not sure what to make of this device especially with regard to portability (it could very well be a confused tablet or a closet smartphone), but it looks very interesting indeed. Is this the new trend for smartphones what with the iPhone 5 said to have a much bigger screen (or not) than its predecessors? Watch the video below and see for yourself.

Makayama’s Movie Mount is the answer to the prayers of some of you here who are itching to use your iPad 2 to shoot videos. This is a tripod mountable case which adds a number of features which a budding videographer or simply a student who wants to shoot videos for his homework would like to have.

This movie mount packs some hot shoes for hooking up lights and microphones in case you want better lighting or a louder sound. It has also a mount for lens in case you prefer a zoom or a wide angled one. You can even switch between the conversion lenses and the built-in lens on the fly because of the sliding adapter behind the mount.

The Makayama Movie Mount is now available for pre-order at the price of $69.95 or Php3,000 when converted to Philippine Peso. The first deliveries are expected to arrive by October.
