One thing that has always been an excellent source of hinting at possible new MacBook models is the result gotten from the Geekbench database. For example, this yeah in the month of May, the Geekbench results showed a machine that was dubbed MacBook Pro 9.1; this later turned out to be the much hyped non-Retina display display 15-inch MacBook Pro model. It was confirmed the very next month. Another entry dubbed iMac 13.2 also appeared in the result which is expected to be an updated iMac.

About a month ago, the Geekbench results had an entry title MacBook Pro 10.2. This machine suggested the computer to be a 13-inch version of the MacBook Pro that has a Retina display. The existence of this machine had been rumored since October. A machine title MacBook Pro 10.1 was also found in the results and it is expected to tbe 15-inch version of the same machine.

Now another MacBook Pro 10.2 has been found which further supports the existence of a 13-inch version of the MacBook Pro.

You can see the processor and board specifications from the image above. Specs and scores match the previous results to a great degree including the Geekbench results score which is nearly 7800. However the new machine features a custom 12A2066 build of the unreleased OS X 10.8.1.

It seems that the new 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display is going to be revealed this holiday season, along with Apple’s other products.

Microsoft’s Windows 8 operating systems comes with numerous new features packed. Many of these bring unparalleled convenience to your Windows experience. One very prominent of these features is the Win+X menu. The menu is called this because it is brought up using the combination hotkey shortcut of the Windows logo key and the X button on your keyboard.

Because you do not get a Start menu with the new Windows, Microsoft had to make the commonly used programs more accessible. This gap is filled by the Win+X menu that provides you with quick access to the control panel, the task manager, the device manager, the event viewer, and the command prompt.

While these shortcuts are extremely helpful in improving app accessibility, there is one flaw in the default settings of the Win+X menu: you cannot add or remove custom shortcuts from the menu. This is where a tool called Win+X Menu Editor comes into play.

Win+X Menu Editor is a free to use desktop application for Windows 8 running machines. The app lets you modify shortcuts offered to you by the Win+X menu.

The highly popular smartphone game, Angry Birds, is such a hit partly because it keeps things fresh and keeps releasing new material. A perfect example of this is the latest news of Rovio, the game’s developers, launching a new playable character for the Angry Birds game. This character is a new bird and is will be called the Pink Bird simply because it is pink in color.

The game’s developers will be including the Pink Bird in the next version of the game dubbed Back to School. In Back to School you will be able to play through the newly released Pink Bird.

A few quick facts about this cute little bird: the bird is pink, has blue eyes, it blows bubbles through its bubble-blower, and is just a bag full of cuteness.

But blowing bubbles and looking cute is not all what this bird does. Apparently the bird can distract its enemies, the pigs, by the bubbles that it blows.

Rovio has launched a video which shows the Pink Bird having fun in blowing bubbles. It then finds a group of pigs planning to steal the eggs of the birds. Infuriated, the Pink Bird decides to take matters into its own hands. It blows a large egg shaped bubble and blows it in the way of the pigs. The pigs get distracted and follow the bubble off a cliff.

Very recently images were leaked of internal components of the iPhone 5. These images were leaked on a French site, NowhereElse. While these might only be rumored components, they seem far too detailed and far too in line with the specifications that are already rumored. Take a look at this image:

As you can see the image is a comparison of the internal components of the iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, and the iPhone 5. The first row of components is basically the electric motors that are used to provide the phone with the vibration functionality. As is apparent, the iPhone 5’s vibration motor is similar to that of the iPhone 4 rather than the iPhone 4S.

The other components basically look like the wiring structure of the phones and show how connections will be routed. The new iPhone 5 seems to have much simpler design for inner flex cables. We imagine this to be because of the newly positioned headphones port. A simpler design will definitely mean more power efficiency.

As the days draw near, we will be seeing even more iPhone 5 related news. How much of all the upcoming news is true and how much is rumored will only be determined by the actual iPhone 5 which we shall see soon enough.

The hacker was prompt in following up his original post on XDA Developers with the complete method to help other Note owners in rooting their own devices. If you have gotten your hands on your new Note 10.1 or are about to buy a Galaxy Note 10.1, you can follow the simply steps outline below to get root access.

Note: As with all device rooting guides, we should start by mentioning that you should root the device at your own risk. Such modifications always carry a risk with them and if carried out carelessly, can cause serious problems.

Step 1: Download ODIN from here.

Step 2: Download Samsung USB drivers for Windows from here.

Step 3: You will need to download a version of rooted firmware for Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 for your region. To determine your phone’s firmware go into Settings and then About Device and note the last 6 characters of the Build Number field.

Step 4: Download XXALGA rooted European firmware from here.

Step 5: Download XWALG7 rooted Saudi Arabia/UAE firmware from here.

Step 6: Boot your device into the Download mode by pressing down the Power and Volume Down buttons for fifteen seconds. In the subsequent warning box you see, press the Volume Up button to continue.

Step 7: Hook your tablet to your computer using the USB cable. If the drivers have not already been installed, let them be detected and installed.

Step 8: Now extract the contents of the ODIN archive and unzip the ROM files to a location on your computer. Then launch ODIN. If your device drivers are properly installed, ODIN will recognize them and there will be a box under ID:COM which would be turned yellow. Do not make any changes to ODIN. Mainly, the options of Flash Lock, “Auto Reboot and Re-Partition” should be unchecked and the option to Auto Reboot is checked.

Step 9: In ODIN, click on the PDA button. Point it towards the .tar archive which you extracted from within the ROM archive. Once done, make sure that Bootloader, Phone, and CSC checkboxes are unchecked; only the checkbox next to PDA should be checked.

Step 10: To begin the rooting process, click ‘Start.’ In case any errors are encountered, simply restart the process. Upon successful completion you should see that over a green background PASS will be written in the fir box in the top left of ODIN, on top of the first ID:COM box.

That is it! You will then be able to enjoy your rooted Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1! Enjoy.

Similarly there are quite a number of advantages to the newly released Mac OS X Mountain Lion. While many of these might be apparent to the average user, some of these cool features might not be as obvious. Our post is here to show five of the most useful of these unobvious useful features. Check out these tips and tricks below.

Tip 1: Prevent Your Computer from Sleeping

Mountain Lion comes with a bunch of energy saving options among which regular sleeping is a prominent feature. You will find that even after disabling the sleep option in the regular way, your computer will still fall asleep if left alone for a while. To actually keep the system awake, you will need to specify how long you want your computer to remain awake through a Terminal command. This command is “caffeinate  -t 86400” where the number represents the number of seconds your computer will remain awake.

Tip 2: Removing an App from the Mac Desktop Dock

In Lion, to remove an app from the Dock, all you had to do was drag it out and let go. Mountain Lion users might have noticed this simple step to not work. This is because when you drag out the app, you need to wait for the smoke image to appear on the dragged icon before you let go. This is a failsafe protecting the app from accidental removal from the dock.

Tip 3: Looking Up Words in the Dictionary

If your computer has a multi touch track pad connected to it then you can look up the meanings of words within Mountain Lion in a very easy way. All you have to do is tap a word with three fingers. Its meaning will appear in a new menu that is opened.

Tip 4: Quickly Open Accessibility Options

Enabling / disabling zoom, enabling / disabling VoiceOver, changing the display’s contrast, and more functions can all be performed through the Accessibility Options. All of these can be easily and quickly access by a hotkey shortcut: Command + Option + F5.

Tip 5: Bringing Back “Save As”

Instead of “Save As,” Mountain Lion gives you the default option to Duplicate a file when you use the Command + Shift + S hotkey shortcut. People who want the old settings back can ‘fix’ this by clicking Keyboard in the System Preferences and in the Shortcuts Tab, clicking Application Shortcuts to add a new shortcut with the title “Save As” and with the shortcut Command + Shift + S.

The Windows 8 operating system brings with itself numerous features that improve the level of convenience offered to the user. One feature however that is being criticized is the lack of the Start Menu. The Start Menu has been present in all versions of Windows and getting accustomed to its absence is not going to be easy.

One of the most popular uses of the Start menu was for Windows users to click on the Run dialog box. However since there is no Start menu in Windows 8 to begin with, accessing the Run dialog box through mouse clicks is going to be slightly inconvenient.

Accessing the Run option in Windows 8 requires you to enter the Start screen and then type in “Run.” The Run command will appear and you can click on it to use it.

But you can make the command more accessible by placing it on your desktop. This can be done in a very simple way. When the Run command appears after you type “Run,” just right click on the result.

The right click action will make a few options appear in the bottom of the screen. Through these commands you can pin the Run option to Start, pin it to taskbar, open it in a new window, or simply open the file location of the Run command.

To make it a part of the Start screen, simply use the first option in this list of option i.e. Pin to Start.

You will then be able to access Run straight from your Start screen.

While my passion for games that came on optical discs began with the Sony PlayStation 1, my addiction to optical disc games did not really take off till I got my hands on the Sony PlayStation 2. I enjoyed my PS2 for a long time before I broke it and moved on playing games on my PC. I have been having a lot of fun with PC games but I still reminisce about the titles that PS2 had to offer. So imagine how euphoric I was after learning that there is a PS2 emulator for Windows computers!

This emulator just got its first version launched and it is called PCSX2 1.0; it is available not only for Windows but also for Mac and Linux.

These different versions of the emulator can be downloaded and installed straight from the website of the application. Once installed, you can insert your PS2 game disc into the computer and use the emulator to run the games. Resolutions can be made to go as far as 1080p for amazing visual effects; of course, your hardware needs to support this too.

For the best PS2 experience, you should get a gamepad similar to the gaming controller of the PS2 and then map your keyboard’s keys to the gamepad’s keys.

This will complete your PS2 emulation experience on your computer.

More than half of the year 2012 has already passed and the holiday season nears with every day. One thing that we all can be certain about when it comes to the holiday season is that Apple always has some product announcements to make which tempt shoppers into spending big. We expect this holiday season to not be any different.

This fall, everybody expects Apple to unveil the iPhone 5 – a phone which all of us have big expectations from. But along with the obviously expected iPhone 5, this year we have seen a lot of rumors build up regarding the iPad mini. So far the rumors have gone to claim that the display size of the smaller device will now be 7.85 inches. The original has a display screen size of the iPad is 9.7 inches. Check out this visual comparison of both these devices from the front.
