UPCAT Results 2010 is Now Online

Over thousands and thousands of students from different places took the exam to be able to study on the University of the Philippines. The exam is known as the UPCAT, or the University of the Philippines College Admission Test. It is always done yearly as an entrance exam for students which can be took in different places, not only on the UP Campuses.

Right now, after waiting, the UPCAT Results for 2010 is now published online. The UPCAT Results 2010 is now online in different sites. But the UPCAT’s official page also published the official list of the passers of said test.

You read it right, with MTV Emerge, you're dream to become a singing superstar is here. MTV Emerge is the newest talent-search in the Philippines, powered by MTV, Jeepney Music, and Department of Tourism collaboration. The purpose of MTV Emerge is to show the undiscovered talents of the Filipinos to the international music scene.

Participants from any music genre are encouraged to register and upload their profiles, photos and original music on the MTV Emerge site during the contest submission period. All entries will go through a public voting process. After which, a total of seven grand winners will be selected from the top entries on November 20 by a panel of judges including Apl.de.Ap, founder of Jeepney Music and Black Eyed Peas member.

The seven grand winners of MTV Emerge will win a one-year recording contract with Jeepney Music and mentorship under Apl.de.Ap. The contract includes artist management and promotion, digital distribution of 3 – 6 songs and a strategic marketing plan for the signed artists to break into both the Philippines and international markets.

Apl.de.Ap. (one of the Black Eyed Peas) is one of the people who work on this huge project. Indeed, MTV Emerge is a huge project with very huge prize. And I am not surprised if lots of bands and other singers joined. After browsing the web, I just saw this cool PC mod from a Russian forum page. The cool guy behind this creative PC mod was just stirred up the web. Well, me too, was just so amazed by his creative mod. In fact, this is the first time I ever saw this kind of PC mod.

The miniature living room inside a PC includes housewares such as a nice chair, carpet, flower vase, newspapers and a lamp. Yeah, it’s kinda cool to put cute little things inside your PC.

As you can see, the SL90-series is thinner than the SL80-series. And what I loved in these two series is their Bluetooth wireless connectivity capability. It is good to know that Bluetooth syncing now comes in handy with HDTVs.

Nokia N900 is now Official

The Nokia N900 (a.k.a. “Rover”) internet tablet goes official. The new smart phone of the NSeries was announced as an official product of Nokia this month. It is one of the first Nokia mobile phones packed with a Linux-based OS, the Maemo.

Sony Announced It’s New PS3 Slim

After so many rumors and speculations popped out, the slim version of PS3 was finally revealed. Sony just announced the much awaited PS3 Slim at a German gaming convention last Tuesday, and made it official by releasing more details, and some nice price cuts, too. The features of the old PS3 was inherited by the Slim, but the new PS3 Slim is 33% smaller, 36% lighter and using 34% less power and also has a 120GB hard drive.

The new PS3 Slim will be out soon in North America and Europe with a price tag of $299 and €299, respectively, this coming September. But the old PS3 price drops too, with a $299 price tag.

NBA2K10 – The Next #1 NBA Game

The 2K Sports’ NBA2K9 video game was claimed as the no. 1 NBA video game in the world (based on the Gamerankings.com and NPD data). NBA2K9 was a huge success in the gaming industry. And now, 2K Sports finally revealed 2K9’s big brother, NBA 2K10.

In 2K Sports’ website, they already claimed that the upcoming NBA 2K10 game is the #1-rated and #1-selling NBA video game. And the NBA 2K10 cover-candidate was revealed, too, featuring Kobe Bryant.

Friendster’s Tribute for Philippine’s Pres. Corazon Aquino

Friendster, one of the leading social networking sites in the world wide web, gave a tribute for Philippine’s former president, Pres. Corazon Aquino, who died this month. The death of Philippine’s former president made huge volume of buzzes from Yahoo! homepage, to various blogs around the world. It was a big news indeed.

Friendster has been very close to the Filipino people, because huge number of its users came from the Philippines. And every struggles, crisis, and other occurrences in this country really affects this social networking site.

And as a tribute to the Philippine’s former president, Pres. Corazon “Cory” Aquino, they made portrait images of Cory and posted it on user’s homepage. They also made a fan page for Pres. Cory, which, as of now, has 166,000 fans.

It is very touching, that a foreign web company made a tribute on our “kababayan” (fellow citizen).

And as a Filipino, I would like to thank Friendster, for being such a nice company for us, and for our “Icon of Democracy”, our beloved President Corazon Aquino.

World’s First Robot fashion show in osaka, japan

Japan is obsessed in developing robots. And now, Japan’s National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) created HRP-4C-san for a fashion show, marking another story in the history.

Designer Yumi Katsura's wedding dress was worn by this humanoid robot and walked on the 10-meter runway with the beat of Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean in Osaka, Japan. And there’s more, this robot said "I've put on a wedding dress for the first time. I'm very happy today to wear this dress by Yumi Katsura."

The New Samsung M1 and R1 Media Players

Samsung officially released its new media players, M1 (in black) and R1 (in pink). But R1 is a total attention-grabber. It's a Nvidia Tegra chip powered media player (that's hot).

The key features of this hot M1 media player are Divx playback, Bluetooth, 3.3-inch AMOLED touchscreen display, built-in accelerometer and 1.6W stereo speakers. But Samsung's M1 is too similar to P3 which should be replaced by this new gadget. Anyway, even this cool media player has hot features, it's still incomplete. Why? M1 doesn't sport a Wi-Fi connectivity. Almost everyone demands for a wi-fi connectivity and why Samsung didn't include it in their new media players? Well, we can't answer that as of now. But, hey, these media players rocks.

Rumored Apple Tablet Expected to be Announced in September

Apple has been one of the greatest gadget makers in the whole world. They created gadgets which can be seen everywhere. Ipods, Iphones, Macbooks, cool gadgets indeed. And now, to add another "cool" gadget in Apple's line up, the rumor says, here comes the Apple tablet.

There was a rumor that Apple will enter the battle of netbooks. And as their entry for this battle, they'll create their own netbook. But some says, netbook is not a plan for Apple, but a "tablet PC" is on their minds.

An unknown analyst claims that he saw and touched the Apple's new pride. With great movie experience and a potential game console, it will be a sure hit. Its looks is very stunning, and looks like a jumbo iPod touch.
