Netbooks, being one of the best selling gadget last year and predicted to have a significant growth this year will make many PC vendors keep their watch in this products. And for some netbook users, the existence of Google Chrome OS is like a fuel that stimulate their interest to watch the development in netbook technology.

In the late January, Acer made their statement about producing their own Chrome OS netbook this year. Now, Samsung, as one of the brands that own one of the best buy laptop last year recently announce to release their Samsung Chrome OS netbook too this year. The spesification of this netbook that was leaked until now were a 10.1 screen chrome netbook with the availability of 2GB memory, 3G and WiFi connectivity, and hold a storage capacity of 64GB at a minimum.

What made this publication interesting is they designed this Samsung netbook so that it would be able to run up to 12 hours. That was a quite long battery lifetime Samsung Chrome mobile pc have don’t you think? Many people began questioning what chipset that will be the base of this Samsung Chrome netbook, there is no official statement have been made about this, but most people speculate that the chipset that will be used in this chrome netbook by Samsung is the 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU. Well, we all looking forward to hear from you Samsung

HP Mini 5102 is the new intel Atom N450 netbook that designed to be an all-around mobile PC. To make up for that, HP 5102 is powered by a single core 1.66GHz atom processor, Mobile Intel NM10 chipset and Intel GMA 3150 graphic processor. The Mini 5102’s packages also includes a 1GB 800MHz DDR2 Memory, 160 GB harddrive, and Windows 7 Starter Edition.

HP 5102’s exterior design were pretty good, its body is made of magnesium alloy and aluminium, giving a sturdy feel to it, a really good choice for netbook users who hates netbook’s plastic body. 5102 size were pretty proportional too, its definitely not the thinnest netbook around, but its dimension (10.3 x 7.1 inches) didn’t made the flexibility and mobility aspect of this netbook go away. In fact, weighing 2.5 pound or 3.3 pound when you count the AC adapter weight, this HP Mini netbook would give a solid and durable one when you bring it with you.

I must say that 5102’s keyboard and control design were pretty good. Using a nice pebble style and giving a more attention to some functional keys like Shifts really made me enjoy typing on this netbook. Mini 5102’s touch pad design still adapt the traditional ones, with the buttons below the touch pad though I have no problem with that.

This HP netbook screen features a 1024×600 resolution. It’s not a HD resolution, but I hope HP will release one that would have 1366×768 HD resolusion like HP Mini 311.

To conclude our HP Mini 5102 review, this netbook can compete fairly with Toshiba Mini NB305-N410BN that uses the same N450 processors, eventhough compared too Asus 1005PE, the Mini 5102 still lose in the battery lifetime and iTunes encoding test. But still, with 5102 priced on $399, it is one of the best buy netbooks around I think

The touch screen interface available in this Compaq netbook can be seen in their touch-based tabbed browser, you can even zoom webpages using your touch. This interface also very useful when you work with media apps and shortcut menu that have been touch optimized.

Until now, there haven’t been any announcement of Airlife 100’s price, but HP promised that their android netbooks might be available in certain selected country.

Eee PC netbook is one of the brands we used to meet in a mobile netters backpack. The more than 6 hour battery life is very tempting and practical (some even said their netbook – not eee pc though- can be used up to 8 hours), but sometimes, we have to admit that their 10.1 inch screen and RAM memory limitation can be a blunder sometime. But with Asus Eee PC 1201N, those limit can be lifted off from your favorite netbook.

Eee PC 1201N is a netbook for those who pursue both, portability and processing power to support multimedia needs of netbook user. Asus 1201N is powered by Intel Atom 330 dual core processor combined with NVidia ION graphics processor to cope with more resource consuming usage of this Eee PC netbook.

You can put up to 2 / 3GB RAM memory in Asus 1201N two DIMMs dual channel DDR2 slot (the amount of memory capacity you can put on is differ from country to country) and giving you a more spacious RAM. NVidia ION graphic processor in Eee PC 1201N is enriching your multimedia experience like enjoying videos in High Definition quality or playing games in this Asus netbook. Video editing, conversion and any visual content involving activity is boosted by NVidia CUDA technlology that was embedded in 1201N.

The NVidia ION and CUDA is already giving you more space in the graphics department, but Asus 1201N goes further by adding a pre-installed ArcSoft SimHD that will upscale your multimedia video with standard definition and simulate it into a high definition one. This SimHD work as a plugin for ArcSoft Total Media Theatre that you can use to play a wide ranget of video format with enhanced quality in 1201N 12 inch LCD screen.

This Asus Eee PC 1201N with the price of $699 were also equipped with 0.3 Megapixels webcam, a 802.11 b/g/n WiFi connectivity, and Bluetooth ver 2.1. The battery life of Asus 1201N is up to 5 hours, tested using Windows 7 and MobileMark2. A powerful netbook it is don’t you think?

Not so long ago, we’ve cover the news about iPad Price and Specs in this gadget blog. Many people were excited to welcome this Apple tablet pc and expect some good features from iPad. However, iPad is not an all perfect tablet gadget, it has some blunder compared to what people would think exist in it. And now, let’s hear what people consider as a weakness in iPad.

No Multitasking in iPad
With iPad’s 9.7 inch touch screen and its price, people might wanting a feature that compete with what netbook have, especially in the multitasking capability area. And yeah, we know that iPad was not intended to be a netbook. However, without this multitasking ability, it was such a disapointing weakness that an iPad user have to face. iPad was known to be not so ‘agile’ too when we move from one application to another.

No Adobe Flash in iPad
Alright, we have an iPad with 3G and/or WiFi support that can deliver the internet in our hands through Safari Browser. But unfortunately, iPad doesn’t have any Adobe Flash support and that will decrease your good experience when you wanted to play a video in the internet

No Camera and No iChat in iPad
I don’t really know about why this weakness can reside in this tablet gadget. The idea of bringing iPhone and a laptop capability in an iPad is frequently heard, but no cams and no iChat? oh come on, please be serious

Wow.. iPad got a few weakness that really decreasing my desire to have them. I know that some people also consider the lack of handwriting recognition and HDMI port in iPad. But in my opinion, it is still forgiveable. Other than that, I guess iPad really would be an easy target for jokes like its resemblance with some women ’stuff’ or their problems with Fujitsu that also have their own iPad.. What an interesting gadget Apple produce eh

Apple iPad, I guess that’s what most of gadget lovers thinking of lately. Being said that iPad was intended too overthrow netbook’s superiority for light mobile computing activity and Amazon’s Kindle domination over the digital book reader, this gadget made by Apple really stir the buzz in the gadget info around the planet. Did you start to wonder about iPad’s price and Specification? Read on

Okay, so we heard about iPad being this and that, but the question is always the same,

“What is the price and specification for this iPad?”

but before we tell you how much iPad will cost you, it will be wise to get a good look into iPad specs and functions first. This gadget is like a combination of iPhone compacts and a laptop capability. iPad main interface is their 9.7 inch Multi Touch Screen within their thin body that weighs 1,5 pound.

iPad specification consists of an A4 1GHz processor with storage capacity of 16GB to 64GB. Their connectivity involves WiFi and 3G Networks. iPad also implements the accelerometer that make it fun to play games or playing multimedia files with it. In the sound department, iPad have been embedded with an active speaker and microphone.

With iPad, Apple also introduces the iBook application for this gadget, and also an iBook Store that already make their cooperation with five publishers to released their ebook in iBook Store. And for your information, the IBook itself was already support the ePub format. I guess people could see, that this iPad was intended to compete with Kindle products made by Amazon.

And now, let’s go for the Apple iPad price. For a WiFi version iPad, it would be $499 for the 16GB edition while the 32GB edition will cost you $599, and $699 for the 664GB. the 3G iPad is bundled with AT&T and sold with the price $829 for the 32GB. Even when the spesification of iPad seems hot, there are people who were disapointed with their incapability of handling multitask systems. But wheter the price will make it drop or pop, we can only see it on the market report.

If you’re looking forward into Acer netbooks running in Google Chrome OS, then their plan to release the chrome os netbook in 2010’s third quarter will be good news for you. In last year’s 4th quarter, Acer have been the no. 2 in the PC market, and in 2010 they plan to overtake Hewlett Packard. Acer even predicts that 4/5 of their netbook sales will feature the Chrome OS, Acer really loves Chrome didn’t they

And in their path into grabbing the portion markets that used to be dominated by Apple, Sony and Amazon.com, Acer planned to run their own app-Store this midyear that will offer software that support the Android platform running on Acer netbooks and smartphones. Of course they will add supports on Chrome operating system later, with the free or low cost price for the Chrome apps. Delighted with the news? I hope so.. Well, let’s look forward into their google netbooks and e-Reader.
The main intention of this new reduced volumes were to anticipates the dangers caused by high volume and prolonged use of headphones or earplugs that may damages the hearing of mp3 player users.

The proposed decibel levels were reduced from 100 to 80 decibels, and this standard should be applied in new music players. All of this decided through a report by EU scientific committee that 10 percent of mp3 player user having the risk of permanent hearing loss if they listen to loud music everyday within 5 years. Well, to be honestly, I think that our health was our own responsibility. And to listen a song in loud volume, why would you do that, it will ruin the song I think

For some laptop users who insist to play some games on their notebook, Asus G51VX came to succeed the line of G50 Asus gaming laptop. This Intel Core 2 Duo P7350 (2GHz, 3MB L2 Cache, 1066MHz FSB) processor powered G51VX also sports a NVidia GeForce GTX 260 M with 1GB GDDR3 to handle the graphic work. To complete the gaming experience of this laptop, Asus put a 15.6 inch TFT Widescreen Display with 1366x 768 resolution, 4GB PC2-6400 DDR2 SDRAM 800MHz and 6-cell 4800mAh battery. Not to forger the other laptop functionality like a Dual Layer CD/DVD recordable, a 1.3 megapixel integrated web cam, an Intel WiFi 5100 (a/b/g/n), a HDMI port, eSATA and Windows Vista Home Premium (SP1, 64 Bit) is included in G51VX package. Alright, let’s get to the review and test of this gaming notebook.

Asus G51VX’s design is strong and cool (especially their glowing logos) just like any gamers might want for their laptop. Weighing 7.3 lbs with the dimension of 14.8 X 10.4 x1.6 inch, this laptop is not really a light one. The screen resolution were a little low for a GeForce GTX 260M, but that’s also ensure the screen won’t burden the graphic processor too much for your daily activities and task. The viewing angles of G5VX screen is quite good, gave solid brightness even though the color is not the best I’ve seen. The speaker quality is unfortunately average, and so does the placement.

Asus G51VX chiclet keyboard combined with adjustable backlighting really hit the spot for me where sometimes, we need lower keyboard light when using this gaming laptop on the dark. The palm rest is rubberized giving more grip when your hand move between the keyboard and the touchpad were pretty responsive. G51VX battery life however, is not a long one as predictable since using it for games consumes more power. In our usage, we found that the battery would last approx 2 hours.

Asus G51VX gaming performance were supposed to be pretty good if we look into their GTX 260M graphic processor. However, for newer games that need more CPU resource, the G51VX’s Core 2 Duo P7350 seems to not be able to keep up with the demands. The games is still playable, but you might notice some lag in the game, and it won’t change even if you lowered your graphics settings, and that means, the processor is not strong enough for it. It is quite dissapointing, especially with the high price for this gaming laptop, but I never really hoped to play the latest games in a laptop anyway. G51VX also produce quite heat, blowing from their vent. The noticeably heat didn’t reach the keyboard surface though, however it is not recommended to use this Asus gaming laptop on your lap.

To conclude this Asus G51VX reviews, it was a pretty good platform to do some heavy work with your laptop, even if its fail to play newer games smoothly. The screen is not the best even when powered with GTX 260M powerful graphic. But the design is pretty cool and the keyboard surface and backlit keyboard really helps when we use this gaming laptop.
