We're off to the Lakes tomorrow.

2011-06-19T12:26:00.000-07:00

So tomorrow we are at the Patterdale Hotel, the decorators were there last week and we will be fitting all the new window treatments in the bar and restaurant. The bar is called 'Bar Fell Inn' which apparently it nearly did a few years ago during some building work! We are then off to the Keswick Country House Hotel to finish a small job there with a sneaky overnight stay - the food in their restaurant is really good so looking forward to that.

I'll try to rmemeber my camera and post a few pics later in the week.

We're having a run on these at the moment for some reason.

Don't forget we do all types of blinds as well as curtains:

Romans, Rollers, Venetian, Pleated, Panels.

Today in the workroom

2011-06-15T04:10:00.000-07:00

Need to lock myself in the workroom for the next few days, curtains and blinds need to made for the Patterdale Hotel which is undergoing a refurb, a great hotel for walkers if ever you're in the area.

The Blackpool Arch !

2011-06-14T11:35:00.000-07:00

Many houses on the Fylde Coast have windows with what is known as 'the Blackpool Arch' in front of them. Notoriously difficult to dress in aN elegant way I think we achieved it in this room by making Roman blinds to fit at the windows with dress curtains on the outside of the arch.

Fabric from India

2011-05-01T12:57:00.000-07:00

I don't like to make up curtains in customers own fabric, but this customer had been looking for months and every fabric he chose just blew the budget as he needed over 80 metres for the 5 windows. He called me from India to ask if I'd make a fabric he'd found so I agreed as he''s a valued customer.

I couldn't believe it when it eventually arrived, it was like sewing a carpet but as much as it's something I would not choose myself the finished look was perfect for his home.

Today.................

I've organised everything for the remainder of my appointments this week so can concentrate on displays and organising the workroom :-)

A Busy Day

2011-03-07T13:53:00.000-08:00

Had a busy day fitting blinds and curtains in a contemporary barn conversion, not quite finished so will post photos at a later date.
I'll be spending the rest of the week getting up to date with quotes and paperwork and tidying my very untidy workroom!

James Hare Silks

2011-03-07T12:15:00.000-08:00

We are now a recommeded supplier of James Hare Silks and have their complete range of products to view in our showroom.

They have a fantastic range of plain silks, slubby dupions, satin silk and linen silk blends, all in a vast array of colours, I love the simplicity of these fabrics which we can dress up or down.

Simple headings to suspend on a dramatic curtain pole

or elaborate swags and tails embellished with tassels and beads.

They also have some beautiful embroidered silks such as this butterfly embroidery from

Opulence & Glamour

2011-02-16T12:51:00.000-08:00

We made these opulent curtains for a client last year, as usual I forgot to photograph them but I've been back today to complete another room, so here they are - hope you like them!

The fabric is Lucido from Harlequin which has a lustrous finish, the curtains have been heavily interlined and finished with an oversized choux heading.

The curtain pole is embellished with crystal finials and the holdbacks feature a large cut glass crystal which shines into the room.

NewDisplays

2011-02-03T13:13:00.000-08:00

Today we have completed the first new display in our showroom, not the biggest but it's a start!

The wallpaper is Silhouette from Harlequin's Boutique collection, this design has featured in many of the top home publications over the last few months in one of the bolder colourways. I'm not a great fan of feature walls so love this because it makes a statement without shouting. The Roman blind is also made from a Harlequin fabric, Corvini Stripe from the Juniper collection.
