Mothers Day

I've been playing around in my room a little more now that the challenge is over. No I didn't win the competition but I don't need to win that to win. I lost almost 20 pounds in 12 weeks and a total of 21 inches! So I really did win :) I signed up to continue the ~~punishment~~ Cross Fit because I really do like the intense work outs and I love the results I got!

So... Mother's day is coming up next weekend here in the States. I made another cup and a card and in time to mail them out so they get them before Mothers Day! I know! I surprised myself too! haha

This is the cup I made...

I belong to All Things Silhouette forum on Face Book and boy do they ~~enable~~ teach you a lot there. They also have a bunch of files to share. I got the 'M' from there. the font used for the 'Mom' and SuperPower is from Lettering Delights and is called 'Free Spirit'. Only $3 and in a few bundles too.

This is the card I made...

Each Mom is going to get one of each. My Mom will get this cup and Hubby's Mom will get a cup with peach color. Their favorite colors :)

Isn't it a pretty file? Oh! Did I mention that it's FREE!!??!! I didn't? Well, this file came from the great file maker Miss. Meredith over at Birds Cards. She's got a few samples that she did too. Each one is so pretty. She's the same Miss Wonderful that I got that cute little cupid for my V-day box I made for Hubby.

I did mine in a paper piecing technique. I love the final look and I'm sure the Mom's will too. After all... no matter how old you get, Mom's always love something you put the time, thought and effort into making yourself! And if not... I ordered flowers as a back up LMAO!.

Well... that's if for now. I think next I'll make a bling shirt for myself. Or maybe a bling decal. So much fun but so little time. I heart my Silhouette!

Blinging Baby!

Wow! I'm loving this blinging thing! Love love love shiny, sparkle stuff :) I bought 3 onsies from Walmart, the rhinestones sample pack from Craft Vinyl and comes with everything you need to make the flower and stars and have a bunch left over. The crown was used with Hot Pink which was a must and sold separate. I put the images in my Silhouette DE software and traced them and added an extra border for the flower. I love how they turned out and my Nephews wife loves them! BONUS!

These were quick and so easy! I purchased the crown from Silhouette but the star and flower are from Lettering Delights freebie Banner Day SVG. All you have to do for this is sign up!

Not only that but all the 'SVG' files are only $1 right now and usually have at least 6 separate files in each

I've been wanting to try some vinyl now for some time and finally did it!

I have to say, I'm quite impressed with my first attempt :)

This weekend our niece flew out from Oregon. Hubby invited her to come out and go to a concert with us and our two girls. Suicidal Tendencies is an old skater band from the Long Beach area where hubby comes from. Great work out music. Really gets your blood pumping LOL. Not music that I would normally listen to in my car but once in a while, it's nice to have some angry music with words you can't understand to just work out with. We got home at 1:00am just to get back up at 7:00am and run a 5k (3.1 miles). My personal best today too! 33min 15sec! That's almost 15 min off my last 5k just in October. LOVE THIS CROSS FIT STUFF!

Bling is my next attempt! Can't wait to dress up a new niece with blinging onesies :)

Well, it's been a while hasn't it? I've been super busy in life itself. As most of you know I work full time. Well, hubby also won me a 3 month long Cross Fit/Paleo challenge and it's been kicking my ass!

I have only 2 more weeks to go in the challenge and would love to keep going with it. I've only lost 15 pounds but the body is shaping up quite nicely! I love this kind of work out. I always have. I just didn't know that it had a name! So after I get off work at 4:30 I would drive to the gym and crochet for about 30 min waiting for my 5:30 class to begin. Work outs last an hour and I get home around 7:00 at night. After dinner I just don't have the energy to do ANYTHING! I vedge pretty much. While vedging, I found this great guy named Mikey from The Crochet Crowd. Mikey is a wonderful teacher of yarn. I learned how to make granny squares while in elementary school from a neighborhood grandma. I self taught knitting but my heart has always been with crochet. Not only does he teach step by step on his YouTube channel, but he has a crochet club with monthly challenges. I signed up and started my first challenge right away!

I love it! It's just a lap blanket but it's so purty. First time EVER doing the hexies. Told ya, he's a great teach!

Valentines is ALMOST here!!

I haven't had the time of day to craft until today. I took a mandated furlough from work, drove hubby to the airport and came right home and made this box! It's a free file from Paper Pulse

to show layers and sparkle!

The first time I saw this heart box I just HAD to make one! (cupid not included). I saw the cupid somewhere and had to have it too... but... for the life of me I can't seam to remember where I got it!

It fits a bunch if hugs and kisses in it. It stands 2 2/3" tall and 4 2/4' wide!

The top if the box almost looks like a doily with this paper that has 'love' written all over it.

I got an e-mail the other day for a new set for Valentines day! So cute! I had to get them! This light pink one is from just printing and cutting on my beloved Cameo!

The pink was OK but I wanted a little more pop so I used paper from the Hogs & Kisses paper pack.

I wanted to show you that when you use the 'print and cut' (even on this SVG set) you will see the white lines...

When they are put together the white lines aren't really that much on an eye sore.anyway... Once I re-sized it to fit my printer (letter size) I was still able to fit 17-20 Hogs and Kisses in them!

And really not worth the time to singly change every.... single.... cut line!

Then I HAD to make something with this cute love cone AND paper from the Hogs & Kisses paper set!

This one would have been the better one to take the time to take those cutting lines out LOL

How about a freebie? No need for a print and cut machine, just print and hand cut this. Makes a little black polka-dot matchbox with a wrapper and a tic-tac-toe game card to fold up and place in the box! cool hu? (sorry about the short notice)

I love Valentines Day. It's my favorite holiday. Yes... Favorite! Maybe because I know Spring is around the corner, maybe it's the pretty colors, maybe it's actually about romance and love. It just makes me happy all over.

I love this envelope from the Silhouette Store. The back flap has some personality.

This owl is also from Silhouette. Had I been thinking, the edges would have been rubbed a little.

To go with the envelope, I made this card! This was a freebie at one point.

I folded the harts and glued just the middle to give it a little pop. Dotted silver with Gelly Roll 'clear star'.

I like the way silver goes with almost everything!

I've been playing a little more with my Cameo and the Peppermint Holiday set

These are my first shot at them! Not bad, not bad! I'm really loving the print and cut feature

I created these using the tools in the Silhouette Studio by using the rounded rectangles and eclipse (round) tools. The polka dot paper was also in the Studio under Fill Pattern.

I wish I knew how to do tutorial picture shots. It's getting much easier to use the Studio. I guess practice practice practice!

This is the whole file (19 images) which is as with all graphic files are only $1 until this Thursday and also comes in cut files!

Nontraditional Christmas

Remember when I posted this with a freebie file from Silhouette? Well... I needed to make some quick Christmas cards and remembered how easy it was to use this one. Here's what I came up with...

Not one of the cards are exactly the same and I love the nontraditional colors of Christmas.

The deer is from the Peppermint Holiday graphic set, which by the way is only $1 through the 7th and has 19 graphics in all :) I brought the file into the Silhouette Studio and traced it to made a cut and used the print and cut feature for this bad boy. I'm super excited it actually worked out. I'm still getting the hang of this great feature and it's getting MUCH easier! yay!

I chose 3 double sided papers and was able to make 6 cards out of them plus the base.

I think I'm pretty much the only one in the family that loves to bake as much as I do so. This is usually the time of year that my family gets what grandma's and aunties used to make for them before.

This is one of the things that was done while my In-Law family came up to visit... Say hello to the new look of my water heater door in the back of the house! Cool hu? We had such a great time in London a couple of years back that we wanted to have something to remind us of the trip.

A little close up of some of the details... I cut a stencil with vinyl using my Cameo. I couldn't find a crown that looked just right anywhere so this one was cut by hand... by the MIL's boyfriend LOL. Such a trooper. (his decisions BTW. MIL was going to paint it by hand.)

During their visit, MIL and I went treasure hunting at the thrift stores and I found 2 donut pans for $7! So I woke up this morning and made pumpkin donuts with cinnamon sugar. sooo gooood.

So needless to say I didn't have to go cold turkey on my idea room! Speaking of Turkey... on to the freebie Friday at Lettering Delights

So today is a Holiday day off from work. Thought I would be cleaning my butt off in the house all day. Not happenin'. I figured I'd sleep in so last night I took an over the counter sleep aid and have been trying to wake up allllll day! It's now 3:00pm and still groggy. Not able to nap either because I know I have stuff to do!

Dusting... done, kitchen... done except wiping down the cabinet doors. Still need to vacuume, sweep, mop, clean the guest bathroom, clean out/up my crafty room, play with the dogs. I'm glad the aren't leaving their house until tomorrow morning which means I have time tomorrow to get what I don't do today, done!

Going MIA

A bitter sweet kinda MIA. My In-Law's are coming into town on Saturday! It's been a while since they've both been here :) Since hubby now works from home, his office is getting spiffied up on Friday afternoon because that's where the spare bed is. LOL Then... we found out that his brother might be coming with them too! Woo Hoo! This is where the bitter sweet comes into... I have to give up my crafty room until Wednesday ... Booo Hooo. I had a few more projects I wanted to do before Halloween but Thanksgiving is right around the corner so I guess new ideas will have to be in order. In the meantime... How about a good sale?

Halloween Treat Bags

Remember a few days back when I told you about the cute little Boo-ligans at Lettering Delights?

I made these quick cuties using my Silhouette Cameo and the SCAL3's 'print and cut' feature. I finally figured out how to use this with the SCAL3! Yay!

Trial and error, throwing away a few pieces of paper along the way, watching YouTube tutorials and finally came to figuring the final outcome on my own :) Usually the video tutorials help out a lot but this time not so much.

I love how these came out. Such a quick way to mass make goodie bags.

You can still get the file for only $4 which comes with files in ai, dxf, eps, gsd, svg. svg by layers and pdf! If you need png it's so easy to make those out of the svg's. Let me know if you need help with that. Don't forget about the recent FREEBIE I let you know about on Friday!

Christmas Cone Ornament - Freebie!!

I'm having so much fun with my Cameo lately! Love being able to use all this horded paper! Maybe someday I'll have some rhyme and/or reason to my chick cave. Yah, here's to hopes and dreams....

This morning I bring to you a Cone Ornament. This is the newest FREE SVG from SVGCuts. Super easy as always. I used this cone as a gift idea for a fellow paper crafter by adding lace, buttons and paper roses :)

I had some 'ugly' paper to use. I mean it was really ugly. It came in a paper packet. Gold background with BIG gold ornaments all over it. I was happy to use this ugly paper for my cone knowing I would be covering it up with some better paper. HA!

I rubbed the tea dye on all edges of the cone as well as the panels. I used green buttons that I've had for yeeaaarrrsss so the handle wouldn't slip through the holes.

Used some off-white roses I've had just as long as the buttons I think...

And some bling of course :)

So here's the acorn from the file. First of all... my Cameo actually sounded like it was singing while cutting this. I should have recorded it. I started by using the tacky glue as they due on the tutorial but I'm just so messy with the stuff. You can actually see where I got too much, tried to clean it up or just left my finger prints on it from the glue. I eventually ended using my tape gun and it was much neater for me.

Add some yummy to the mix and wallah you have a stinkin' fun gift! Hubby has already eaten the contents. Good sign!

I didn't wait as long to use this file. Remember the falling leaf card I made here? This is from the same set and is only $6.99! There's a few more files that come with these two also. I've just not made them yet. But oh, does that album look fun! You really have to go to the sight and watch the video. She flips through all the pages. I've linked the picture so go right there so you don't have to hunt and peck. (yah, I'm nice that way... wink)
