I’m very happy to announce my podcast short story, GalaxyBillies’ Christmas is now available on Wattpad. A couple things make this important to me: I really love the GalaxyBillies’ characters and universe. Ever since I wrote the original story I’ve wanted to get back at it. I have two more books in that trilogy in my mind and several spin offs so I should probably get to work on them. The other reason is, this is such a sweet story. I was thinking I would put my GalaxyBillies Christmas story up on Wattpad. I had originally written it to be podcast (you can find it here) and thought it would be fun to share it once again. Then, I noticed the date of the story: December 2011. Holy Cow! I can’t believe it has been so long since I wrote a GalaxyBillies story. I’ve got two projects that have to happen first, but I guess it is high time I got going on the next book in the trilogy. I have known for a while that 2015 was shaping up to be an interesting year. Jack Kane and the Statue of Liberty (written with JR Murdock) is due for release in June from Burst/Champagne Books and I have submitted the manuscript for book 3 of Mik Murdoch (currently titled Mik Murdoch: Crisis of Conscience) to my publisher. But that is only the start. Jeff Hite and I are releasing the much anticipated (at least by us) anthology, Dimensional Abscesses in a couple very short weeks. This book represents the beginning of our new publishing venture, Evil Alter Ego Press. We have several fantastic stories and an absolutely amazing cover. When I was a kid, we only ever listened to one radio station. It was a local station that played round-the-clock country music. Not a terrible thing, but also not something that gave me any real exposure to the broader pleasures radio could bring. It wasn’t until many years later that I discovered radio plays. In fact, I think the first one I ever listened to was Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (BBC – Douglas Adams). To this day, that story is one of my favorites and definitely defines my sense of humour. I’ve finished putting Boyscouts of the Apocalypse up on Wattpad and I’m still waiting and watching to see if I get the full results I was hoping for. So far, I’ve had a good response to the story. Not stellar, mind you, but good. The exercise has helped me to solidify my own plans for the story. And just what are those plans, you might ask (or perhaps you might not)? When I made the decision to write and podcast “GalaxyBillies”, I wasn’t entirely sure what I was getting myself into. Would people like the story? Would they hate it? Would I be able to pull it off at all? But, since without risk there can be no reward, I decided to take a stab at it. As we all do, I watched eagerly for any feedback I could get. And I watched… and then I watched some more. I eventually started to see some positive feedback trickle in and I was relieved when nothing bad was forthcoming. So far, so good.
