Hello bloggers. I'm in need of your support. I have been accepted into the BFA Film program offered by the College of Arts & Humanities at the University of Central Florida. Out of 300 students that applied 30 have been accepted. I am passionate and honored to start this journey to become a Filmmaker. I see an environment where people come together that learn and create ideas to produce movies. This highlights and exemplifies all that our community has to offer. Grapes of Wrath

Even though the critics didn't like that the movie was depressing and pretentious, it was still became a huge hit with the audience. The reason it was so popular was because it portrayed realism. With the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl, the farmers had to leave their land, which made matters more difficult and hard to cope with. Families had to pack up, leave the homes they grow up and travel all the way to California to try to find work. Even though it was during a challenging time to live in,they had strength and courage to keep moving forward. When I watched this movie, I see that it captures the understanding of what happened in the 1930s. The audience could relate to the storytelling, because it showed the truth of the things they've been through. The actors did amazing job with delivering their lines and speeches. The Grapes of Wrath movie, showed that these poor people were trying to work together day by day just to survive. Its amazing movie that became greatly respected by the audience.

The Cask of Amontillado

Revenge of a friend..

In The Cast of Amontillado, the two guys were friends. Whatever happened in the past in the past, Montresor is still upset and is holding a grudge against his friend. I think that he gets even more upset, when he sees Fortunato has forgotten of what happened. And with that, Montresor seems to be excited about planning his friend's murder, because he has no idea what is about to come. I sad part about this is that, Montresor can't move on from the past, he is glad to kill Fortunato. The story theme foreshadows what is going to happen. There is darkness in the scenes and gives off a bad vibe to the story. Montresor slowly hints why he wants to kill Fortunato. The conversation between the two, the look in his eyes, and the leading to the dungeons are signs lead up to climax. They even talk about Fortunato's terrible cough. Montresor acts like he worries about him, but his cold heart couldn't care less. Fortunato says that his death, will not be ended because of his coughing. At that point, Montresor is thinking that this statement is true, because he will be the cause of his former friend's death.

A trip to the moon!

I loved watching the short film, A trip to the moon. It was great to see the amazing artwork that made the illusion of the secenry look so real. The actors were funny and witty. I liked that this film had storytelling in it. The best part was watching the special effects. I can see that this movie took a lot of preparation before shooting. Another thing that I found interesting was how captivating the movie was for 14 minutes. It doesn't seem like its a long movie, but during that time most films only lasted about one to two minutes. It was really amazing to see the techniques used for making the special effects in the film. This movie has so much imagination and creativity. It shows that film making was starting to go into a new direction towards sci-fi. If was one of the people watching a movie like this, I'll would have been blown away by all of the action and adventure it had. Back in 1902 it must have been a big anticipation just waiting for a film like this to be released. I can't imagine all the audiences' expression, when seeing people fight with aliens and watching astronomers getting blasted to the moon in a rocket. This movie is surely an escape from reality!

Underwater Photo Shoot

I'm going to have an underwater photo shoot with some of my friends this weekend. Trying to take advantage of the nice Florida weather we have. Hopefully the water won't be cold. I was looking up some ideas of what kind of themes would be good to shoot and I came across these beautiful pictures of women in dresses. Looking at these pics gave me so much inspiration, I went through my closet looking for a dress I never wear. I had an idea to stop by a thrift store and see what I could find.

I got a little carried away when I went shopping. These are the things I bought. The dresses that had a lot of fabric were a little high in price. I went to the fabric corner and found a pink see through curtain panel for only $4! I had this picture in mind when I saw it. The prices for everything I got were very good. I'm happy with the items it bought. I can't wait for the shoot!

The values I have is God, family and music. Each one has made me become aware of the life I have and taught me not to take things for granted. Knowing my weaknesses and fears make me want to achieve them. The deal is with my life is to become a movie director. My values are going to make me have faith in myself. I'm really to get over my fears, because its going to make me become stronger. Having a job as a movie director, is going to make me share the vision I have as a filmmaker.

My values make me appreciate the things I have in my life. It's good to realize to be happy and content, because sometimes materialistic things can drag me to become a selfish person. And no, I'm not taking about the good type of selfish. Having my values give me discipline, and shows me the true meaning of why I'm here. They make me strive to become the best of what I can be. They are the foundation of my life and makes me want to fulfill the meanings of it. Understanding the values, gives me faith and hope in my life.

I'm going to become a better person when I accomplish my fears and weaknesses that I have, because its all about trying to grow as a person. Being less stress out is something that I need to work on. I'm trying find ways of overcoming this, because its going to make me have a more healthier lifestyle. My fear in heights were always a problem. Going on roller coasters have helped me a little, but its going to take a lot more. When I get this fear on control, I can be able to enjoy it. I hope I can look out a window of a skyscraper or overlook the view on a mountain top; without being scared. Another thing I want is to become an artist. After learning how to draw, paint, and sculpt, I'll put my skills to the test. I'll be able to apply the knowledge I'll have and creating artwork that expresses feelings and emotions, that sometimes can't be said by words, but rather through art.

The dream of becoming an film director is the deal in my life. Working to create an motion picture for everyone to see it more than what I could ask for. This is what makes me want to achieve when I graduate college. This why I'm going to college; to make this dream come true. I have so much passion for this field I hope that someday I'll become a famous movie director and work on movies that would be shown in theaters.

I'm going to make the best out of my life and going to go for my dreams and will be working hard in school. I will learn to become a better person and knowing what I got. Being happy and finding what I want in life will make me realize that's what it's all about through life's journey. It's going to teach me to grow, love, and respect the blessings I have in my life.

Analyze: J.K. Rowling and the Harry Potter books

With the best-selling books of the of the Harry Potter series, J.K. Rowling has become the wealthiest woman in the United Kingdom. She created the story of a young boy who finds out that he is a wizard and enters an unforgettable world of magic. The Harry Potter books have captivated an international phenomenon. The reasons why it has become so popular, are because of the unique characters, the dealing of relationships, and how the story itself expands to an audience of not only appealing to children but also to adults as well.

Taking a look back, the people throughout Joanne's life, where the inspirations of the characters in the book. During her youth, she lived four houses away from a the Potter family, Joanne got the idea of using their last name for Harry's. The children in the family played with Joanne and her sister. They dressed up and pretended to be wizards. One of the siblings, Ian, always had a liking of pranking his sister, Vikki. The 'up to no good' brother, went to become the building blocks of Harry's best friend's older twin brothers.Another thing I found interesting, is that her mean math teacher, Mrs. Morgan that had placed Jo in the 'stupid row', gave the personality traits to a cold and strict teacher, Processor Snape.

Joanne's relationships dealt with in her in her life, had given the readers understand of reality. Death had became a main role throughout the books. Harry's parents were killed when he was just a baby. Joanne's mother had died after ten years fighting with the cancer MS. The relationship between mother and child with the love that is shared, seems to me that, it was written to show how in the good wins over the bad. One thing I noticed that the books were dedicated to her sister, mother, and children, but never to her father. Maybe it had to do with the fact that shortly after her mother's death, her father, Peter, remarried another woman. This made me questioned if Joanne was upset enough to give the name of character, Peter Pettigrew, who happened to become a betrayer to his friends. On the more brighter side, Ron Weasley, Harry Potter's best friend was influenced by Joanne's best friend, Sean Harris.They had become friends in Joanne's last year at her high school. His old turquoise Ford Anglia car, which they would go for rides to get away from the tough times in life, made two appearances in the second book. One time in the beginning, where the car takes them off to the Hogwarts school and the another at the end of the book where it saves the boys' lives.

The story of the book, shows different likenesses to a divers group of readers. I have a sense that J.K. Rowling understands how children feel like when they have no powers in a ruling world of adults. When Harry was told he is a famous wizard, made me have so much pride and joy for being a kid. And for the adults, well, having an independence of powers and the story has a way of bringing them back to their childhood, makes them have an admiration for Harry. Joanne's story welcomes anyone that reads the books to a world of imagination she has created. I am so thankful for Joanne's book. She has made reading fun and enjoying in a time where children turned to play video games and watched more tv. She has helped into getting kids to explore reading books again.

Harry Potter has been a big part of my life as to many other people as well. I've read all seven books, which means I've stuck through with Harry, until the end. J.K. Rowling has been kept the story of the books true to the herself and to the die hard fans. There is a way that readers can connect to the books and also have the knowledge behind the magic.

Its hard to imagine a person could become a billionaire just by writing childrens books. The author of the Harry Potter books, J. K. Rowling was the first person to accomplish that. According to U.S. publisher Scholastic, the seven books of the Harry Potter series, had more over 450 million copies sold worldwide and were translated into 68 languages. The books where followed by movies, that expanded the world of Harry Potter to the big screen. Even with this sucusses Rowling still stays true to herself and remembers where she came from. She supports several charities , also has set up one that helps one parent families. It also does studies on the disease of Multiple Sclerosis and reseach the causes and treatment of it. The making of the first Harrry Potter book, wasn't a walk in the park for the author. It was rather such a big deal in her life, that even in the smallest ideas might have gone sometimes unnoticed by readers. J.K. Rowling had put forshadows throughout her life and wrote them in the books. The sense of reality is put into a fictional world she has created, makes the Harry Potter books relatable to a wide range of auidence.

In the summer of 1965, in Chipping Sodbury, Gloucestershire, England, Joanne Kathleen Rowling was born. Her mother, Anne, was a lab technician and her father, Peter, worked as an aircraft factory manager. Almost two years later, in a bedroom of the family's home, Joanne's mother gave birth to a her sister, named Diannie. The sisters were best friends while growing up. Joanne made up stories to entertain her little sister. In the stories they would act out the characters for fun. 'Joanne' was rarely called by anyone, but only when her parents were angry at her, they had used her first name. She was instead called by her nickname, "Jo". When she was six years old, she had written her first story, called Rabbit. It was about a rabbit that had gotten sick with the measles and had the company of visitors, one of which was a giant bee, who's name was Miss Bee.

During Joanne's youth, she had moved twice, once at four and the other at nine. The second time she had moved wasn't as enjoyable as the first. The change from happy and relaxing days playing with her close friends Ian and Vikki Potter, to having to go through the death of one of her grandparent's, was difficult at a young age. This incident had affected her when she attended her new school in Tutshill. Her teacher Mrs. Morgan had given her a test on the first day of school, which Joanne got all the wrong answers. She placed Jo in the "stupid row". She also was being made fun of by her peers. They had giving her nicknames like Rolling Pin and Rolling Stone. Although she had a hard time throughout school, Joanne took pleasure in reading and writing. Stories by the authors, Paul Gallico, Noel Streatfield, Edith Nesbit and C.S. Lewis, were a few favored by Joanne in her childhood. Her most favorite author was activist, Jessica Mitford, she had become Joanne's heroine. In her teenage years, Joanne's mother became sick and she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at the of thirty-five. Even though her mother was ill, Joanne was still making good grades. She became head girl at the last year of her high school. She went to the University of Exeter and majored in French and literature.

The dream of becoming a writer was momentarily out of reach, for Joanne, she didn't have the willingness to get her stories published. She took classes to become a bilingual secretary. Even though she didn't like being a secretary , it was a job that could pay the bills. Later on, she managed to get job at Amnesty International, where she reached human-rights abuses in French-speaking Africa. A couple years pasted by when she was asked to move in with her boyfriend to Manchester. She decided to live with him and after looking at apartments in Manchester, Joanne had taken a long train ride back to London, where she had the idea of a young orphaned boy named, Harry Potter. She was imagining a wizarding world and creating characters without a pen to write with and was too shy to ask for one. By the time she arrived at her apartment, she jotted down the inspiring ideas on paper. While she worked at Manchester Chamber of Commerce, Rowling tried to get every chance she could, to continue writing more to the Harry Potter story. A couple months later on the day of December 30th, 1990, she gotten a call from her father; mother had died from multiple sclerosis. Joanne was always sad by her mother's death. She regrets not telling her about the Harry Potter story.

She felt like had to get away from the emotional heartache and so she packed up her things when she got excepted a job as an English teacher in Portugal, where she meet and married journalist, Jorge Arantes. They had one daughter named, Jessica Isabel, but shortly after, their marriage ended. Rowling returned back to Britain where she lived close to her sister, Diannie, in Edinburgh, Scotland. She decided to share her fiction story of Harry Potter to her sister, who encouraged Joanne to finish writing the book. Rowling, who was a single parent, working part-time and living on welfare, but continued to write for a year. Once she had finished the book, Rowling went to look up agents, where she then had sent out a couple chapters from the book. A book agent, Christopher Little became interest in the book and represented Jo, into getting her book published. After a couple of rejections, she got a offering of $3,600 from Bloomsbury. She was told that she needed to change her name on the cover, because it might discourage boys of not wanting to read a book written by a female. She choose her grandmother's name, Kathleen, which helped made the name of J.K. Rowling. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone won the British Book Awards' Children's Book of the Year and many other awards as well. In 2001, she married her second husband, Dr. Neil Murray and had two more children a couple years later, whose names are David and Mackenzie Murray. Rowling spent 8 years working on the the next six books for the series. She is currently about to launch a website, so Harry Potter fans can join together in the online community. The site, pottermore.com, will be open to the public on October 31, 2011.

What do I value?

When asked, 'What do I value?', I was thinking in a way of how that defines the question, 'What do I love?'. There many things I feel that are important to me, but above all Jesus, my family and music, are the highest values in my life.

I am blessed that I'm here living this beautiful life, and its all worth it because of Jesus Christ. He took not just my sins, but took everyone's sins away when He died on the cross. Jesus has given me the faith to believe in Him for salvation. He was devoted to God and even though Jesus had to go through the terrible things in His life, He persevered and reached goals. I live my life to the fullest, because in my heart I know that Jesus is my strength.

For all the times I've been through, if its good or bad my family is always there for me. All the tasks that I have in life, they have given me support and encouragement. My parents help me through school and work, showing me how to become prepared for the real world. My mother is an amazing cook and teaches me to how to cook Thai food, so one day I'll be able to cook for my own family just the way my mom does. My father and I are both free spirited artist people. He tells me to go for my dreams and make what I can out of my life. And I guess I can't forget my brother. He is the only person I have know almost my whole life and even though we fight and bicker, we also love each other.

The last thing I truly value is music. There are times when I feel hurt, angry, sad, or just frustrated, but when I listen to music, it makes me feel better. I even play the drums or the piano to free my mind of stress. The sound of the beat or the slightest touch of the keys, makes me opens my heart and spirit to the world of imagination. Things are only half as good if there wasn't any music. The actors in movie can give all what they got, but with no soundtrack, it wouldn't have really capture and emphasis the real meaning of the movie. Star Wars, Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, Memoirs of a Geisha, Jurassic Park and Jaws wouldn't have been as memorable, if it wasn't for the work of composer, John Williams. Listening to just to only a few seconds of the music can recapture the feeling and emotion of the movie's theme.

I'm glad say that my life has given and taught me values. They are things I'll always will hold on to and nobody can take that away. I'm thankful for the importance of what they have on my life. The death of Christ had made all of them possible. My family is what I treasure the most and being able to listen so music is will always be inspiring to me.

What do I want?

Being rich, having a nice car and big house, was the first things that popped in my mind, when I thought of the things I wanted. That's more of a dream and seemed to be wanting material things. I questioned myself again, and this time I thought of the things that where bothering me now and wanted them to be fixed. I realized that I wanted to be less stressed out with school, overcome my fear of heights, and to become an artist.

The first thing I want, is be less stressed out with school. I'm striving to make A's in my classes all the time. I'm not trying to be a perfectionist, because nobody is. Sometimes I get scared, and think that if I let myself get a B or C in one of my classes, it will become a domino effect. That's what happened back in high school and it made my feel like it wasn't worth trying anymore. Now being in college, it makes me feel like I don't want mess up. Its hard to keep up with my classes, but I try my best. So far I've taken a total of six classes in college and gotten A's in all of them. I know that one day I'm going to get a B or lower, but I just want be able to except it as it is and move on.

Next, is that I want to overcome my fear of heights. I've been working on this for awhile. I went on the roller coasters at Busch Gardens. Shikra was my first one. When I was two hundred feet up and looking ninety degrees straight down, I felt like I had no control of anything. I realized that was the problem. I just needed to let go and be free. It worked, after the ride was over, I had a feeling of relief. I'm still no doubt scared of heights, but doing this, will make me more used to heights and hopefully overcome it.

The last thing I want, is to become an artist. A good at that. When I see the incredible work of Peter Paul Ruben and the complex creations by Salvador Dali, it makes me see just how talented people can really be. I want to achieve that and express myself in a way in which it seems effortless and everything would flow naturally, just like the paintings done by these artists. I have an idea of what to paint, but the problem is that I get overwhelmed when I look at a blank canvas. Maybe its best just to paint and not worry about if it looks good.

I picked out these types of self-development wants, was because it made me aware that they are more suitable to accomplish in the near future. I now understand that its not about wanting the material goods, because that might make me want more. After that, the want comes from greed and that's something I don't want to happen. Figuring out that improving myself as a better person, was what I really wanted.

My deal in life 3

My deal is that in life I want to achieve my goals and dreams.The biggest achievement for me is to become a movie director. I've always wanted to become a director ever since I saw Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the third grade. When I watched the behind the scenes, I became intrigued by the movie's lights, camera, and action. It made me realize and that directing movies was what I wanted to do in my life.

Now, I have become a college student and my love for film is stronger than ever. I'm taking on as a full-time student, because I want to reach my dream as fast as I can. My plans are to study at SPC for two years in Digital Media, then transfer for two more years at a university to finish in film degree. I want to learn as much as I can. I'm obsessed always changing film world, there's always new and better things coming out. The HD, editing software, 3D cameras, animation, and sound are things that keep enhancing every year.

California is the next stop I will be heading for after I graduate. There are better chances in Los Angeles, because that's the place where the deals are being made. I will have a more understanding of how the game is played and knowing who I need to be working with in order to get to the next step. I will also be making partnerships with other people and getting the knowledge of the different types of companies that are in the city.

A dream of mine in film making is that I can have the opportunity to work with amazing and talented people. Everyone from the writers, editors, producers all working together to make a movie. What is great about this job is the exciting events that happen in the days of shooting a film. I think that getting up in the morning and going to the movie set to exploded cars or have zombies chasing people makes a job not seem like a job at all! The most greatest thing to me, is to be able to work with the actors. This is a far stretch from now, but I would be so happy just to be on the set with the most versatile actor in Hollywood; Johnny Depp. Its not just because of his good looks, but its his ability to change characters with such ease and grace.

I hope that one day I can become a successful filmmaker and to inspire and help other women to pursue goals in the film industry. I've finished two of my classes in college. Passed math and speech classes with A's. I was worried with my speech, because I got so nervous when I spoke in front of the class. The students in there are quite most of the time ( which annoyed me a lot) The teacher would ask questions, but barely anyone replied back. I'm glad that I'm done with that class! Now, to pack for my summer vacation road trip. so excited!!!!! Leaving for three weeks, and I'm going to miss my blog. I'm definitely going to have a massive upload of pictures when I come back =D

I took these pics a couple weeks ago, but I forgot where I saved them in my computer. Luckily, I was cleaning out my folders and happened to find them, There not much just me hanging out with my friends after my math class. Tomorrow is the final and I think my final is an A, never know for sure... fingers crossed though!! I have to study and review everything so I can manage to get that! I got a 100% on the last test.. Hope everyone is well, if anyone is there. Today I went to Speech Class. I worked on my group speech. There's four people, but one girl won't be able to come to class on the day on the speech so I doing her part, but she still going to help out by writing the outline. We're doing a marketing speech. It's going to be our 4th and last speech for the class. The idea of our project, is to take a product that's all ready been made and build more creative things with it. I suggested to market the prefect sunglasses. My grouped liked the idea and came up with a name.

We called the sunglasses, Triple Vision 3.0. It's mirrored, so you could see behind you. Next, with a push of a button on the side, the night vision would start -helping you see through the dark. There is the availability of getting them in prescription. With this feature, they can change from light to dark just like Transitions brand. Lastly, the price for these prefect sunglasses are a whole lot cheaper than the designer brands. Our prices are under $100. They have a style that can be beat! They look just like any other sunglasses, but can do three to an optional four more things that a normal pair of sunglasses can't.
