Intel's recently rumored to unveil the newest generation of processors, Ivy Bridge, in April to come.Ivy Beridge processor for laptops and desktops, the promise to improve the performance of approximately 37 percent larger than Sandy Bridge processors.

Reported Itworld, Monday (02/01/2012), Ivy Bridge, the new CPU architecture using 22 nanometers, which makes measuring 30 percent smaller than current processors, which use 32-nanometer architecture.

Smaller chip means less power consumption, and more room for the integrated graphics chip. Ivy Bridge can support DirectX 11, Thunderbolt, and USB 3.0.

According to DigiTimes, Ivy Bridge, the first processor to be launched is a quad-core processors for desktops, the Core i7-Core processor 3370 also i53570, 3550, and 3440. Because the Ivy Bridge is backward-compatible (compatible with previous versions), desktop users should be able to find an upgrade path that has been available.

Ivy's first notebook to be sliding bridge is the Core i7, but it also Core i7-3920QM, 3820QM, and 3720QM.

You bring out a netbook that's so cheap you can't possibly pass it by – and that's exactly what Samsung has done with its NC110.

It's a real foot in the door of the market at £236 – cheaper than the likes of the Asus Eee PC 1018P, the Packard Bell Dot SE or even the Acer Aspire One 522. In fact, it's the cheapest netbook around.

When we reviewed the original Samsung NC10, we didn’t find it to be the flashiest netbook. While the N110 didn’t get a drastic remodeling, the matte lid has been replaced with a black glossy coating, and though it looks sleeker, it’s a magnet for fingerprints. The system also takes on a softer look with rounded edges around the palm rests. The burgundy trim along the bottom edge of the chassis takes styling cues from other Samsung notebooks, like the R610, and offers a professional look.

After playing a video at full screen for 15 minutes, we measured 90 degrees Fahrenheit on the NC110's touchpad and 91 in the middle of the underside. The space between the G and H keys was a little hotter than we'd like (96 degrees). The vent area on the left side of the netbook reached 107 degrees--well above our acceptable threshold--but our lap never felt toasty.

Although the keys are a bit small, we like the look of the NC110's island-style layout. We experienced good travel and springy tactile feedback. All of the keys are placed properly, and we didn't notice any flex.

As for who might use the WiFi Mobile Mouse, laptop owners seem like an obvious target. Bluetooth still isn't a universal laptop feature, and with an ever-growing number of external devices that need synching, travelers especially may appreciate a device that frees up a USB port.

In addition to the Wi-Fi mouse, HP is also releasing new PC accessories for its Link-5 technology, which allows users to connect as many as five HP-compatible computer accessories with one receiver using 2.4-GHz wireless technology. The new accessories include the HP Wireless Mini Keyboard, the Wireless Ultrathin Wireless Keyboard, the Wireless Elite v2 Keyboard, the Wireless Optical Comfort Mouse, the Wireless Laser Comfort Mouse and the Wireless Mobile Mouse. Toshiba Portege R830 Picture was one of the first ultraportable laptops on the market to still offer a full feature-set despite its small dimensions and light weight. With the Portege R830 (PT321A-01L002), that tradition of fitting lots of stuff into a small frame continues, and not only that, it also features a full-voltage, Second Generation Intel Core i5 CPU. Indeed, there are many positives about this 13.3in, 1.4kg laptop, chief among them being exceptional performance, but there are also some negatives, such as the screen, which isn't the most vibrant we've seen.

Toshiba's older mobile business notebooks under their Tecra line weren't bad, but stylistically were well behind the times. Made chiefly of ABS plastic, these notebooks unfortunately didn't look like much of an improvement over, say, an HP G-series notebook, and they inherited some of the same problems that plagued Toshiba's consumer notebooks. The older Tecras are big and bulky, but since the success of the R700, Toshiba has taken the hint and completely rearchitected their 14" and 15.6" Tecra notebooks while updating the Portege. Samsung Chrome OS Netbook Review | in the midst of all the Google Android, iOS and Windows Phone 7 news, everyone seems to have forgotten about Google Chrome OS that was supposed to be launched. There was even the Google Cr-48 notebook which was released but never saw the light of day in India. It was limited to a few users. Finally, there is some news on the upcoming line of Google OS netbooks from Acer and Samsung.

Codenamed “Alex,” ChromeNieuws.nl is reporting that the 12.1-inch Samsung netbook will sport a 1280x800 resolution screen, run on a 1.5GHz Intel Atom N550 processor with 2GB RAM, and carry a SSD of unknown capacity for storage. Connectivity options such as Bluetooth, 3G, and Wi-Fi should all be coming standard, as well as USB ports, card reader, and VGA-out. The source describes the system as being similar in specifications to the CR-48 Google netbook.

Google had promised that the first Chrome OS computers would ship in mid-year and might use its Google I/O conference May 10 to show the first hardware using a finished version of the OS. Developers recently noticed that Chrome OS is now considered stable and, in Google's terms, should therefore be near ready to ship.

Either way, shipments should begin around the middle of the year, since that is the period when all Chrome OS machines are set to pour in.

What remains is to see, besides pricing, is how open prospective buyers are to the idea of doing everything online instead of on their laptops' own HDDs/SSDs.

HP ultraportable 3105m Fusion launching may | HP is readying to release an ultra-portable notebook for business professionals, NotebookItalia reported on Tuesday. The 11.6-inch HP 3105m is nearly identical in appearance to the existing, consumer-oriented Pavilion dm1z but uses slightly different specs under the skin. This mainly includes a 1.6GHz, dual-core AMD Fusion E-350 CPU.

The notebook, called the HP 3105m, will reportedly be powered by a 1.6GHz dual-core AMD Fusion E-350 with integrated Radeon HD 6310 graphics. This should allow for smooth 1080p video streams from the rather diminutive 11.6-inch notebook, with an impressive 9.5 hours of continuous use on its 6-cell battery. Additionally, the source is also claiming that users will have the option to choose between Windows 7, FreeDOS, or Linux operating systems before purchasing the laptop.

A similar upgrade in software options was made for the HP 630 and HP 635 to differentiate from the HP Pavilion g Series. These models have in addition to the OS options for the 3105m, SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 11 and SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop choices. Also the HP 630 doesn’t come with a rainbow selection of colors available for buyers to pick from, like the consumer focused HP Pavilion g Series offers.

Additionally, the chip containing the AMD Radeon HD 6310 graphics core supports DirectX 11, 320GB hard drive and a six-cell battery used in 9.5 hours. There is also 2GB of RAM as well as the option of Windows 7, FreeDOS or Linux operating systems. HP 3105m’s estimated price is $ 449 .

The Acer Iconia Tab W500 Tablet will be released at the price tag of 499 euros or £529 inc VAT in early April 2011.

If the price point provided by the aforementioned source proves to be the right one, then we'd dare to say that the Iconia W500 from Acer will manage to offers users a very good value, given the fact that it will be one of the most affordable such products available on the European market, not to mention the fact that's able to deliver a very good level of performance.

The PC however is awash with great games, including some of the finest titles ever created on any platform - Half Life 2, Diablo and Civilization to name but a few. And all these games will run on the Iconia Tab W500.
This makes the decision to side with Microsoft for the operating system compelling, although this isn't the only option out there. Apple's iOS isn't about to appear on a third party machine, but the imminent release of Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) for tablets must surely have tempted Acer as well. While it lacks the straight compatibility that Microsoft Windows OS offers, it does potentially make for a more suited OS for day-to-day tasks.

Lenovo could be planning on releasing a ThinkPad tablet in the near future.
All of that will be packed into a 1.6 pound body – quite light if you ask me. The leaked slide points to a target ship month of July for 9. For a tablet with so much going for it, it already sounds like a winner, but as most of us know, if it has a lousy battery, it’ll be dead on arrival.It will be slightly thicker and heavier than the iPad 2, but it rocks several hardware goodies we haven't seen in a Honeycomb tablet yet including USB 2.0 and a SD card slot.

The price for it will apparently be at $499 for the basic model, which leaves out a number of options, like the broadband connection or the dock. It should be released at some point between July and September.
Android tablets in the workplace are still very young and have virtually no presence in a climate so far dominated by the iPad. Lenovo may be the first to seriously test Apple's workplace position by relying both on enterprise-level software and the assumptions that go behind its brand name.

Lenovo has launched the ThinkPad X1 ultraportable laptop in Europe. The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 laptop is boasts a 2.5GHz Core i5-2520M processor, a 13.3-inch (1366 × 768) Gorilla Glass screen, Intel HD integrated graphics, 8GB of RAM and a 160GB solid state drive with pre-loaded with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit OS.

Performance would also be an emphasis and would manage to fit a full-power, 2.5GHz Core i5 notebook chip instead of the low-voltage processors currently in Apple's line. Only one RAM slot would exist, but a singular 8GB stick would give it enough RAM to stay ahead of demand. Expansion would be modernized as well with a mix of USB 3.0, eSATA, an SDXC card reader, and a hybrid "Digital Display Port" that could output to either DisplayPort or HDMI.

The thin size wouldn't preclude a 10-hour battery life, although it's not certain that Lenovo is following the tougher testing standards Apple is using for its seven-hour figure.

Regarding battery, the successor of the X300 series provides up to 5 hours of operation on a single charge. The battery life can be extended to 10 hours with an additional slice unit.

Other notable features include a spill-resistant isle keyboard, Lenovo UltraNav trackpad and TrackPoint stick, Dolby Home Theater audio, 3G mobile broadband, USB 3.0, DisplayPort connector, and a fingerprint reader.
The X1 is already listed on the Swiss retailer for the equivalent of about $2900 USD, although it will almost assuredly retail for less when officially released in the U.S. If the May launch schedule holds true, stay tuned for official announcements from Lenovo regarding the X1 release in the coming weeks.

Asus P31F-RO108X Review | We have here the latest addition to Asus' business line-up in review with the P31F-RO108X. The Asus U36JC clearly represents the consumer counterpart from which the P31F took a few cues and even improved upon somewhat. The 13.3" display has a resolutions 1366 x 768 pixels, but also offers a matte surface. The chassis has been modified a bit and isn't quite as slim and light. But its still capable of showing its face with a weight of 1.9 kilograms.

Someone has bought the model i just mentioned, put up some global reviews and said he would put up some pictures soon. The screen is matte, thats for sure and the battery seems to do at least as good as the u36jc. Dimensionwise it is a little bit thicker and heavier than the u36jc, but im guessing this benefits the p31 in terms of heat production.

Im considering to buy this P31J, but right now im wondering if its really worth the money, as hardware-wise you dont get alot of bang for buck and the value(for instance the samsung sf310 gives you an additional optical drive and a Nvidia 310M 1GB for 100 euro's, about 130 american dollars, less) would have to come from build quality and battery life for me.

MSI has announced their two Sandy Bridge powered laptops namely MSI FX620DX and FX420 has the better performance and with multimedia experience.
