Mass Effect 3 Demo Includes Xbox Live Gold Membership

For those of you Xbox players that do not currently have a Xbox Live Gold Membership are in luck. Those nice people over at Bioware and Microsoft are going to hook you up with a free Gold Membership when you download the Demo of Mass Effect 3. The membership will last till Mass Effect 3 is released which is March 6th. And for those of you wondering if this means you will only have access to Mass Effect 3 stuff you thought wrong. According to Bioware themselves you will also get all the other benefits of having a Gold Membership.

Many people have asked whether a gold Xbox Live account would be required in order to play the upcoming Mass Effect 3 multiplayer demo and the answer is Yes, a gold xbox live account will be required to play the Mass Effect 3 multiplayer demo.

Now, before you start ranting and crying and burning me in effigy…. Good news, everyone! The demo of Mass Effect 3 will include a limited time Gold access when you download the demo.

Here is the word I was just sent from our friends over at Microsoft:
“In celebration of ME3, Xbox is pleased to provide fans access to ME3 demo multiplayer for the time leading to launch. Xbox LIVE Gold gives you exclusive benefits including multiplayer gaming, member-only deals & previews, and access to entertainment with Netflix, ESPN, Hulu Plus and more.”

So now everyone with Xbox Live, whether you already have XBL Gold or not, will be able to play the Mass Effect 3 multiplay demo.

So what this means is that even if you don’t have any interest in Mass Effect 3 (which also means you are a crazy person) then you can still at least download the demo and get free Gold Membership status for a couple of weeks. Pretty sweet deal if you ask me.

Playstation and PC players don’t have to worry about this as their online is already free. So please hold back the tears PS3 and PC peeps.

I never got around to finishing up this game and with Arkham City out and how awesome it looks I figured I would finally sit down and play this all the way through.
