Following the release of Manhunt last week, Rockstar is preparing to release another PS2 classic on the PlayStation Network.

Rockstar confirmed today via PlayStation Blog that The Warriors will be re-released on PlayStation Store on May 28th.

The Warriors game is based on the 1979 movie of the same name, featuring a street gang that has to fight their way through NYC as they head for the safety of their home turf on Coney Island.

Grab it on May 28 in the US for USD$9.99 and May 29 in Europe.

The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing pits players in fierce battles against familiar supernatural foes in a one-of-a-kind action-RPG. Following the journey of  Van Helsing, son of the famed vampire hunter Abraham Van Helsing, players can partake in immersive cooperative multiplayer to watch the engrossing dark storyline unfold.

A tale wrought with wry humour and snappy dialogue, the dark adventure presents larger-than-life obstacles to overcome yet delivers a romantic charm of a fantastical 19th century Europe.

Eidos-Montréal has announced today that THIEF is being developed for Xbox One, the newly unveiled games and entertainment system from Microsoft.

Experience the legendary adrenaline pumping action as Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today announces Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition for PC. Windows PC players can now face-off with Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition, named the Fighting Game of the Year by Spike TV at the 2011 Video Game Awards.

Players enter the realm to face the Kombatants in Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition for PC , delivering all of the downloadable content, including intrepid warriors Skarlet, Kenshi and Rain, as well as the notorious dream stalker Freddy Krueger. Additionally, the game offers 15 Klassic Mortal Kombat Skins and three Klassic Fatalities.

Deep Silver today announced that 4A Games will be supporting the critically acclaimed Metro: Last Light with a series of original single player content packs throughout the summer.

• The ‘Faction Pack’ and the ‘Chronicles Pack’ will  include new, original single player gameplay that expands on the Metro: Last Light universe and story.

• The ‘Tower Pack’ will present a unique solo challenge to Metro veterans.

• Meanwhile, the ‘Developer Pack’ will give creative players some interesting tools with which to explore the world of Metro…

Konami today announced that Metal Gear Rising Revengeance Ultimate Edition is available now on PlayStation Network (PSN) for the PlayStation 3.

This complete bundle features the full game and all downloadable content (DLC) packs, which includes Cyborg Ninja Armor Skin, Metal Gear Solid 4 Raiden Skin, Commando Armor Skin, White Armor Skin, Inferno Armor Skin, VR Missions and side stories, “Jetstream” and “Blade Wolf”.

The bundle gives fans hours of exhilarating gameplay that introduces a host of unique new challenges. The included DLC packs expand the player’s Metal Gear Rising Revengeance experience as they delve into various characters such as Samuel Rodrigues and LQ-84i, aka Blade Wolf, each including unique abilities, characteristics, storylines and origins.

Activision has released the video it used to show off its new Call of Duty engine during Microsoft’s Xbox One reveal event yesterday.

The tech comparison video below shows how in-game assets from this year’s new shooter compare to 2011′s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Call of Duty: Ghosts brings lifelike characters and immersive worlds together on a new, next-generation engine. Side-by-side graphical comparisons show the advances made from Infinity Ward’s last release, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

Microsoft announced during its Xbox One reveal event its timed-exclusivity deal with Activision, which will see Call of Duty DLC continue to arrive on Xbox before rival platforms.

Call of Duty: Ghosts releases globally on November 5, 2013.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today is releasing Batgirl as a DLC character for the DC Comics fighting game Injustice: Gods Among Us.

Batgirl will be available beginning today on Xbox LIVE Marketplace for 400 MS Microsoft Points.  The content will be available on PlayStation Network at a price of $10 USD beginning tomorrow.

With The Last of Us inching ever close to release Naughty Dog presented us with another opportunity to get hands on and once again it knocked our socks off.

The Last of Us tells a story of mankind’s bleak future, where the world is decimated by a modern plague. Cities have been abandoned and reclaimed by nature. Those who managed to survive routinely kill each other for food, weapons and whatever they can scavenge.

A frightening fungal virus has all but wiped out mankind, turning those infected into grotesque creatures hell-bent on finishing off the remaining survivors. The military have managed to secure quarantine zones in an effort to curb the spread of the disease but this has been largely ineffective. So those left are forced to fight each other for scraps whilst civilisation falls apart around them.

The game’s protagonists are Joel, a ruthless survivor, and Ellie, a teenage girl quickly growing wise beyond her years. The unlikely pair must work together to survive their journey across what remains of the United States. The childlike Ellie dutifully plays the innocent that you just want to protect whereas Joel has a dark past that begs to be revealed.

Naughty Dog has kept much of the gameplay a mystery — we knew that it was an end of the world type scenario, but until recently we had not seen exactly what players would be up against, other than gangs of roaming survivors.

The latest demo offers a walkthrough of two of the game’s playable areas — Lincoln and Pittsburgh. The first opens with a picturesque woodland area before moving into what can only resemble a ghost town. It’s easy to see the resemblance in the environments with Naughty Dogs blockbuster Drake titles but the extra effort in characterization and survival gameplay elements quickly set the games apart. Ellie shows her age with frequent comments that tend to annoy the gruff and serious Joel. She will talk about fire-flies or rabbits whilst Joel remains for the most part silent ever weary of the danger that lurks around a darkened corner. The Lincoln chapter introduced some of the puzzle elements such as lifting and moving long planks of wood to navigate rooftops as well as some of the crafting that you can do with items that you find.

The second location (Pittsburgh) starts off with Joel and Ellie in a car but ultimately ambushed by a bunch of thugs picking off survivors to loot their gear. This section was short, brutal and action packed, offering a glimpse of the contrast between the previous slower survival orientated areas to one of heart pumping fight for your life action. Ellie helps as best as she can but generally gets in the way or requires saving if she gets too close to a bad guy. The violence is intense and brutal much more so than any Drake game. There is little doubt that this game is aimed at an older audience.

Despite the end of the world scenario, Naughty Dog has created a hauntingly beautiful game environment with lush greenery and vegetation taking over a largely abandoned cityscape.

The Last of Us plays homage to the survival genre where you must collect all manner of items if you wish to survive to upgrade weapons and equipment (when you find a workbench) or create items such as shivs (homemade dagger), bandages and first aid kits wherever and whenever  you choose.  Your weapons will degrade when used time so will need to be carefully managed (especially melee weapons).

The hour long demo left me desperately hungry for more and I have little doubt that Naughty Dog are heading towards another game of the year. The environments are breathtaking and the gameplay blends the survival and heavy action genres with a pinch of horror thrown in for good measure. Captivating character interaction and dramatic cut scenes help craft a story that you just can’t let go.

The Last of Us is in stores June 14, exclusively for PlayStation 3.

Microsoft today unveiled Quantum Break, a new game in the works at Remedy Entertainment for Xbox One.

Quantum Break weaves the cinematic action of intense gameplay with the tension and drama of scripted television, creating a world where each has a direct impact on the other.

In Quantum Break, the desperate hero fights a highly personal battle to save the future before time literally runs out. As time breaks down, impossible, split second moments of destruction turn into epic stages of time powered action.  The actions you take, and the choices you make, shape your experience as the narrative unfolds. As you play, a personalized “director’s cut” of the show is created just for you, based on the decisions you make during the game.

No release date has been confirmed but Quantum Break is expected to be amongst the Xbox One’s launch titles.
