Fallout: New Vegas Coming Autumn 2010

Bethesda Softworks has announced that the next chapter in the Fallout franchise, Fallout: New Vegas, will launch this autumn.
First revealed at a London event in April 2009, the RPG is currently in development at Alpha Protocol and Star Wars Knights Of The Old Republic II studio Obsidian.

Wizards not renewing Star Wars license

Wizards has announced that they will not be renewing their licence with LucasArts for the Star Wars games and RPG.

There have been several questions lately regarding the future of the Star Wars Miniatures and Roleplaying Game and until now I haven’t had definitive answers to give you. After a lengthy evaluation, Wizards of the Coast has decided not to renew the Star Wars license with Lucasfilm. We’ve had a long and fantastic run, but with the economic downturn, we have made the tough decision to discontinue our Star Wars lines.

Dead Rising Live Action Movie Trailer

Capcom’s announced that a live action Dead Rising movie will be sold exclusively on Xbox Live later this year, but only in Japan:

The Dead Rising movie is real and is directed the creator of Dead Rising himself, Keiji Inafune. The basic story is this: the movie follows brothers Shin and Jouji who must escape an area of Japan that has been quarantined following the spread of the disease that turns everyone into zombies.
Since it’s set in Japan, Frank West will most likely not be appearing, but it’s a cool idea anyway.

Apple Unveils The iPad – A Huge, Expensive, iPod Touch

If you have not heard by now, then you live on Mars, most likely in a cave, probably with headphones on. Apple unveiled the iPad today. It is basically a huge iPod Touch with internet service for 30 bucks a month. The device is lacking a ton of features, like multitasking and SMS messaging. The price starts at around 550 for the non-3G internet version, and 650 for the 3G version (both 16gb). If you want to go bigger, you get to pay up to 1000. This device is classic apple, sleek, sexy, refined, and more of an accessory than a device we wanted. Let’s see if the Apple cult followers will be enough to keep this one afloat. The public, it seems, was not thrilled with the device, as Apple’s stock took a dip after it was announced.

Cataclysm to shake up WoW

World of Warcraft Cataclysm will make major changes to the whole game.

Blizzard production director J. Allen Brack says the forthcoming Cataclysm expansion will offer something for all players – shaking up everything including the original content from the MMO RPG.

"We look at game development as an iterative process, and we’re continually polishing World Of Warcraft and building on what we’ve done in the past," he told MCV. "Just to give you one example, Cataclysm gave us an opportunity to go back to the game’s original zones and update the dramatically.
"Cataclysm is also shaking up the game in other ways, with new features and races added, altered landscapes, new zones, new professions, new dungeons and new raids, to ensure the game offers all of our players something new and exciting."

Halo Wars And Dead Rising Are On Demand [Xbox Live]

Something old and something comparably new join the Xbox 360 Games on Demand lineup today, with Dead Rising and Halo Wars now available in convenient downloadable form.

If you have not played your fill of Dead Rising since its 2006 release, you can go ahead and it for $19.99 via Games on Demand.

Halo Wars, on the other hand, is a game I’ve had in my hand many times over the past few years, only to put it down before making it to the cash register. Perhaps I’ll find pushing a button much easier than handing over my credit card.

Or maybe I’ll just sit there at the purchase screen, hemming and hawing over spending $30 on a real-time strategy game based on a first-person shooter series I’m not particularly fond of, until I eventually B button my way out of the purchase. At least I can do it from the comfort of my couch now.

Klingon Warriors who wish to join this fleet may rendezvous near Qo’noS at 2pm PST (We’re GMT -8 right now)."

AC/DC Powers IRON MAN 2

When Tony Stark jumps out of an airplane in the cool new trailer for ‘Iron Man 2‘ he did it to the grind of AC/DC’s 1980 anthem "Shoot to Thrill."

Now, Marvel Studios and Columbia Records have announced plans to release the CD compilation AC/DC: IRON MAN 2 on April 19, 2010. It’ll hold 15 classic AC/DC tracks, some of which will be featured in the film. The play list includes "Shoot to Thrill", "Back in Black", "Thunderstruck", "Highway to Hell" and (appropriately enough) "War Machine".

Pre-orders begin today, January 26th at Walmart.com for the AC/DC: Iron Man 2 CD and at Amazon.com for a deluxe version of AC/DC: Iron Man 2 – CD+DVD and two LP vinyl packages.

The debut video from AC/DC: Iron Man 2 is the AC/DC’s classic album cut "Shoot To Thrill," which was filmed live last month in Buenos Aires during the band’s highly acclaimed Black Ice World Tour, the second highest grossing world tour of 2009 according to concert industry trade publication Pollstar. The video also incorporates exclusive footage from “IRON MAN 2” and debuts today worldwide. ‘Powers’ Pilot in the Works

John Landgraf, head honcho at the FX cable network, has confirmed that a pilot based on Brian Michael Bendis’ Powers comic book series is “in the works.” Landgraf also confirmed that Bendis was working with writer/producer Kevin Falls on the project. Falls has a great track record on the small screen having written and produced episodes of the highly regarded The West Wing and Sports Night. Falls also created the late, lamented Journeyman science fiction series for NBC, which deftly mixed overriding serial drama plotlines with engrossing weekly episode narratives.

‘Walking Dead’ Pilot Ordered

Following up on its acquisition of the rights last summer, AMC has ordered a pilot based on Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard’s The Walking Dead. Creator Kirkman expressed his satisfaction with the order. “Given AMC’s track record with shows like Madmen and Breaking Bad, combined with Frank Darabont writing and directing,” he said, “I couldn’t possibly be more excited for this to come together.”

Blizzard Adds Timestamps To WoW Armory

In a move that could cause serious privacy problems for players of World of Warcraft, Blizzard has added timestamps and an RSS feed to the game’s online armory site. This new feature will mean that anyone can follow ‘real-time’ developments in a World of Warcraft character, which display the exact time and date, so that others can see that person’s playing habits. Many players have already complained about the fact that there is no opt-out setting, and this opens very big possibilities for online stalking.
