Modern Warfare 2 Quick-Cap Review part 1 of 3

noreply@blogger.com (Kor Phaeron) — Wed, 11 Nov 2009 03:16:00 +0000

"Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is sold in four differing retail versions (Standard, Hardened, Veteran and Prestige edition). The most expensive Prestige edition offers the following extras over the standard version:

Fully functional, wearable night vision goggles
Premium steelbook case
Hardbound art book
Individually-numbered and engraved Captain "Soap" MacTavish collector's stand
Call of Duty Classic full downloadable game"

an excerpt from http://ezinearticles.com/?Why-the-Prestige-Edition-of-Call-of-Duty-Modern-Warfare-2-is-Worth-Buying&id=3202229

Now I have been doing research and have been watching various videos on Modern Warfare 2. Althought it Improves some problems and adds new elements of gameplay and strategy to Call of Duty, the solutions do not equal the problems. In otherwords, the problems that were in Call of Duty Modern Warfare (CoD4) have been fixed(most) but we have been given a worse outcome than was already there.

Modern Warfare 2 compared to CoD4

MW2

Peer to Peer (P2P)
New Gamemodes
New Weapons
Little class improvement
New Campaign (duh)
More levels
Prestige Bonuses
Night Vision Goggles[in prestige version]
No Dedicated Servers[PC]
No Mods[PC]
No Retextures[PC]
Match Making
$60[PC AND Console]*
REQUIRES THIRD PARTY SOFTWARE**

Call of Duty 4 (CoD4)

Dedicated Servers[PC]
Long Campaign
Diversity
Classes
55 Levels
10 Prestiges[Not for PC]
Mods[PC]
Retextures[PC]
Custom Maps[PC]
Free Downloadable Content[PC]
$40-$50[PC]*
NO THIRD PARTY SOFTWARE REQUIRED**

Now There are many more to list (this is my short review of Modern Warfare 2).
I will be digging deeper into the game and will be posting videos within the week.

*MW2's publishers did not need to impose a $10 increase in the price for the PC version of the game as they did not need to pay for any agreements/publishing fees with Microsoft/Sony (for anyone wondering why games were $60 for x360 and ps3). The PC version of the game basically got raped in the back of a van and obviously it was not soundproofed as we all see the greed in this move.

**Third Party Software(3rd prty) is Steam (by Valve). PC users cannot just play the game
alone(without the software) and must install Steam and create a Steam account. Steam accounts are okay but should not be required to play a game. This means that you MUST install Steam to play MW2 for PC(i will be showing a way around this).

Overall MW2 gets a 6.5/10 as I am still going through my reviewing process.

So it would seem much of the great game CoD4 was for PC has been removed and we are left with a console game. Console Review will be posted within the week

For those of you that use AVG or want a new Anti-Virus

noreply@blogger.com (Kor Phaeron) — Wed, 11 Nov 2009 01:51:00 +0000

Now I know many people are unsatisfied with Norton, Panda, Avast! and the other loads of Anti Virus programs that just eat up memory and processor use. Well my sources have recently given to me a universal AVG key. This key is for the full product and will last you until 2018. Yes. 2018.
