Brett Favre might not want to quit his day job — whatever that is these days.On Saturday, the three-time NFL MVP and former Southern Miss record-setting quarterback, made his broadcasting debut as the color analyst for the Southern Miss-Rice game and, according to reports, it was a little choppy.

Credit Favre, he notes his nervousness in the open as he tries to get through questions asked by broadcasting partner Mike Morgan, and he looks the part. There are some awkward pauses as he tries to think of what to say and some poor grammar - "... running the spread offense as much of the teams in this conference do."

Unfortunately, there's no video from the rest of the broadcast, but Rick Limpert, a fan who was watching the game, tweeted out some great Favreism gems, and for that, we thank him.

With only 25 days to perform until Rugby World Cup 2011 kicks off, things are heating up in New Zealand and members of the public can share in the provoke-th with a number of opportunities to get up close to the teams including airport arrivals, official welcomes and public training sessions.

Each team will then be officially welcome in a mixture of marae and civic ceremonies designed to give the teams a warm Kiwi welcome and for players to receive their official RWC 2011 caps, on their arrival in their first port of call in New Zealand.

The Position of Wenger has come under scrutiny after a difficult start to the new season at the Emirates.

The Frenchman's bid to gain campaign of Arsenal off to a good start has undermined by high-profile exits and a lack of prominent acquisitions.

Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Liverpool saw some fans calling for Wenger invest in more talent to add depth to the squad.

"There is no chance of me walking away," insisted Wenger.

Wenger is determined to ride out the storm with Arsenal facing crucials games against Udinese in the Champions League in midweek before travelling to Old Trafford to take on Premier League champions Manchester United next weekend.

"The chance I have is to give my best for the club but we are living in circumstances where every defeat is seen as a disgrace and an earthquake.
"We now have a massive match on Wednesday night against Udinese in Italy.

"As it is the qualifier for the Champions League group stage, it is of big importance.

Substitute Florent Malouda scored seven minutes from time to give Chelsea victory against West Brom at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues were poor in the first half and conceded early on when Shane Long capitalised on a mistake by Alex before slotting his shot past Hilario.

Forward Nicolas Anelka equalised after the break when his angled strike took a deflection off Jonas Olsson.

Malouda grabbed the winner when he converted Jose Bosingwa's cross.

West Brom had other chances to extend their lead after Long's goal, but Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas' tactical tinkering late in the first half appeared to mend the cracks that surfaced during those early stages.

Goals from Gabriel Agbonlahor, Emile Heskey and Darren Bent gave Aston Villa victory in manager Alex McLeish's first home game in charge at Villa Park.

Agbonlahor opened the scoring with his 50th Premier League goal, a fine curling strike.

Heskey made it 2-0 with his low shot from 20 yards out before Morten Gamst Pedersen pulled one back for Blackburn heading home Junior Hoilett's cross.

But Bent made the game safe beating keeper Paul Robinson from close range.

Liverpool struck twice late on to secure their first league win at Arsenal for 11 years and increase Arsene Wenger's troubles.

Arsenal - featuring Samir Nasri in the line-up with his proposed move to Manchester City on hold - held their own until impressive youngster Emmanuel Frimpong was sent off with 20 minutes left.

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish reacted by introducing Luis Suarez and Raul Meireles in what proved to be the decisive move, as the pair were involved in both goals.

Deans reveled the shock decision on Thursday to change Elsom as skipper with James Horwill when announcing his 30-man squad for the tournament in New Zealand.

A philosophical Elsom claimed, however, he would now knuckle down and focus on playing matters.

"I don't know if disappointed is the right term, but I think it is what it is and we've just got to get on with it.

At what point did he realize he didn't have his ID and couldn't get access to the White House? Did he figure it out on the bus or make it all the way to the gate before getting turned down? If so, did he plead his case to unsympathetic guards? Was the possibility of sneaking into the ceremony under the suit of 320-pound tackle Chad Clifton(notes) ever broached?

Rugby New Zealand 2011 (RNZ 2011) today sured who will sing at final match in Rugby World Cup 2011.The Tournament Organizer announced New Zealand performers Hayley Westenra and Will Martin will sing the anthems at the Final on October 23, and four other soloists will be sured to perform the anthems at the two semi-finals on October 15 and 16.

Rugby World Cup Limited Chairman Bernard Lapasset said: “The World in Union is the soundtrack to Rugby World Cup, an iconic song for the global Rugby family. I am sure that Hayley Westenra’s rendition of World in Union will be extremely popular.”

Rugby New Zealand 2011 CEO Martin Snedden said the anthems are a core tradition for Rugby, with the first ever performance of anthems at sporting events associated with the historic 1905 match between the All Blacks and Wales in Cardiff.

Hayley Westenra, who has become a regular performer at major Rugby internationals around the world, said it was a great honour to be invited to perform at the RWC 2011 Final.

“We think Kiwis and visitors will be blown away by the collaboration between the NZSO, the best local choristers, and international soloists such as Hayley Westenra and Will Martin.”

These recordings, which were made at Wellington’s Michael Fowler Centre in March 2011, were supported by the REAL New Zealand Festival Lottery Fund.

Slovakian conductor and composer Peter Breiner, an expert on anthems and their arrangements, arranged the music for all the anthems except the Irish and New Zealand anthems. The Irish arrangement was done by Steven Bremner and the New Zealand arrangement was by Anthony Ritchie. Peter Breiner shared the conductor role with Hamish McKeich.

An announcement of Tournament Organizer Rugby New Zealand 2011 has chosen to sing anthems at the semi-finals will be made shortly.

The Indian cricket board said about pace bowler Zaheer Khan will need at least 14-16 weeks to recover completely " because he is injure.So he cannot attend to the England Test series.

The cricket Board of The Indian also said " Zaheer Khan is suffering from a recurrent right hamstring strain and a right ankle impingement."

Zaheer sustained a hamstring injury in the first Test at Lord's after bowling just 13.3 overs, and missed the second match of the series.
"Zaheer Khan will require surgery for his ankle, followed by intensive rehabilitation for both the ankle and hamstring.
Therefore, he will not be able to participate in the ongoing Test series and subsequent T20 International and ODI series against England."

Baala & Mekhissi-Benabbad decide for World Championships

The French Federation have allowed Medhi Baala and Mahiedine Mekhissi-Benabbad to run in the Championships in Daegu, South Korea, which begin on 27 August.

They spectacularly came to blows last month at the end of the 1,500m at a Diamond League meeting in Monaco.

But the pair have been fined and handed 10-month bans from racing outside of France with five months suspended.

Benabbad lashed out at his senior team-mate when he came over to console him. Punches and slaps were exchanged, to the jeers and whistles of a large crowd at the Louis II stadium.

Baala, world silver medallist in 2003 and bronze medallist in the Beijing Olympics in 2008, clashed with Benabbad, the 3000m steeplechase Olympic silver medallist, after they finished ninth and 11th in the 1500m race in Monte Carlo on 22 July.

Officials had to separate the pair, who continued to exchange strong words as they moved off the track and were soon provisionally suspended by the French governing body.

In addition to their fine and suspended bans, the shamed pair will each have to pay 1,500 euro (£1,300) fines and serve 50 hours of community service.
