<p>Personally, I&#8217;ve gotten used to Blizzard delaying the Starcraft 2 beta as long as it doesn&#8217;t end up like Duke Nukem Forever.</p>

<p><span style="color:#78A4FE">Update : Since there are so many ways for this game Dragon Age crash. so before looking into the solutions below, try this solution posted by </span><span style="color:#E5D6CD">Odess81</span><br />
Just disable full screen play. It should boot no problem. After you&#8217;re in the game, you can manually reconfig the full screen mode</p>
<p><span style="font-weight:bold;color:#FF9900">Problem #1 : Dragon Age crashing to desktop on random intervals</span><br />
<span style="font-weight:bold;color:#00FF00">Solution</span> : If you are an ATI user (specially those who use Catalyst 9.9 drivers), downgrade your video card driver to Catalyst 9.7. There are issues with running Dragon Age on ATI Catalyst 9.9 and should be fixed with the next Catalyst update<br />

<p><span style="font-weight:bold;color:#FF9900">Problem #2: Dragon Age error message &#8220;Error: Could not connect to EA Core&#8221; </span><br />
<span style="font-weight:bold;color:#00FF00">Solution:</span> Open up the EA Download Manager and enter your serial number for the game there to activate it. I did that and it works fine now.<br />

<p><span style="font-weight:bold;color:#FF9900">Problem #3</span> Cannot register to Dragon Age Social site problem (Cannot download Dragon Age DLC, toolset)<br />
<span style="font-weight:bold;color:#00FF00">Solution</span> : Known issue with no available workaround yet. So far, we know that this is an issue with EA and not Bioware&#8230; greedy bastards at EA should burn in hell.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight:bold;color:#FF9900">Problem #4</span> Dragon Age error message &#8220;we could not activate Dragon Age on this computer&#8221; appears when trying to activate the game.<br />
<span style="font-weight:bold;color:#00FF00">Solution</span> : Click on the &#8220;Enter product key&#8221; button and type in your product key again. This is because EA has it&#8217;s own thing going with the activation process of Dragon Age and inputting the key on Steam/Direct2Drive is just for the sake of adding the game to your profile.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight:bold;color:#FF9900">Problem #5</span> Dragon Age &#8220;Unauthorized&#8221; message/label on downloaded content (Unable to play content error)<br />

1.Select the content on the Download Progress tab and click Download.<br />
2.If there is no Download button available, follow these steps:<br />

right click Torchlight in your games list and hit the &#8216;Properties&#8217; option. In the Properties dialog, click the &#8216;Set launch options&#8230;&#8217; button. In the dialog, type &#8216;SAFEMODE=1&#8242; Then launch the game normally and it should start up with a safe set of options. Once the game loads, you will be able to adjust your options, BUT You will need to remove the &#8216;SAFEMODE=1&#8242; parameter from Steam before running the game again or it will just reset your options again.</p>

<p>Before anything else, here&#8217;s Borderlands&#8217; system specs requirements:</p>

<p>OS: Windows XP/Vista<br />
Processor: 2.4 Ghz or equivalent processor<br />
Memory: 1GB System RAM (2GB recommended with Vista)<br />
Hard Drive: 8 GB free<br />
Video Memory: 256mb video ram or better (GeForce 8 series or higher/Radeon R8xx series)<br />
Sound Card: Windows compatible sound card<br />
DirectX: 9.0c<br />

<p><span style="color: #00ff00;"><strong>BORDERLANDS PC FIXES</strong></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #ff9900;"><strong>Problem #1 : Borderlands install error message &#8220;Installation ended prematurely because of an error.&#8221;</strong></span><br />
Solution : It seems that a lot of Windows 7 users are getting this error message. This error message is not related to Borderlands. First, try to remove all files in your temp directory to make sure that the Borderlands installation files are not retrieved from a corrupted cache. If you still get that error then it could be a Drive or MSI Installer related problem so try to reinstall your MSI drivers and if that doesny work you might wanna try a fix similar to the one specified here -&gt; http://support.microsoft.com/kb/230895 . And if you still get that error, post about it in the comment box below.</p>
<p><span style="color: #ff9900;"><strong>Problem #2 : Borderlands install error on Windows 7</strong></span></p>

<strong>WARNING: Even though this isn&#8217;t the main point of this thread, you will have to install a second time if you skip this step, and it will only waste you time not to do this step.</strong>2) When attempting to install, you will see this error: &#8220;Installation ended prematurely because of an error.&#8221;<br />
In order to install correctly, open up command prompt and run the following command.</p>

<p><strong>WARNING: Make sure to replace d:\ with the correct drive letter that the DVD is inserted into. Also, the above command will disable GUI installation, all you will see is a progress bar. After the files are copied to your hard drive, they will be located in Program Files/2K Games. The setup will then go on to activate your copy of Borderlands. After everything disappears and your computer returns to your desktop, you should be able to successfully start the game.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Troubleshooting: During installation I get an error about &#8220;d3dx9_##.dll&#8221;</strong><br />
Go back to #1 and update your DirectX.

<span style="color: #ff9900;"><strong>Problem #3 [IMPORTANT! ] Borderlands(PC) Nvidia Problem (crash, freeze or it may not run at all)</strong></span><br />
Note : Do not update to yur Nvidia drivers 191.xx yet. As of this posting, the 191.xx drivers released are unstable and rendered some systems unusable (<a href="http://www.evga.com/FORUMS/tm.asp?m=100961981">link</a>). If you need to update your video card to a later version, make sure that it&#8217;s earlier than the 191.xx. (Just in case i forget to remove this note after Nvidia fixes this issue,  check this post&#8217;s creation date &gt;&gt; date posted october 26, 2009) <credits to carbonyl></p>
<p><span style="color: #ff9900;"><strong>Problem #4 : Borderlands Cannot connect to multiplayer/online games. </strong></span><br />
Solution A: try to turn off your firewall/anti-virus<br />
Solution B:  you might need to open your ports. to know what ports to open for Borderlands (PC) check this link  -&gt; http://gbxforums.gearboxsoftware.com/showthread.php?t=77897 | borderlands portforwarding.</p>
<p><span style="color: #ff9900;"><strong>Problem #5 : Borderlands ATI 4xxx series problem : You play normally for around 20 minutes or so, before the game suddenly freeze, screen goes black, and a message box from the CCC pops ups telling you that VPU Recover has reset your driver due to it having stopped responding. &lt;as posted by Airship&gt;</strong></span><br />
Solution :<br />
Hello, same problem here with a 4870 running on windows 7 64 bit with latest release of catalyst drivers, 9.10. This is a known issue with a lot of games on their first release. Anyway my advice for you is to update your graphic drivers, maybe you can solve the problem this way. If it doesn&#8217;t i suppose we have to wait a solution from game developers or ATI&#8217;s new driver release.&lt;as posted by renneirob&gt;</p>
<p><span style="color: #ff9900;"><strong>Problem #6 : Borderlands (PC) problem where USB gamepads / controllers are not recognized or the mapping of buttons is different/wrong/awkward.</strong></span><br />

<p><span style="color: #ff9900;"><strong>Problem #7 : Borderlands (PC) Stuttering sound problem</strong></span><br />
Solution : Reduce or turn off Directsound acceleration</p>
<p><span style="color: #ff9900;"><strong>Problem #8 : Borderlands (PC) Crashing to desktop / Black Screen Problem</strong></span><br />
Solution #1 : Make sure you are using the latest stable version of your Video card drivers.<br />
Solution #2 : If you Borderlands still keeps on crashing, post your system specs and the OS you are using to run Borderlands on the comment box below plus a description of how the error occurs (does it occur in a specific area or when you do something in-game, etc)</p>
