Drainpip got on the side of the mighty Terran empire and yours truly ended up playing the Zerg. And the match begins! Drainpip is beginning to figure out what the heck is going on. How does he build something? He begins the peaceful process of ''exploration''. A gently, discovery of what makes Starcraft 2 tick. Drainpip is busily constructing bunker units and and marines with which to fill them and, unaware of GamingShogun''s bullying ways and does not see what his cohort is up to. GamingShogun is not so peacefully building an army of slimy zerglings and gathering crystals with which to further his creepy war machine. Both competitors are constructing at an amazing rate, rivalling even the best Korean pro-gamer of the original game. Passers by cannot believe the speed at which both alpha males move. The men want to be them, and the women want to be with them... Not really.Anyhow, Drainpip has sent out a scout team to find out what the map looks like while GamingShogun has launched his first assault wave. Drainpip has seen the enemy and felt the betrayal of his companion. A single tear streams down his cheek as he eyes the oncoming brood. Though it seems as though GamingShogun has underestimated Drainpip''s defensive capabilities and his zerglings are easily slaughtered. While Drainpip was innocently toying with the game, figuring out what it is capable of, GamingShogun has concocted an invasion of epic proportions. It was like feeding a bunny rabbit to a zergling. GamingShogun blindly stumbles on to the power of the Ultralisk. All he needs to do his build one last structure. Drainpip has plans of his own, however, and launches a force of jump-jetting Marauders in a desparate surprise attack. They come in from the North, over some destructible boulders that neither player knows are destructible, and begin laying down fire. Instinctively, GamingShogun sends his growing army of zerglings towards his attacker and repels them, suffering moderate losses. Finally, with his ultralisks ready, GamingShogun launches a final assault, which devastatingly destroys much of Drainpip''s infrastructure. As his forces lie dying, his buildings smoldering, he stands up and does the only thing left to do: proceeds to punch GamingShogun in the nose. ''Now who''s losing, biatch!'', Drainpip yells, drawing the attention of Blizzard employees everywhere. GamingShogun....Alright, I can''t do this anymore. None of what you just read actually happened. I mean, some of it did: the stuff about the playing of Starcraft 2. However, the stuff about the punching was just in Drainpip''s imagination. A fantasy, which he may never get the chance to play out.<div class="feedflare">

We have had quite a morning thus far and we wanted to share a bit of it with you. We arrived at 8am to register at the press desk, met up with some friends that we know in ''the company'', then proceeded to wait in line until 10am. Once inside, we saw the lovely Felicia Day at Diablo 3 and decided to check the game out ourselves. We will bring you our impressions later. Additionally, we got to play a mean tournament of Starcraft 2! More to come! There is one thing we saw this morning while waiting to get in. A display of stupidity unlike any I have ever seen. One geeky guy decided to run backwards up the down escalator in an effort to impress the masses. This went on for a good ten minutes of people looking strangely at him, and concluded when the entire escalator broke down.Yes, broke down. As in, no longer in service for the rest of the day! Thanks man, we love walking down stairs all day as we go in and out of the press room! Here is the perp, note the ''snazzy'' attire:And here is the result:After the break, check out the first in our collection of images from around BlizzCon!<div class="feedflare">

All is not doom and gloom for Halo fans, however, as there is nothing in Jarrard''s statements that say Bungie wont work on a new story in the Halo universe. From the Interview:Bungie is currently working on three separate projects, of which only the Halo title is so far known to the public, but according to community and PR director Brian Jarrard that team currently working on Recon won''t continue to work on Halo projects in that series once the game ships.''I don''t think so,'' he said during an interview in Tokyo. ''We''ve already put a couple of map packs out, we do have more maps on the way. We actually have a Mythic map pack coming out early next year. We don''t have firm details or a date yet, but we do have one more map pack coming out, and then we do have some maps associated with the actual Recon retail release.Via GamesIndustry<div class="feedflare">

Ethernauts is set to launch October 9th.Q) We wanted to start by asking if the LoN team is the same one behind the upcoming Star Wars - Champions of the Force TCG: Do you pull double-duty or are they a separate entity?A) Both games are developed by Sony Online Entertainment''s Denver studio. There is a lot of overlap in the design, engineering, and production teams on the two games. Because they use a similar game system, the familiarity is a big advantage when working on the two projects. On the design side there is a bit less overlap as some of the team tends to be more Legends of Norrath specific, and some of the team focuses more on Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card Game.Q) It has been said that Ethernauts begins a new storyline in the Legends of Norrath saga. What can you tell us about it?A) The upcoming EverQuest II expansion, The Shadow Odyssey, will have players retrace the steps of ancient legendary heroes who are only spoken of as rumors and myth. The Legends of Norrath storyline for this year (Sets 5, 6, and 7) tells the story of what actually happened with those characters. These characters are called The Ethernauts, and we’ve had a lot of fun providing players a first look. In a lot of ways, this block of new LoN sets starts as a prequel to the EQII expansion, and by the end of the block it will evolve into an epilogue.Q) Could you briefly tell us about the challenges in creating Ethernauts?A) Ethernauts is the first set in our second year for Legends of Norrath, and as such, we’ve treated it as an opportunity to take a step back from the game and look at the things that we like and the things that we wanted to improve.A good example of a gameplay balance that we’ve re-evaluated is that of questing vs. avatar combat vs. unit combat as paths to victory. There is a very delicate balance required to make each of these a fun part of the game without overwhelming one of the others. That involved rebalancing a handful of cards from previous sets as well as updating our philosophies on how we will create cards going forward.Q) How many expansion packs can we expect in this new storyline?A) Going forward, there will generally be three sets in each storyline block. Those blocks encompass gameplay themes as well as story material.Q) Obviously, this expansion will bring players some new loot cards and, as we all know, players love loot. Could you let us in on some of the loot to be found in Ethernauts?A) EQ has some very cool new Nimbus loot cards, including Nimbus of Discordant Chains that has spiked chains swirl about you. They also have new Sokokar mounts that look like dragons and a very cool earring called Kurn’s Blood Drop Earring that has stats for your EQ character.EQII has one of the coolest loot cards we’ve seen – the Bot Made Iced Cream Cart. Two unicorn mounts will also be very popular and you can even get a 5 bedroom home for your character! All of the EQ and EQII loot cards available in booster packs have been revealed on the Legends of Norrath website. Additional loot cards will become available through special events.Q) Please tell us about Ethernauts'' new gameplay mechanics.A) There is a mechanic that takes a much closer look at an avatar’s faction level, which indicates the characters tendency towards light or shadow. Once a player earns their way to being fully light or shadow, abilities open up that let the player treat faction as a consumable resource. Once it is spent though, the player has to earn their way back to full faction before they can use it again.Another mechanic that will be rolled out over the coming months is a new keyword: Fabled. Fabled cards play normally in PvP, but if you have one or more of these cards in your deck when you start a 4v1 raid, you are allowed to choose one to start with in play. The Fabled cards will be available as rewards for completing a raid.Q) It has been said that Ethernauts will also introduce a new starter pack product. Could you tell us a bit of what about this new starter pack: what it includes, etc?A) The Legendary Starter Deck gives players the gameplay of four different starters in one package. It replaces the four starters that we’ve done for each of the previous sets, and it is the only starter we’re planning to release for the whole year.It will be a great way to get that first taste of the Ethernauts story, as avatar cards for four of the characters are included in the product. It also includes quite a few cards that support the story of the journey of the Ethernauts that can only be found in the Legendary Starter.Q) And lastly, is there anything else you would like our readers to know?A) We’re really excited about Ethernauts, as it sets a new standard for artwork and gameplay in Legends of Norrath. We’re thrilled about how well things have gone integrating our efforts with EverQuest II to give players a fun storyline to follow. We’ve bumped up the rewards for EQ and EQII players as well, as the scenarios for Ethernauts include a series of five loot card rewards for each of the MMOs.We would like to thank Tom Lischke, Shannon Drake, and all the rest of the gang at Sony Online Entertainment for fielding our questions.Have a look after the the break for an exclusive loot card image!<div class="feedflare">

The original award winning Razer Lycosa will still be sold at all major electronics retailers while the Razer Lycosa Mirror Edition will be available in December 2008.The Razer Arctosa is designed to cater to the minimalist gamer looking for the bare essentials in a gaming keyboard. The Razer Arctosa is a basic version of the Razer Lycosa without the backlight but enhanced with fully macro-programmable and media access keys. The Razer Arctosa comes available in the standard silver-printed key letters but also comes with a black on black edition for gamers who have achieved the art of gaming without looking at their keys. The Razer Arctosa silver on black edition and the Razer Arctosa black on black edition will retail in November 2008 at global stores and online.<div class="feedflare">
