Hello again!

Sorry about the long delay between posts; the past several Monday nights have yielded very few gems. You could call it a dry spell, though that would be ironic, as the situation was worsened by the heavy rain we've been seeing recently.

Anyway, tonight is an important garbage night. With the completion of the University exam season, many students seem to be moving out, and leaving behind piles of treasures in the process. The end of April is essentially the Christmas of garbagems. Please enjoy the selection of notable items I've posted below.

As I may have already mentioned, many of these gems seem to have been left behind by students (in case that wasn't evident from the foosball table and the dying plant). The only noticeable defect with the foosball table is the lack of legs, but it seems like an awful waste to throw away all the working components. I'm sure it could easily be propped up (eg: on top of another table), or it could be used for some other application (such as a very avant-garde coffee table).

Behind the pile of recycling bins, you may notice an interesting piece of art. It seems to have been painted in an abstract style, though I feel like there's a cat in there.

Can you honestly tell me that you've seen a cooler broom than this? I sure can't.

Just next to the pile of trash pictured above, I spotted this charming old patio set. It looks so natural against the brick wall that this was one of those instances where I wasn't entirely sure if it was actually intended to be garbage. I would almost expect to see the entrance of a fancy coffee shop or cupcakery just around the corner.

In contrast, there was nothing ambiguous about this one; clearly this coffee machine and giant pile of trashbags are FREE.

If you ask me, this is an extraordinarily charming wooden chair.

You can ignore the rest of the crap (especially the advertisement on the moving van in the back, which I've taken the liberty of censoring).

With all the gems sitting in this driveway, it almost looks like a garage sale. In fact, it would legitimately look like one if you were to photoshop out the garbage bags (and maybe change the sky to daytime). Unfortunately this was beyond the scope of my photoshop abilities (which are essentially limited to making elaborate borders).

This was another rich pile of gems. If you take a close look, you'll notice a pile of fancy plates, a classic board game, a stool (which I think was once a chair), and many other somewhat appealing items. I was just about to move on when I decided to have a closer look at the small green book behind the stool; I'm glad I did, because I picked up a very useful piece of information inside:

Who knew you could make an entire outfit just by slightly altering a single sweatshirt? Well apparently some Japanese author did.

Now I'll just need to work on finding a sweatshirt as big as my body...
