I haven’t used this software on my G1 since it first came out. At that time, it crashed on me a lot and I ended up uninstalling it in pretty short order.

I’ve had some trouble with Postbot force closing on me since rooting and going to JF1.51, so I thought I’d give WPtoGo a shot again.

What I like about this app is, it let’s me add tags as well as select my categories, plus easily format boldface, italics, hyperlinks and…

Blockquotes. See? Pretty nifty!

Oh, and I can add pictures, too, of course.

First fruits of our 2009 garden

I plucked the first cherry tomatoes today! Sun Cherry is this variety and I’d had it in my head that they were a red variety; they’re decidedly orange, however, a warm orange. They could be any color for all I care, for they’re incredibly sweet, especially popped off the vine and directly into your mouth.

I finished tying up the burgeoning vines today. The DIY self-watering container gardens (SWCG’s) each sport four plants and the plants are all lush and covered with fruit.

Because I’d neglected pruning and tying them for a few weeks, a couple vines bant and split. These are on the Brandywine and Cherokee Purple plants and each has a lot of fruit! Even so, there’s enough connective plant tissue there, I hope I can salvage them if I bind the split parts together so they’ll graft.

I moved the two SWCG’s containing the bell and jalapeno peppers, basil and patio tomatoes to the side of our house. The tomatoes in the first two containers were getting so tall, they were beginning to shade those boxes. It was already sunny there by 11:00am and I’m pretty sure that spot will get sun all afternoon.

If not, I’ll just drag ‘em back or to another sunny spot. This is another reason to grow your veggies in SWCG’s!

Back on the patio, lounging and chewin’ sticks. Emma’s become very tolerant of Stella. I think she missed playing with her when she was so sick.

Saturday morning with Stella

Stella ate again this morning, yay! We tried a new approach and see that Stella likes canned dog food. A lot. Then again, what dog doesn’t?

She ate kibble mixed with canned food, and since the food was also soaked in broth, she got more liquids. We’re still more concerned with the hydration than the food, though food’s important for energy.

She’s still stuffed up. From watching her and listening as she breathes, I’ve observed she can breathe in okay, but has to push to exhale. Her gums are pink, though, so she’s getting enough oxygen. She still coughs and sometimes coughs stuff up.

She tried to play a little, but only got as far as amassing a stockpile of toys before sleep won out. That’s okay, she needs to sleep. She’s lying in between me and the arm of the recliner right now.

Stella puppy ate tonight! All the forcing water into today must have helped perk her up. I am so relieved to see her finally drink and eat! She gobbled down kibble mixed with chicken broth, so I got her more food. Then she just wanted to lap up the broth. Hey, I’ll take her drinking more over eating more.

She even wagged her tail at the kitties and followed them a little. Her tummy’s full and she’s sleeping. She sounds better tonight, too. I hope and pray this is a turning point for her.

Stella update for Friday morning

She is still listless this morning and has a lot of mucous in her head and chest. Her breaths are short. She wouldn’t eat or drink when Howie put her bowls by her, but when I put her in bed with me and hand-fed her she ate a little moistened kibble and then ate a little on her own. She won’t drink, so I’ve been giving her little sips of water using a turkey baster. She’s not coughing today, which concerns me a lot. She’s not out of the woods yet. I hope I can keep her hydrated today at least. I’m hoping someone at work will take my hours, because I don’t know what else to do. I’m to be there 11-4:30 today.

UPDATE: My coworker Jonathan is covering my shift, or some combination of coworkers is. I am so very thankful that I have such a good group of coworkers and a good boss. They really are good people!

Stella is still sick

Even though Stella seemed to be better this morning and gobbled down her food, by late this afternoon she wouldn’t eat her dinner. Howie took her to the vet again and this time her fever was 104.

The vet gave her more sub Q fluids and a vitamin shot. She told Howie they give the antibiotics four to five days to start working and if she’s not improved by then, they’ll change her to something else.

In the meantime, our poor pup is listless and having terouble breathing. She threw up again this evening and is coughing and gagging up gunk. The latter we want her to do, as it gets it out of her lungs.

Do any of you have experience with canine pneumonia or other respiratory infections? Is there anything else we can do other than the percussion therapy to loosen the mucous in her lungs and get her to cough?

We feel so helpless.

Real bananas and natural banana flavor? Wow, evidently the two are mutually exclusive. I just love product marketing and packaging meets the legal department.

Pneumonia?

Poor little thing has had a snotty nose all afternoon and has become lethargic. I took her to the vet after she threw up. She has a temp of 102.2 and shallow breaths. The vet said her lungs are raspy.

She gave her sub-Q fluids, IV antibiotic and an immunity stimulant (?). If her appetite’s still off tomorrow, I’m to bring her back in. Say a prayer for our sick little pup? Two days ago she was fine! =(

UPDATE 10:00pm - She’s doing better! She ate the food Howie brought her and then gobbled down more. We put water on the girls’ kibble, so she just had a good bit of water, too. Oh, what a relief….She’s perking up some!

Her breathing is still rapid, but her eyes don’t look dull and sick and she isn’t drooling anymore, so her tummy must feel better. Thank God. =)
