The working replica of Cooks’ Ship Endeavour was here which a treat to see. At Chillagoe the sign on the edge of town tells you its 590km to the next fuel stop. We had a king brown snake slither past a couple of metres away. Georgie had a massive Huntsman spider crawl across her hand at night as we sat round the fire. Huntsmen are harmless to us but the king brown kills you in eight minutes so we’ve had to keep an eye on the kids. We love it here. You stay in a camp ground, normally hooked up to power, ok. Then you walk out of the van in the evening and the rainforest is teeming. I was reading for an hour tonight before I noticed a huge green tree frog sitting on the chair next to Georgie. saw flying foxes with the kids by torchlight two nights ago. We’ve seen humming birds, spiders, frogs, snakes. Awesome. My mother would go bonkers.
