When I needed to replace an old monochromatic gps that was wearing out, I spoke with the gps expert at one of the big outdoor equipment companies (based in WA state). This unit is the one they use for their gps 101 and gps 102 classes – that spoke volumes to me.
I have used the Garmin 60csx primarily when hiking and for geocaching… Any challenges I have had with its accuracy were related to tree-cover, and/or nearby powerlines. I did learn that it is important to recalibrate the compass whenever you change the batteries (I’m pretty sure that is true for any gps). I have had and used a variety of gps units over the years and this one is by far my favorite… I had one of these and when some knuckle-head stole it, it was a no-brainer for me to save up my shuckles and buy the same model to replace the stolen one.
You can spend more money and get more technology, but I don’t think you can get a better gps.

I bought this  Garmin nuvi 2460LMT as an upgrade for my nuvi 250W. All I can say is WOW. Let me start with the Lane Assist.

In the upper left corner you will be treated to a small display alerting you to what lanes are available, the direction they turn, and which ones you should be in. No more guessing which lane is considered “keep right” when multiple right lanes are available. I’m not sure how I lived without this feature. There is also an additional Junction View I’ve yet to see pop-up, but so far I love being able to see the lanes for the current road I am on.

In the lower right corner, the Garmin nuvi 2460LMT will display your current speed (which even my 250W did), and it also displays the speed limit for the road you are currently on! How many times have you turned onto a road, but strategic placement of the speed limit signs prevented you from knowing the speed limit until it was too late? Speaking of which, if you go over the speed limit, your current speed will turn red indicating flashing lights in your rear-view mirror may be imminent. I haven’t had much experience with this feature, but I assume the speed limit for every road is not available. However, it seems to work with all the major roads thus far.

The voice command is the biggest reason I decided to upgrade from my 250W. So far I’m quite impressed with it. I am able to completely control the GPS unit with my voice. This includes inputting an address, finding the nearest Taco Bell, or stopping the directions mid-route and finding the nearest McDonalds instead. The voice command works very well, and I rarely need to repeat my commands. As the other reviewers have noted, the ambient noise level in the car will affect the 2460’s abilities to understand your voice commands. So please turn down the latest Britney Spears album when issuing voice commands.

This is the third GPS I have bought in about four years. It is by far the best. My last one was a Magellan RoadMate 1470 4.7-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator. It finally croaked! It had been threatening for some time. Peace be with it! Before that, I had a Garmin nüvi 660 4.3-Inch Bluetooth Portable GPS Naviagtor (Refurbished). Mine was new, not refurbished, but you cannot get there on Amazon anymore. That one went brain dead!

I first was looking at the Garmin nüvi 3790LMT 4.3-Inch Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator with Lifetime Map & Traffic Updates. It had a hefty price tag and I was waiting to see if the price would drop. Then I heard about the Garmin nüvi 2360LMT. It had not yet been released, so I waited. I liked what I read about it. It’s was also much cheaper than the 3790 and seemed to have the same features, although not as thin. I also heard about the TomTom GO 2505TM 5-Inch Portable Bluetooth GPS Navigator with Lifetime Traffic & Maps and the TomTom TomTom GO 2405TM 4.3-Inch Portable Bluetooth GPS Navigator with Lifetime Traffic & Maps. It came down to deciding between the Garmin nuvi 2360LMT & the TomTom GO 2405TM. I must admit that the Amazon.com reviews were the most helpful resource available to me in this process of elimination.

Obviously, I bought the Garmin nuvi 2360LMT. So far, I am very glad that I did.

The Voice Commands are great. I am fascinated with how this works and how accurate it has been so far. I also love the nüRoute Technology with trafficTrends and myTrends features. It began to learn some of my routes on the second trip it made. It also likes my choices of short-cuts and prefers them as I do.

This is the 3rd Garmin I’ve owned. I just keep getting new ones every 3-4 years instead of paying for a map update. I live in a small town in Oklahoma and just got back from a trip to Los Angeles, CA. This Garmin Nuvi 1350LMT helped me get around without any problems whatsoever. It never missed a beat and the lane assist makes traveling their interstates much easier. For the money- who can beat lifetime traffic and maps for this price? The updating maps was a challenge. It would hang up and exit when connected to my desktop. After attempting this several times with the same results, I switched over to my laptop and got it done in one shot. Hope I don’t have to keep doing this in the future. As one review said, I was surprised by the popup ads, but it’s no big deal to me- they go away after a few seconds. All in all I really like this new Garmin. It has the features I want, is very dependable, and the price is great.
