It’s not too often that I find a newly released products that excite me and make me want to get started right away. It’s unfortunate that the newer products being released by “marketing experts” tends to duplicate what older and more established marketing experts have released in the past. Quite honestly, this gets really discouraging to see. The good news is that my  discouragement seemed to disappear quickly after a guy named Ed Walters asked me if I wanted to learn how to make money online by becoming a virtual property tycoon.

Early this morning, Ed Walters from Virtual Property Tycoon contacted me and did what many other marketers do. He pitched his product to me. What Ed presented to me was much different than what other marketers have presented to me in the past. And you know me, I’ll listen to anyone’s sales pitch once. If I don’t like what I see, then I don’t move forward. Needless to say, I liked what Ed presented to me.

For years it’s been obvious to everyone, and even for people just starting out, that selling web sites, or virtual real estate, is a super big business. The problem most have is that it takes a lot of marketing knowledge, cash, and technical skills to thrust forward in this business.

Of course it’s out with the old and in with the new. And all this was before before Ed Walters blew the lid off his secret strategy for turning free information into cold hard cash practically instantly. Ed doesn’t spend a penny on anything. Instead, he “flips” information anyone can get online into cash. If you know me, then you know that I am all about creating virtual currency. That’s kind of my specialty.

So how does he do it? Well I’m not going to give out Ed’s secrets. But I can say that his methods of madness are very similar to mine. Today I received an email from PepperjamNetwork requesting all participating members of the eBay affiliate program, including myself, to immediately remove all eBay affiliate links and banners. I am not sure what transpired in the discussions between PepperjamNetwork and eBay, but in my opinion, losing a partnership with eBay is something I would consider a huge loss. I have been wanting to do this for a long time and finally I got around to doing this. It’s a good thing too, because now I can make more money online with my blog while not disturbing you my lesser interested readers, sometimes referenced to as my ad blind readers, or “Regular Readers” hehe. You might have noticed that I started posting Google SideWiki comments direct on the blog. You might already know that Google added the “send comments to Blogger” feature; however, for me that’s a problem because I don’t want to send my comments to Blogger. I want to publish them here on GarryConn.com.

Reason being is simple: I want what I call, “Indexable Ownership” of my content so that I can earn revenue from displaying contextual ads on the content I wrote. Indexable Ownership simply means that I am porting my content into a medium that is crawlable and indexable by search engines, which will soon receive free organic traffic from search result pages.

As mentioned in my previous post, I am back in the game, and today, I decided to create and share a quick video with you. I am about to start rebuilding my portfolio with a new generation of websites and today I cracked open Google AdWords Keyword Tool for the first time in months. I have to say it felt great snooping around for keywords to target.

That said, here is a quick video I uploaded to YouTube that gives you a nice overview of how I use the information found in the AdWords tool and what I do with it. Often people have wondered how I come up with such crazy keywords to target. All I can say is the simply think of anything on your mind and plug it into the tool. You’d be surprised with the data you get returned.

That said, I want to know how can I help you? What questions can I help answer about keyword research, Google AdWords Keyword Tool, and choosing domain names? This is your time to ask questions because later when its your time to build, doing things RIGHT the first time is important.

Here is an idea that I believe can work for you. The idea is to make money online selling affiliate products by promoting them in the classified ads section of your local newspaper. Do you want to talk about traffic? People tend to think that Google and other search engines are the hot spots. While this is true, there are quite a few other hot spots as well and some even have a lot less competition. One of these hot spots that come to my mind is the classified ads section of your local newspaper. Here is how I would suggest running some affiliate marketing campaigns in your local newspaper.

First off, let’s identify the costs involved. The cost to advertise in newspapers will vary from city to city. For instance though, the cost to advertise in my local town’s newspaper is only a few dollars for one week. Additionally, there a is a very popular trader magazine that allows people to advertise for free as long as the product being sold is less than $250 dollars. As you know, most affiliate products fall well below that price. All in all, no matter where you live, the cost to advertise in your local newspaper is going to be very low.

With that said, let’s talk about a domain name and cheap web hosting. I would suggest purchasing a domain name for this project. The domain name would need to be something very short and easy to remember. Keep in mind, when people read the newspaper, they will physically have to type the web address into their browser to load the page. If you create a classified advertisement in your newspaper and include an affiliate link, the URL is going to be too long and hard to remember. I would suggest ordering a domain name such as: ReviewsbyDavid.com or JansProductReviews.com.

Having an easy to remember domain will make your ads look more appealing and also easier for people to type the address into the browser. Also, this enables you to promote multiple products using the same domain name. I would suggest installing a blog that way when people visit the link they can also see some of the other reviews you have written in the past.

When you create the advertisement in your local newspaper, I would suggest using a simple permalink structure. Let’s assume that you are advertising a quit smoking product. Your URL would then need to look something like this: JansProductReviews.com/quitsmoking or ReviewsbyDavid.com/stopsmoking. By doing this, people who are interested in buying the product can easily remember the web site address.

Once again, I would suggest putting all these products into a review form using a blog. The blog would have a sidebar that displays your previously published posts. That way you can effectively give your previously written post double exposure. When people come to your page that gives information about the quit smoking product they will also see all the other products being sold on your site.
