bbPress as a WordPress Plugin

There have been developments in the bbPress Trac in recent days, the plugin branch is now there (but of course not ready for use). JJJ and PeteMall have been working on it. And what more, I received my first props for the plugin . You can check my progress on bbPress plugin here (no guarantee if it would be up forever).

Another thing is that now I would be rarely updating/adding plugins for standalone version (v1.1 or below) as it would be waste of time, instead I would spend my time on improving the bbPress plugin (v1.2 and above).

There are also some heated discussions going on in the bbPress forums about having another name for the plugin or having its version number as 2.0.

Blogging @ Speed of Light!

You might have noticed that I have changed my blog theme’s to P2, which is simple and clean. Though I really liked all those fancy features of Mystique theme, but I thought that blog was getting cluttered and the content wasn’t getting more attention. I have also removed ads (also the in-text ads) from the content area – now they are only in header, sidebar and footer. I’m currently trying to add a menu bar in this theme..

Scr.im Email Saver Plugin for WordPress v0.1 Released!

Recently, I had released Scrim Email Saver Plugin for bbPress and Stef asked me if a WordPress version existed for the same. Today, I am releasing Scrim Email Saver Plugin for WordPress which filters your blog’s comments for Email IDs and converts them into Scr.im links so that your users’ Email IDs do not get picked up by bots and they receive less (if not zero) spam. bbPress Back on Track?

Looks like there are some developments taking place in the bbPress community – some major ones! bbPress.org has now been re-designed, there have been commits by lead developers such as mdawaffe and matt, _ck_ has come back and her website bbShowcase would be soon up (as written there). bbPress.org website is still broken at some places (especially the plugin section), but would be fixed in the coming hours/days. Scrim Email Saver Plugin v0.1 for bbPress!

I have just released a new plugin named Scrim Email Saver v0.1 for bbPress! The plugin basically filters your bbPress forum’s posts for email IDs posted by your users and converts them into scrim links so that they are not picked up by bots and your users receive less spam (if not none).
