Husband gets transferred

My husband was just transferred to Texas. I am so sick of getting transferred all the time. It seems like as soon as I get settled and start to make friends, we are packing and moving away. It is exhausting. This move was even harder. I have never lived in Texas, so I had to start from scratch. Thankfully, my husband’s company found us a place to live. That is my least favorite part because I get too attached. If I look at a lot of houses, then I really like a house only to move again. I would much rather the company takes care of that. Nonetheless, I still had to figure out all the minor stuff. I had to have the cable installed and ShopElectricityRatesTexas. All the small things add up quickly. Before you know it, your entire month is taken over by small things. What is even worse is that most of the time as soon as the small things are finished, we are moving again. I will just be glad when he retires. At least then we will be able to stay in one spot.

Being a business owner is tough in this economy no matter what you’re selling but since I got into the custom jewelry business a few years back things have been really tough.

Everything’s so expensive and that’s just the way it is – it’s all custom – but it’s not like people have a ton of disposable income nowadays like they used to to spend on great jewelry. I’ve been working on the back end of the business when it’s been slow like getting my merchant services in order and really dealing with the logistics of paying the bills over the next year. One big sale could really turn my year around but right now I’m just hoping things pick up for the holiday shopping season, otherwise I’m not sure where I’ll be. This past Halloween my wife dressed up as a nurse and we had to buy medical scrubs.

When we went shopping for scrubs I was surprised with many of the prints I saw, and the variety of scrubs that there are out in the world... it made me want to be a real nurse just to wear the scrubs! This got me to thinking about nurses, doctors, surgeons, x-ray techs, lab assistants and medical interns who wear scrubs all the time as part of their job requirements. Buying scrubs, lab coats, stethoscopes and other medical uniform accessories is probably not a reason to begin a nursing career but if you are already in the field then buying scrubs can be a serious experience.

The color of your scrubs is important and the quality of material can vary, so finding the right scrubs for you may take some time. Most nurses that I know are loyal to one scrubs shop and buy holiday scrubs or other custom scrubs along with their basic colors. Choosing the right scrubs is the perfect way for nurses and other medical personnel to express their individual personalities, and is also a great way for lesbian nurses to show their rainbow pride.

Looking for work online has been especially hard this year, and after the passing of Steve Jobs it's hard to predict what the future of the internet will look like.

Over the past few decades society has come to a point where we can look for work from our laptops and iPhones. The way we find work online in 2011 is to isolate key words and phrases used in the industry we'd like to work in and then Google them from wherever we happen to be at the moment. You may be in Canada, The UK, or Australia and the system for finding work online is going to be the same - go to Google and search for the words "jobs", "employment", "career" along with the key words you chose.

When you find a great employment website or a blog with a job posting you are interested in, following up would be the next logical step although there is something you need to take care of first. Be sure that your online profiles and any websites you appear on are appropriate to be viewed by potential employers before you submit any resumes. The way you can check is to go to Google and search for your name just like an employer would.

When you feel confident with your online identity and have a few options for employment in front of you, get on your laptop or other computer connection and send your resume out to all potential employers as soon as possible; and keep doing so on a consistent basis until you are hired.
