GAY LIFE IN ISTANBUL

This website is designed by a Turkish gay guy in order to give information about the gay atmosphere and the gay places in the city.

I tried to keep the design very simple when you click on the links you will see a list of the places, below the name of the city you can find the address and the map. You can click on the maps if you want to see it bigger and under the map you can find my comments about the places. After you visit any of those places it will be highly appreciated if you come back the website and put your comments below the pages this will be helpful both for improving the site and giving better information for the other visitors.

One of the biggest problem of the visitors is the transportation, they complain about the overcharges of the taxi drivers and they have trouble to find their accommodation places from the airport at the first day when they arrive to Istanbul. In order to solve this problem you can find the transportation maps and the tips on the page of transportation.

I am not a native English speaker and I created this website for helping the people it is very normal that you can find some mistakes please excuse me for them.

Turkey is well known with its Turkish bath "Hamam" culture and whenever someone plans to come here he always gets some advices about visiting the hamams.

It can be very beneficial to visit a hamam if you like to discover something oriental. However if you are interested having some gay experience in the hamams, frankly Istanbul does not offer you many good-quality attractions as a gay sauna. Me personally I haven't been any of them but I got many questions from you that"s why I wanted to write what information I got about them.

First of all keep in mind that hamam is an old thing even for turkish people. A random turk doesn't go hamam for cleaning. We used to have them in our neighbourhoods for our personal cleaning while Paris needed to invent perfume and umbrella.

When you are in Istanbul you might hear that people are talking about some gay friendliy hamams around eyup and sultanahmet. I advice you to be careful before deciding to go any of them it is because I heard many people were complaining about the hygiene in this places.

There is another one around taksim called as aquarius sauna as far as I have heard it is in better situation comparing to many others the only complain I heard about them is massage prices are very high and there are many rent-boys in that place so if you don't wanna face with any awkward situation please be careful from the first step. There are also some other places which does not promote itself as gay friendly but gay people visits often. If you wanna find information about them you should follow the "mouth newspaper" while you are in Istanbul.
