Did someone say dystopian? Yes please! One of my favorite genres!

Jacob Elordi was wonderful. Flying around in his 1950’s Cessna, this is a typical dystopian movie in that after the flu or whatever it is gets you, it is the human beings that will come after you next. a sometimes combo of Mad Max and the Walking Dead, how does one survive all of that? See the movie in IMAX as we did to find out!

Visionary director Ridley Scott’s “The Dog Stars,” a riveting, epic thriller set in a world where survival is instinct, but humanity is a choice, debuts exclusively in theaters August 28. Based on Peter Heller’s captivating bestseller, “The Dog Stars” features a critically acclaimed ensemble, including Jacob Elordi, Josh Brolin, Margaret Qualley, Allison Janney, Benedict Wong, and Guy Pearce. The screenplay is by Mark L. Smith, based upon the novel by Peter Heller, and the producers are Ridley Scott, p.g.a., Michael Pruss, p.g.a., Mark L. Smith, and Cliff Roberts, p.g.a., with Lily Brooks-Dalton, Brandon Scott Smith, Peter Heller, Aidan Elliott serving as executive producers.

The film tells the story of Hig (Jacob Elordi), a young pilot who, together with a military survivalist, Bangley (Josh Brolin), has carved out an efficient but isolated homestead in a brutal postapocalyptic world. But when Hig receives a mysterious radio transmission, he ventures into the unknown in search of the hope and humanity he still believes exist.

The film as a fair amount of violence because all futuristic post-apocalyptic movies show us the truth about humans, they are bad! Attacking hordes are always to be found, and in this movie, twice. Hence the R rating, so not for younger teens.

This is the Utsava Tri-Ply Clad Covered Kadai with Ceramic Interior and you have a choice of four sizes!

Today I am making an amazing frittata, and here it is! Having the right cookware makes all the difference!

Let’s start with the ingredients, warning, my dad used to call me a food yuppie, so this may be a tad fancy!

-Eggs of course
-Heavy cream! For extra fluffiness.
-Bacon bits. I no longer use the huge bag of these bits from the big box store, I am now fancy and buy my bacon bits from the fancy store, so these bacon bits are from the pork belly!
-Fresh Summer tomato. Beefsteak preferably.

Since I am using tomato’s which have to soften, I am doing so with EVOO (extra virgin olive oil). Otherwise, my usual egg recipe includes adding a little EVOO to the mixture, you cannot taste the oil, but it also adds to the final dish!

Lastly, eggs should be cooked at a very low flame. In the old days I was always in a rush and used a high flame because I am always hungry! A low frame keeps the egg protein from breaking! I told you, food yuppie!

I felt like a burrito, so here is the dish I am serving to myself! Absolutely delicious, and yes, I made enough for a second breakfast for tomorrow, as I know I will be rushed to get on with my Monday, today is a slow-moving Sunday because I deserve it!
