Over the years, Bali has been described in many superlative terms. Endowed with great natural beauty and rich culture, it is a land of soaring majestic volcanoes, of emerald rice fields clinging on hillsides and sculpted in tiers, of idyllic beaches, and modern resorts. Despite overwhelming foreign influences, the Balinese have managed to reach a harmonious balance between preserving their culture, their natural environment and accommodating today’s changing world. The Hindu Bali religion pervades all aspects of Balinese society and shrines and temples dominate the landscape. Ceremonies, festivals, age-old dances, and the arts are also an inseparable part of their life and culture.

Batu Belig (Smooth Stone) is the closest truly rural area to the heart of tourist Bali. Previously only accessible by a pot-holed dirt track, the laying of a tarmac road has brought villas within a few minutes drive of the restaurant district of Oberoi, although the walk along the beach to the same area is just as appealing. There’s not a great deal of commercial development in Batu Belig itself, which means that it has retained its rural charm whilst enjoying the obvious benefits of proximity.

In Batu Belig, there’s a hidden sanctuary that is openly gay welcoming and ideal for solos, couples, groups of friends, even gay families. Private bungalows and a shared pool intermingled with lush gardens, temples and even a river on a charming plantation property.

Villa Sanggah Bali is the creation of Georgeanne, an artist, designer and long time lover of Bali and its culture. She offers
two very private and luxurious Bali style bungalows, which are located at opposite ends of the magical gardens for your privacy.

Villa Sanggah is a B&B style accommodation. The bungalows are situated in quiet coves, the lush gardens are magical, the ambience is restful and healing, the pool devine, and private bales ideal for yoga practice.

Bungalow Bunga Melati (Jasmine Flower) has two bedrooms with private entrances with queen beds. A large garden bath with two showers, Japanese bathtub and a nice private lounging area for nude sunbathing

Bungalow Bunga Kecil (Small Flower) is also a very private one bedroom with a queen bed, lovely garden bath with a outdoor shower and a Japanese bathtub. With private outdoor dining and Balinese Bale, it is perfect for a honeymoon couple or those celebrating a romantic occasion.

Both bungalows have sitting porches, flat screen TV´s, Cable, DVDs WIFI, AIR CON, Fans and Security Boxes.

About The Villa and Bungalows:
Located on a large piece of gardened land that used to be a coconut plantation, the property has a river and well-tended, lush gardens for relaxation and contemplation. They have kept the feeling of old Bali, complete with bales, gardens and temples.

The Balinese staff provides you with daily maid service and breakfast which is served by the pool, main dining room, or in your private bungalow. They have two masseuses on staff for your pleasure, and spa treatments can be arranged.

Guests may have dinner parties for friends and special occasions. Menus are decided between the guests and the staff. Guests pay the staff to shop and cook.

Wandering is a tiny town located in the picturesque Hotham Valley (Peel region of Western Australia) – approximately 120 kilometres from Perth the capital.

Wandering was discovered by early European pioneers when they found their straying wagon team of horses grazing in lush grass around a fresh water spring. It is known till this day as Horse Well. The village was called Wandering to recall the first sighting of the wandering stock, and the shire is graced by a statue of “Wandering Horses.”

Wandering is primarily an agricultural region which produces hay, cereal crops, canola oil seed, wool, lamb, beef and myriad varietals of grapes. Half a dozen vineyards and cellar doors have sprung up within a 30-minute circle. They are calling themselves the Hotham Valley Wine Trail, and some entrepreneur will probably soon set up a horse-drawn carriage tour of these rustic vineyards.

Nina and Simone: the twin cottages are adjacent to the winemakers’ residence and bistro’s garden.

You will find the Organic/Biodynamic Hotham Ridge Winery in the Hotham Valley, about one and half hours south east of Perth. Situated at an altitude of 350 metres, Hotham Ridge enjoys ideal growing conditions – hot summer days, cool nights and cold winters.

These ideal growing conditions show up clearly in their wines, which combine elegance, structure with vibrant fruit characters. Their emblem is the Magpie—a quintessential sight and sound in this part of the world. Enjoy the vineyard and stay at one of their cottages for an extended visit to this region.

Relaxing gardens feature “yard art” found on the farm and in the large winery warehouse.

The deluxe cottages were hand-built in 2012 with local materials by the owners after harvest and pruning were done. They are part of the cellar door and bistro complex. Each self-contained cottage is named after the winery dogs – Nina or Billie. There is a comfortable queen size bed in the bedroom along with clothes hanging space and a study desk with ample power points for a computer and chargers.

Dutch-color flowers and inter-connected ponds and water features greet you at the cellar door entrance.

In the dining-living area the furniture is a blend of contemporary and antique. There is a television and reverse cycle air-conditioning. While guests can mingle in the gardens of the winery each cottage has an outside courtyard for privacy and relaxation. The kitchenette has everything needed to make a meal and the Lavazza coffee machine provides professionally brewed coffee. The spacious ensuite and the shower have views to the chardonnay vines.

The Winery Bistro has meals available and there is provision for breakfast each day. The food available is organic and where possible grown and produced on the estate.

There are gardens set in five acres which includes ponds and waterfalls. The property is registered with Land for Wildlife. The vineyard, orchards and vegetable garden are organic/biodynamic. These same principles are used in the winery and the wines are organic. There are walking trails on the 167 acre property with plenty of places to see the bush and watch the wildlife and nearby is a wildlife park.

The Organic/Biodynamic vineyard and winery of Hotham Ridge was established in 1988 and the first wines were made in the early 1990’s. The current winery was built in 1993 and when the present owners – Dutchmen by birth, Australians by choice – bought the property in 2002, they began organic practices which led to full Organic/Biodynamic Certification with in 2010.

The oldest vines (Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, Semillon, Riesling and Zinfandel) were planted in the late 1980’s. Shiraz was added in the late 1990’s and Tempranillo in 2004.

Verandahs

In 2005 Viognier and Verdelho were grafted onto the vines of the northern half of the Riesling block. Careful site selection, combined with meticulous vineyard management, have paid dividends. In 1993 the hillside vineyard won its first trophy with the 1993 Semillon and many other trophies have followed.

The Hotham Ridge Winery is a boutique winery producing quality award winning wines from fruit grown in their own vineyard.

Perth is the capital city of Western Australia and sprawls along a flat coastal plain, centred along the Swan River and bounded by the Darling Scarp to the east and the Indian Ocean coastline in the west. Perth is the fourth largest city in Australia. The many uncrowded beaches along the Perth coastline define the lifestyle which is laid-back, quiet and safe. The Perth region has been home to the indigenous Nyoongar people for at least the past 40,000 years. The City has a temperate Mediterranean type climate. Summers are hot and dry whilst winters are generally wet and mild.

There is plenty to see in the city centre within wandering distance or on a free CAT bus. Hidden among the sprawl of the surrounding and metropolitan area are a few worthwhile attractions usually less than an hour away by car, or a bit longer on public transport. Outside of the metropolitan area are some unspoilt national parks, unpopulated coastline and other interesting locations.

From its founding, Atlantic City has always been about tourism. It was founded in the late 19th century as a resort destination after railroad companies built track between Absecon Island (on which the city exists today) and Philadelphia. In its early days, Atlantic City catered to urban workers from Philadelphia. The heyday for Atlantic City as a beach resort lasted through the first half of the 20th century, when it fell out of favour. Atlantic City was revived after a state-wide referendum in 1976 legalized casino gambling in the city, and casinos began popping up along the boardwalk and in the Marina District starting in 1978. The most popular way to get around Atlantic City is on the 4-mile long Boardwalk (the oldest in the United States), as eight of the eleven casinos are on the Boardwalk. While one’s feet are the most popular way of navigating the boards, there are also old-fashioned rolling chairs that can be hired. These shaded surreys are rolled up and down the length of the Boardwalk by experienced guides, who are out soliciting passengers day and night.

On The Boardwalk

Resorts was the first casino hotel in Atlantic City, becoming the first legal casino outside of Nevada in the United States, when it opened on May 26, 1978. The resort completed an expansion in 2004, adding the 27-story Rendezvous Tower, and underwent renovations in 2011, converting the resort to a Roaring Twenties theme. The Resorts site was originally occupied by two three-story wooden Quaker rooming houses, The Chalfonte House and The Haddon House.

In May 2011, Resorts became the first casino in Atlantic City to market itself to LGBT customers. The resort opened “Prohibition”, the city’s first gay casino nightclub, as well as hiring a director of LGBT marketing.

Ocean Tower built in 1927, is 260 ft (79 m) tall. The tower is the original Haddon Hall that reopened in 1978 and contains 480 guest rooms. The base of the tower is home to the main casino floor, spa, pool, and the main retail and dining level. It also contains a club reserved for qualified casino players called “Club 1133″, as well a 350-seat theater.

The 459-room Rendezvous Tower was built on the site of a smaller hotel tower for the casino. The Rendezvous Tower, whose rooms were designed by Bergman Walls Associates, opened in 2004. The tower contains 357 luxury rooms and 42 suites. Combined with the property’s existing 480 rooms, Resorts total room inventory was boosted to 879 rooms after it was completed. The exterior of the tower features an Art Deco design that was part of a “return to the classics” theme which the owners implemented for the property. The new tower also brought upon an expansion of the casino and several new restaurants.
