I loved this blouse (do people still call it a blouse? Top, maybe? Am I 100 years old, maybe?) so much that I made-out with it. And that’s how it got those perfectly formed kiss marks all over it. And then it looked so cute I just left em’ there and made husband run inside and grab the camera for a photo shoot. Yep. That’s what happened. (I’m an idiot.)

Can I confess something to you guys? The truth is that I am one of those people who has been guilty of looking sick-triple-sick at the gym – far more often than I want to admit, in fact. Picture a baggy old t-shirt from girl’s camp 5 years ago with pit stains + some nasty, ill-fitting shorts or sweat pants + some raggedy old tennis shoes. Yep – salivate over THAT image in your mind right now. And ya know what I’ve come to discover? It feels So. Much. Better. to actually look mildly presentable at the gym instead of woof-triple-woof-repulsive. Fo real!

Now for all of you who started hatin’ the moment you read that cuz you think I’m implying that you should get all dolled up to go to the gym and be one of those girls who wears a full face of makeup, regular bra, hair down and hardly breaks a sweat, let me assure you: that is NOT what I’m suggesting at all. All I’m sayin’ is that I’ve personally found that I actually feel a little more motivated at the gym if the clothes I got on my back don’t make me wanna barf when I catch myself in the mirror. AND, the best discovery I’ve made: you can actually score adorable gym clothes without breaking the bank. Enter: Old Navy! Forget spending a fortune for stuff you’re gonna sweat and get all nasty in – Old Navy’s active wear is adorable, comfortable, colorful, and best of all, extremely affordable. p.s. Guys, on the real? These compression pants might be the most comfortable things I’ve ever put on my body. Certainly the most comfortable workout pants I’ve ever worn. I been wearin’ these babies 24/7 since I got them, and because they’re on sale, I may or may not have purchased four pairs of them. FOUR! That’s how amaze-balls they are. If you have low tolerance for being uncomfortable (um, ME), you’re gonna need these in your life. Surrrriously.

I decided to post an outfit today. Are you mad about that? Turns out I just wasn’t in the mood for woots and woofs (um, Debbie Downer much?). This is the last of the outfit pics from our weekend getaway in Carmel. I sure was crushin’ on those cowboy boots that weekend. They done did me right, and I appreciated it. Also appreciated that those johns cost me $15 from Target! They had one awkward tassle on them that I wasn’t crazy about, so I just snipped that baby right off and they were good to go! Cowboy boots at its finest. Ohhhhhhhh clearance section of Target shoes: if you were a boy, your name would be Chase Willardson and I’d marry the crap outta you, then ball my eyes out like a big wahhh-baby any time you left my sight.

Bow Ties. AKA, The Bee’s Knees. I think any and every boy would do well to own at least ONE of these things and hold the confidence to work it into his regular sartorial repertoire.
