Next, it’s important to ensure that conversion tracking is implemented correctly – that is, conversions on both the mobile/desktop site and mobile app are getting tracked properly. For mobile app conversion tracking, we recommend Firebase or 3rd party mobile app analytics partners like Branch, Appsflyer, and Apsalar.

Bidding Strategy (Maximize Conversion Value – ROAS):

If you have a brand with fewer products and can’t afford to lose impressions on your brand’s related terms, then we suggest keeping the ROAS low.
You can also try a Standard Shopping Campaign, which allows Manual CPC bidding, along with enhanced CPC. It will help you get greater search impressions.
Initially, it’s better to run a campaign at a lower ROAS, so that it can generate some conversion data. You can then gradually increase your ROAS to spend your allocated budget.

Product Schema for Automatic Item Updates:

You must add product schema on product pages. This will help Google in fetching important information like price and availability.

Optimize Product Titles:

Since Smart Shopping Campaigns don’t have the option to add keywords, we can add important keywords (like brand, product type, or colour) in the product’s title.

Create Size & Colour variants for each product using item_group_id

Variants can be made based on size and colour, and it’s better to create variants of each product. You just need to add the item_group_id field in your feed. Each variant should be submitted individually and then grouped together with item_group_id.

So, if there is a product which has the item id ‘12345’ on your site, you can put that as an item_group_id in your feed, and enter variants as individual products with the item id ‘12345-S-R’ where S denotes ‘small’ size, and R denotes ‘red’ colour. Please note that the item id starts with ‘12345’ which is the same as group_id, but it’s not compulsory to keep item_group_id same as item_id. It’s done to simply make data readable.

Products with the same item_group_id need to have at least one different product attribute. Just make sure you add size and colour product attributes in the feed, and that each variant has a different size or colour attribute.

For example:

Green kurti M: item_group_id: kurti11 – color: green – size: M – age_group: adult

Green kurti L: item_group_id: kurti11 – color: green- size: L – age_group: adult

Brown kurti L: item_group_id: kurti11 – color: brown- size: L – age_group: adult

Blue kurti M: item_group_id: kurti11 – color: blue – size: M – age_group: adult

Tip for creating variants if you have existing products:

If you use the format mentioned above for creating variants, you will lose conversion data associated with those item ids. In this case, you need to keep one of your best performing variants as an existing item id.

For example:

In this case, you can use item_group_id as ‘12345G’ (G for the group for our own understanding)

The rest of items can be:

12345-S

12345 (considering that the medium size is the best seller, we will use the existing item id data for this variant to preserve conversion data)

12345-L

12345-XL

Separate Campaign for Bestsellers

As you continue adding variants, the count of your products will increase and in this case, some of your products may never get exposure or impressions. You can use a custom label and mark your bestsellers which deserve impressions.

Now, create another campaign with a lesser ROAS to give priority to your bestsellers over other products, and in product groups, put in the ones marked ‘bestseller’ on the custom label while excluding the remaining products. Also, don’t forget to exclude these products from your previous campaigns with higher ROAS. This will ensure that your bestsellers are not losing on impressions.

Product Type

Product Type is an important attribute for classifying products and matching with search queries. Further, it will help you in better analyzing the data based on the product categories.

- Use the full ‘breadcrumb’ information. Wherever possible, including more granular categories is recommended as it classifies your product more precisely.

- It’s alright to give the same values for google_product_category and product_type attributes e.g. Clothing & Accessories > Clothing > Activewear > Motorcycle Protective Clothing > Motorcycle Suits

Product ratings & customer reviews for boosting CTR

You can sign up for product ratings once you have at least 50 reviews on your website across all products. A valid GTIN for all those products would be a plus.

Create a dashboard to control products

You can create an internal dashboard to restrict certain products from showing up in the feed on the basis of the data you extract from campaigns, along with what you already know. You can apply a cap for the price range for different categories, show only specific brands, or remove any kind of price cap for some specific brands.

So, why do you need to create a dashboard for this? Well, Google allows very limited functionality for applying rules on products. You can sort via custom labels or brands, and there’s nothing much to do.

Errors

Missing value [gtin]:

Once you submit a blank value for a GTIN field, you need to add one more attribute – Identifier_Exists.

Just add the Identifier_Exists attribute with a value of FALSE or no for all products classified under this issue.

Keep in mind that if Google finds out the GTIN value of these products via some other merchants in case they provide it for the same products, it will reject these items from the feed, irrespective of your Identifier_Exists attribute.

If you have a small set of products, you can look up the GTIN number from sites like upcitemdb or barcodelookup.

How Do I Fix It?

Recommended way:

Collect the GTIN number from sellers for each product, as it will help you in leveraging all features of the Smart Shopping Campaign (like product reviews).

Not recommended, but last possible solution:

You can remove the brand information from the product pages, schema, and feed for the set of products with this issue. Once it’s done, the Merchant Centre will most likely stop showing the Missing Value [gtin] error.

Image too small:

If you can scale the images then it’s alright, otherwise, remove these item ids from the feed if you have created some dashboard/tool to create filters or rules for the products which need to be added to the feed.

Mismatched [price]:

When the price on your product page changes more frequently than the number of times the Googlebot visits your product page, it can lead to mismatched price.

Account warned for policy violations: Insufficient contact information

The product pages on your website must have links to your Refund Policy, Return Policy and Contact Form. It will be better if you implement it on all pages rather than just product pages.

You can ignore crawl rate related errors, like:

Image not retrieved (crawl pending)
Image not retrieved (crawl rate too slow)

Do a research, then write content. You can perform a Google search or you can use Google trends. Perform a Google search about content you are about to write and find out the best post. Now, you have to write several times better post than that best post in order to rank on first page of Google. As you might have heard “The best place to hide a dead body is second page of Google’s search results”.

Google Trends and Keyword Planner are both free services to get idea about keywords, but Google trends is short and simple whereas for keyword planner, you need to sign up for AdWords (That requires credit card now just for confirmation). You can also find trending content for your keyword on Buzzsumo.
Perform Keyword Research for Optimising your content.

Try to include keywords in your content, Title, Tags as well as description. Start typing your keyword in Google search and you will be able to see keyword ideas in Suggestions. Further, you can get keyword ideas from related search queries appear at the end of search results.
Get keyword Idea from keyword planner or Google trends. Try to use keywords with higher search Volumes and at the same time relevant to your post. Add keywords and location if it’s targeted to some specific country or city or state else keep it all locations for finding global search volume.

As soon as you hit “Get Ideas” You will be able to see a graph, keyword ideas and a download button. Click on download button and download the excel file. After that, you can simply sort it according to search volume in descending order and apply filter of your focus keyword.

If you list 10 points in your blog post and if reader is not interested in any part of list post, then reader can simply skip that point and proceed to next point. Similarly, if reader likes few points of list post, then reader can share the list post just because of those few points.

Make sure you provide answer to the question of reader and satisfy the user intent otherwise this would lead to increase in bounce rate, leading to fall in rankings. Bounce rate is also a ranking signal in Google search.

Write less, Revise More.
After writing a content, Proofread it using Spellcheckplus for any grammatical error. In WordPress you can further find grammatical errors using Proofreading by Jetpack.
Create Both External and Internal Links.
Make sure to add at least 5 internal links in the Blog Post. Put external link often, to similar website of your niche or you can put external link as source of data. Don’t hesitate in mentioning data source, it increases trust factor.
Spend Equal Time on Sharing as much as you do on Writing.
After publishing your post, Social bookmark it on Delicious and most importantly on Google plus page. Content sharing is equally important as content creation. Configuring WordPress for AMP : Accelerated Mobile Pages

Google Webmaster recently started showing Accelerated Mobile Pages inside Search Appearance. No doubt Google was gatekeeper of AMP project since it’s launch and it’s pushing websites to implement it. Currently News websites and blogs will be more benefited by this.

Accelerated Mobile Page is simply diet or compressed version of html page. It is limited to some defined tags only, No fancy tags allowed. In order to serve web pages faster to mobile devices having 2G or slower internet connection.

It has 3 components :

Amp html – it’s the compact version of standard html with some restricted tags on it.
Amp JS – Also called Compact JS. It does not allow 3^rd party java script and all JS must be loaded from same origin.
Amp Cache – After your page is validated by Google Webmasters. Google will store it, Cache it and serve it as CDN (Content Delivery Network).

It is mainly for news and blog websites as of now as with restricted use of 3^rd party JavaScript, Inline CSS and compact html we can’t achieve much functionalities. So if you have any other website other than news or blog then you should probably wait for little longer.

So where to start ?

For this you have to maintain two versions of your website pages. One is regular one and other one is amp html version. In order to let Google know about your amp version page, You need to add this tag in head.

Configuring WordPress for AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages)

After Logging into your WordPress Dashboard, click on Plugins -> Add New .
Search for “AMP“, then install and activate the plugin. You don’t need to do any settings, Just install it.
Search for “PageFrog“, then install and activate the plugin. You can change the appearance of your amp page using this plugin.
Setup Google Analytics by clicking on Analytics in Mobile formats tab on left pane.
Sign-in and authenticate Pagefrog Plugin with Google Analytics and then chose website you wish to track.
Setup Google Adsense by clicking on Ads in Mobile formats tab on left pane.
Sign-in and authenticate Pagefrog Plugin with Google Adsense and then chose ad units you wish to display on your amp html pages.
Ad unit Large Rectangle (336 × 280) is recommend with default settings of showing ad after 250 words as in new version of this plugin, Author has fixed maximum number of Ads to 3 earlier it was not limited.
Click on settings tab of Pagefrog plugin menus and enable amp html for all pages.
If you are using Yoast SEO Plugin then use Glue Plugin to ensure that AMP plugin uses default Yoast SEO metadata. This Plugin too doesn’t need any kind of settings to be configured, You just need to install it.
You don’t need to submit your website or put any reconsideration request. Whenever next time Google will crawl your website and it finds it amp friendly then it will surely appear in indexed AMP on Google Webmasters.
You can check if your website is validated or not by adding “#development=1” at the end of any URL of your Website in Chrome browser. Then Right click and click on inspect element or Hit Ctrl+Shift+I.
Head over to console and if there you are able to see “AMP Validation Successful” Then You’re done. That was easy, Isn’t it ?

How to Completely Backup Your WordPress Site Using BackWPup

Like the Steve Jobs said “If you live each day as it was your last, someday you’ll most certainly be right”. So , you never know at which spur of moment your all hard work is going to be lost. It’s always a wiser choice to take complete backup of your WordPress site to deal with nightmares. There are many ways of taking backup, but the problem arrives when you have taken backup and you are not able to restore it. It may happen due to any reason such that file type in which you have compressed the backup is no longer supported or Plugin you used for the backup is outdated. One should always use tried and tested ways to make sure that restore task is possible too.

After Logging into your WordPress Dashboard, click on Plugins -> Add New .
Search for “BackWPup“, then install and activate the plugin.
After that, you will be able to see BackWPup icon on the left pane.

First, check the installation to make sure that there is no error.
Click on “Create a Job”.

General

Job Name: Enter name of the job in “Please name this job” section.

Job Tasks: Tick all the options in “This Job is a …” section.

Backup File Creation: Make no changes in this section.

Job Destination

Backup to Folder: Tick this option to keep a copy of backup in a folder of your web hosting account.

Backup sent to email: This option is applicable if backup size is small such as less than or equal to 25MB.

Tick any of the cloud hosting account if you have, it’s recommended that you also upload a copy of the backup to cloud hosting sites such as Dropbox, S3, etc to ensure the availability of the file. Since email is not useful for usual backup files larger than 25MB so cloud hosting sites are a better choice.

Log files

Enter your email address where you want to receive log of jobs done in “Send log to email address“

Leave all other options in this section unchanged.

Click on “Save Changes” and proceed to next tab, i.e. “Schedule“.

Start Job: If you want to run job automatically within fixed interval of time then select “with WordPress Cron”. If you want to start manually, then select “manually only” or if you want to run job by visiting a specific link then click on “With a link”.

Leave rest of options unchanged in this section and click on “Save changes” and proceed to next tab, i.e. “DB Backup“.

DB Backup

Select all option in Tables to backup.

Select backup file compression as GZip

Leave all other settings as default in this section.

click on “Save changes” and proceed to next tab i.e “Files“.

Files

Folders to Backup: If you have multiple WordPress sites or other sites on same web hosting, then tick all the folders of other sites that you want to exclude from Backup.

Leave all options unchanged.

Click on save changes and proceed to next tab, i.e. “Plugins“.

Plugins

Select GZip as File Compression

and click on save changes.

After that, you will be able to see Changes for job “Whateverthenameis” saved.

Click on run now .

Nothing to change here, proceed to next step. If you want to change anything, then you can change a number of files to keep in a folder according to your desired figure.

To: Dropbox

You need to authenticate BackWPup WordPress plugin with your Dropbox account. First, Click on “Get full Dropbox auth code“.

After that a pop-up will emerge in new window, Login your Dropbox account and then click on allow.

An authentication code will appear in window. Copy that code and paste it into To: Dropbox tab of BackWPup.

You have successfully authenticated with your Dropbox account, click on “Run now“.

Finally after completing the whole process, Backup Job will execute and you can see its progress.

When the whole process completes, you will get notification of “Job Completed“.

Google released a developer tool ARC (Application Runtime for Chrome) Welder which allows you to run various Android apps on Chrome Browser. It is based on Google’s experiment to run Android apps for testing purposes without need of some specific operating system and they called this experiment as Application Runtime for Chrome. ARC is a sandboxing technology to run Android Apps on Chrome Web Browser in an isolated environment. It’s independent of operating system, allows safe running of apps at near-native speed.It’s currently Available on Chrome for Windows, Linux and MAC OS X. Earlier it was accessible to developers only, but now anyone can download and use it. ARC welder is based on Android 4.4 (KitKat) and it can currently open only one app at a time. You can select in which mode you want app to run whether Landscape or Portrait. You need to specify which version of app you want to run whether phone or tablet it’s all your choice.

SIMPLE STEPS TO RUN ANDROID APPS IN CHROME BROWSER:-

For this you must have latest version of Google Chrome (Version 41+) or Install the latest Google Chrome browser using this link.
Add the ARC Welder to Chrome from the Chrome Store using given link. Since ARC Welder downloads ARC dependencies too, which is of size 100-300 Mb so it can take some time if you are having slow internet connection.

Earlier Pradnesh07 told that users who have nexus 5 with lollipop version can only use this feature right now, but later on he confirmed that it’s available on Android kitkat 4.4 or above, other OS, other ROMs and in other Countries too. Also, this guy made a video on quick overview of Whatsapp Voice Call feature.

Another Reddit user Tropiux gave a method to enable voice calling feature on Whatsapp without having an invite. Make sure you have Android Version 4.4 (Kitkat) or above.

Enable Whatsapp Voice Call feature without getting an invite using these steps:

Download latest version of Whatsapp, since it’s not available at Play Store you can download it from official website using this direct link or this alternative link.
Make sure your phone is rooted.
Open terminal with root privileges.
Type the following command am start -n com.whatsapp/com.whatsapp.HomeActivity.
You need to type this command every time you need to make a voice call using Whatsapp.
Simply call your friend who has installed latest version of Whatsapp using the link above after that, he or she can start using Whatsapp voice call feature.
After your friend’s voice call feature is activated he or she can simply call you back using Whatsapp so that you can also activate voice call feature permanently.

After a long wait, Finally you can now access Whatsapp from your web browser, currently it is available only for Chrome. Now you can send or receive messages via your browser . Last year Facebook enhanced the user’s privacy options after acquisition and now this feature will surely make Whatsapp more user-friendly. They announced it in this blog post

“Today, for the first time, millions of you will have the ability to use WhatsApp on your web browser. Our web client is simply an extension of your phone: the web browser mirrors conversations and messages from your mobile device — this means all of your messages still live on your phone.”

You can avail this feature by simply updating your Whatsapp application to the latest version from Play Store or directly from here.

After updating whatsapp application, Visit Whatsapp Web using Chrome browser and you will be provided a QR code.

You can find an option of Whatsapp web in the menu, Simply touch on that option and scan the QR code.

After that, you will be automatically logged in and then you can access Whatsapp Web from your Chrome Browser.

You can also activate desktop alerts and sound notifications in the notifications option in the menu.

Currently it is available for Android, BlackBerry, BlackBerry 10, and Windows Phone Platforms with Chrome Browser only. Since Apple has no background multi-tasking and no proper push technology and due to various other limitations iOS users cannot access it, however it will be available, but there is no specified time frame.

First of all, after installing the plugin, Go to the settings of the plugin via left panel named SEO.

Then you will be able to see the following options in WordPress SEO Dashboard :
Tracking: Ticking this option will send anonymous data to the author of the plugin, Which will help him in tracking if any issue occurs in the future. Untick if you are more concerned regarding privacy of your blog.
Security : If your blog has guest blogging enabled then, you can tick this option to disallow them redirecting or no-indexing posts.
Webmaster Tools: This tool lets you verify ownership of your WordPress site quickly. You have just to insert values provided in meta tags by Google Webmaster Tools or Alexa.
These tools will help you in providing data like sites linked to your site, site links, crawl errors and other insights. After inserting everything, you can just click on save changes.

Titles & Metas : Now here comes Titles & Metas, This tool helps in configuring the title of site, meta keywords and description. Also it has options to clean up the tag. It has several tabs in it, We will configure one by one.

Force rewrite titles : You can leave this unticked as WordPress automatically detects whether titles need to be rewritten or not. titles need to be rewritten or not.
Noindex subpages of archives : You must tick this option to remove unnecessary subpages of your WordPress site from index.

Use meta keywords tag : Although Google don’t care about meta keywords of your site, but still you can tick it for the sake of other search engines like Bing.

Clean up the head: Tick all the options to clean the head by hiding RSD, WLW, RSS and Shortlink for posts. Save changes and proceed to next step “Home“.
Home Tab: This tab includes all the settings like title, meta description and meta keywords of the template.

Title template: This will be the title of the homepage shown in Google, it should be of 5-9 words and maximum 70 characters.
Meta description template: This will be meta description of the home page, it should not be exceeding 156 characters. You can also use focus keyword here, but don’t spam it.
Meta keywords template: Here you can add keywords for homepage you are focusing on. Just add 4-5 keywords not more than that. Save changes and then proceed to next step “Post Types“.
Post Types Tab: This tool will allow you to set titles and metas for posts, pages and media.

Title template: %%title%%
Meta description template: %%excerpt%%
Meta keywords template: %%focuskw%%
It’s already done so no need to change anything here except, one option.
Date in Snippet Preview: Tick Show date in snippet preview if your blog or site is about news, contests or coupons otherwise leave it unticked.
Taxonomies: This tool allows you to configure title & meta for categories and tags.

Social: Here you can integrate your WordPress site with Facebook, Twitter and Google+. You can add Facebook open graph meta tags, Twitter card meta data and Google+ specific post meta data.

Facebook: Simply tick the option Add Open Graph meta data, then enter the link to any logo or image which will show up as a thumbnail whenever your website is shared or liked on Facebook and also if your post does not have any image in it, then Facebook will show up that thumbnail by default.

Add Open Graph meta data: Tick
Facebook Page URL: Enter URL of your wordpress site’s Facebook fanpage here.
Frontpage settings:
Image URL: Enter URL of the logo or image of your wWordPresssite, Which you want to be showed up every time your home page is liked or shared.
Description: You can simply click on copy home meta description.

Default settings:
Image URL: Enter URL of the logo or image of your wordpress site, Which you want to be showed up when posts which don’t have any images are liked or shared. You can validate your Facebook Open Graph meta tags after saving settings using Facebook Debugger.
Twitter : Similarly simply tick the option Add Twitter card meta data and, then enter the username of your wordpress site’s twitter account.

Site Twitter Username : Enter username of your wordpress site’s twitter account here. Using Twitter card you can attach image or media to tweets that can drive traffic towards your wordpress site. You can validate your Twitter card meta tags after saving settings using Twitter Validation Tool.

Yoast SEO plugin also include functionality to create a xml sitemap for which you have to use separate plugin earlier. You can simply enable XML sitemap menu from XML Sitemaps panel.

XML Sitemap: Tick the option saying check this box to enable XML sitemap functionality.
User Sitemap : Tick the option saying disable author/user sitemap. This will help in avoiding duplicate content and also keeping usernames of authors secure as attacker can directly access username through sitemap.
General Settings: tick the options saying “ping yahoo.com” and “ping google.com”.This will help in notifying search engines as soon as new content is published on your wordpress site.
Exclude post types : Tick the option saying media (attachment).

Prefix for Search Page breadcrumbs : Enter here prefix to search page in breadcrumb. Breadcrumb for 404 Page : Enter here prefix for 404 Page. Tick the option saying bold the last page in the breadcrumb. Taxonomy to show in breadcrumbs for : Posts : Category Here you can see an example of above breadcrumb settings :
