My boyfriend spent all afternoon playing sonic the hedgehog, which inspired me to make this treasury! I love sonic, but unfortunately, I totally suck at playing it. Anyway, click on the picture to visit the treasury!

Just three weeks ago, I linked to Lunascrafts’ Death of Rats. Well, she’s done it again, this time with a jaw droppingly large Dalek. Made with super bulky yarn, and a 5.5mm hook, this squishy ball of hate used up an entire IKEA cushion for stuffing. That’s dedication!

How-to:

Step one: Draw your preferred design onto the foam then, with a very sharp craft knife, cut out your design. I did this Point of Origin glyph freehand, but the Stargate Wiki has all the Milky Way glyphs in a nice resolution for you to print/trace/copy. Remember to reverse the design though as stamps print backwards.

Step two: Stick your design onto a bit of card or something you can hold onto whilst stamping. No fancy glue required – I just used cheapo BluStik and it has held on pretty well.

Step three: Cover your stamp with ink. An ink pad is great, but if you want fancy colours like I did and don’t have all the inks required, “colouring in” your stamp with felt tips works just as well! It just takes a little longer.

Step four: Smush!

Amazing what you can acheive with a little trash when the craft store is closed!

This Toothless Plush looks much better than the official movie plush!  There’s a tutorial for creating a Toothless of your very own that starts here - it’s split into seven parts, and is pretty easy to follow.  I’ve even made my own Toothless following the pattern – and while it was definitely time-consuming, it was worth all the work.

According to Doctor Who Crafts, this replica crib of The Doctor’s cot was made for Andred Gallafraigh and submitted by Kathleen Gallafraigh. Hmmmmm,  Gallafraigh….Gallifrey…I wonder!

“…The Grumpy Cat Art Project, a multimedia exhibition and auction event in honor of the Internet celebrity cat put together by more than 30 artists-in-residence at the Lowe Mill Arts & Entertainment center in Huntsville, Alabama. According to one of the event organizers Dustin Timbrook, the exhibition aims to show the world that “art can elevate even the sillest subject,” taking advantage of the cat’s internet appeal to showcase the talent of resident artists at Lowe Mill. All of their artworks, which range from sculptures and paintings to stained glass art and soap carvings, are scheduled to be auctioned off online between May 27th and May 31st, culminating in a one-night exhibition at the art center on May 31st.”

 ”Ceramic potter and sculptor Calvin Hubbard’s Grumpy Cat is incredibly expressive and lovable. Don’t you just want to hug him?” This artist and art combo picture really cracked me up this morning. I love how Calvin’s got the Grumpy Cat look on his face.
