Here's a decent website I found that will certainly help with your HP Laptop problems. Fix My HP is a blog that focuses mostly on fixing problems with your HP products. Though most of the stuff on the website is about fixing problems with your HP Printers, Desktops and Laptops, there are a decent number of reviews for different consumer electronics, like this informative post that compares the iPhone 5 and the Galaxy Note 2.

There are also some great tips and tutorials. This post certainly helped when I was checking out an HP Pavilion DV6000 laptop for a friend of mine that suffered from a flickering screen.

There are a lot of anti-virus and Internet Security software available on the market today, however a lot of them carry a hefty price tag, and while some of them are really good, a lot of them do things that software available for free can do just as well, if not better in some cases. I've been running nothing but free software on my PCs for the past couple years, and I honestly can't remember when last I had a problem with viruses, spyware or malware. While I don't guarantee that you won't suffer any malicious software problems ever again in your life, I do guarantee you that following this guide will definitely bring you a lot closer to living a headache free life when it comes to keeping your computer healthy.

Step 1: Ditch Internet Explorer.

Seriously. Especially if you're running an older version such as IE6, its really time to upgrade. While Internet Explorer has been enjoying it's position as the de facto Internet browser for many years, that is rapidly changing, as many vulnerabilities have been discovered in it and better, faster and more secure browsers have come on the market. Do yourself and your PC a huge favor and download either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. I prefer Google Chrome, but it really boils down to a matter of preference, as tests carried out on both browsers present them equally as favorable.

Step 2: Get some (free) anti-virus protection.

Do: Download Microsoft Security Essentials
Don't: Download AVG, or any other "free" anti-virus software.

MSE is completely free, is from Microsoft (the makers of Windows) and is more than adequate for most users' needs. AVG free is a stripped down version of AVG Pro, and while it probably would give you as much protection as MSE, it will constantly bug you about upgrading to pro. MSE just runs in the background, updates automatically and only seeks your attention when it really needs it.

Step 3: Keep your computer clean and organized

CCleaner is a free utlility that deletes temporary files, internet history and cleans the system registry. Use it to keep your hard drive from getting bloated with temporary internet files (and to prevent people from snooping on your browsing habits).

Make sure to grab Defraggler as well (From the same company that makes CCleaner, and it's also free). Its a hard disk defragmenting utility thats leaps and bounds better than Window's built in defragment software.

Schedule both to automatically run once weekly, bi-weekly or monthly (depending on your level of computer usage) and it will keep things moving along smoothly.

Step 4: Get add-ons that help keep you safe online

If you're using Firefox, check out the following addons:
Noscript - Blocks Javascript and other scripts from running without permission. http://noscript.net/
Tor - Allows you to browse the internet anonymously. https://www.torproject.org/torbutton/
Adblock - Blocks annoying ads and tracking cookies. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/

Step 5: Be smart!

That email you just got saying you won a lottery that you never signed up for? DELETE IT! That ad showing you how to make $3000 a day at home browsing the Internet? IGNORE IT! As the old saying goes, if its too good to be true, it probably is.

These emails and websites lure you into giving up your personal information that could be used for nefarious means (sometimes even Identity Theft). Use some common sense, and if you're still not sure Google it. Uncovering a scam is often as easy as searching for the website name plus the word "scam". (For example if you're unsure about freemillions.com million dollar giveaway, just google "freemillions.com scam")

Mulitnational Manufacturing giant Honda today unveiled an "All-new ASIMO", a new version of their humanoid robot. It can run at 9kph and hop on one or both legs, and even pour a refereshing beverage.

Confirmed: PlayStation Vita is region free

We kind of thought that the Vita would be region-free, and at E3 we heard some positive news, but now we know for sure.
According to 1UP, Sony Computer Entertainment's president of Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida confirmed it. In response to a question sent to him on Twitter about Vita being region free, he said, "Yes, it is."

Hippies rejoice! VW unveils new version of microbus

GENEVA — Volkswagen AG is resurrecting its iconic microbus, which debuted in 1950 and became a favorite of hippies for its unique styling and copious space for travelers.

Volkswagen is showing a concept version of the van — known by its German nickname, the Bulli — at the Geneva Auto Show this week. Among the six-seater's modern twists: It's powered by an electric motor and uses an iPad to control the entertainment system, climate control and other functions.

Volkswagen said the Bulli can go up to 186.4 miles on a single battery charge. That's far, considering that the Nissan Leaf is rated at 73 miles on a charge by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The Bulli can go up to 87 miles per hour.

Modern Warfare 3 Teaser Site Opens

A teaser website featuring a countdown and a radar background animation has been put up. The site hints that the focus of the third Modern Warfare game will be finding Vladimir Makarov, the leader of the Ultra-nationalists who evaded the 141 in the hair raising conclusion of Modern Warfare 2.

In time (about 2 days and 13 hrs at the time of this post), we shall find out a bit more about it.

Zelda's 25th Anniversary

Yesterday, the legend of Zelda celebrated its 25th anniversary.

The Legend of Zelda, the first game of the series, was first released in Japan on February 21, 1986, on the Famicom Disk System. A cartridge version, using battery-backed memory, was released in the United States on August 22, 1987, and Europe on November 27, 1987.

To celebrate, here is a mural painted by a Japanese artist (who's name we have yet to find out)

Meet the new Wonder Woman

Adrianne Palicki has been casted to play the role of Wonder Woman/Diana Prince in the forthcoming reboot of the classic TV show, set to be aired on NBC.

Palicki has appeared in several other television shows, including Friday Night Lights,Supernatural, and Lone Star. She was also in last year’s film, Legion.

Apple is said to be working on a cheaper iPhone model

Apple Inc. is working on new versions of the iPhone that are aimed at slowing the advance of competing handsets based on Google Inc.’s Android software, according to people who have been briefed on the plans.

One version would be cheaper and smaller than the most recent iPhone, said a person who has seen a prototype and asked not to be identified because the plans haven’t been made public.

Apple also is developing technology that makes it easier to use the iPhone on multiple wireless networks, two people said.

Free Internet for the World?

If ahumanright.org has it's way, then free worldwide internet access may not be so far away. The charity plans to buy the world's most capable communication satellite from Terrestar, a communication company that recently filed for bankruptcy.

While a single satellite would not be able to provide Internet access to the entire world, it is a first and huge step in the right direction. ahumanright.org's ultimate goal is to set up a worldwide network that allows everyone to have basic internet access.

Spidey joins the Fantastic Four!

Since the Jonathan Hickman, the current writer of the Fantastic Four comics decided to kill off the Human Torch, many a comic book geek wondered who would fill his smoldering shoes.

Well wonder no more, because it has been announced that none other than Spider-Man would team up with the remaining fantastic three under a new team name: The Future Foundation.

The first issue of the new comic drops March 23rd.
