It is said that every end is a new beginning. And while we all know the Second World War ended in 1945, Panzer Corps 2 is making the unprecedented leap to continue the Axis Operations with one final, grand installment:

Axis Operations 1946: Amerika

Using the ahistorical campaign path established in previous DLC as a springboard, Axis Operations 1946 offers players an absolutely massive and completely original campaign to explore a joint German-Japanese invasion of the United States.

Prepare your Wehrmacht invasion forces for their final battles to take on the mighty United States in a huge, 30 scenario campaign that will take your armies from coast to coast across the Continental US.

To properly tell this original story, we have even taken the special measure to bring on an American Historical Specialist to give this campaign a true air of historical context and authenticity!

An Original Campaign Experience for New and Veteran Players Alike

While the lore of the events leading up to this Axis invasion of the United States is steeped in the previous campaigns of the Axis Operations series, 1946 has been specially designed to welcome all players to enjoy.

To facilitate this, Axis Operations 1946 has a new, tiered objective system present in practically every scenario of the campaign.

Primary Objectives:
These are the traditional bread and butter objectives that fans of the Panzer General series have come to know and love. Battle for territory control as you advance your armies across the United States.

These objectives are required for campaign progression, and are designed to be manageable for all players.

Bonus Objectives:
Different from previous Axis Operations bonus objectives, 1946 bonus objectives are locations that are off the beaten path. Players looking to scour for extra prestige resources will find abundant bonus objectives to pursue to make sure their Panzer Corps is well maintenanced and ready for combat.

All bonus objectives are purely optional.

Elite Objectives:
These objectives are designed to be tackled by veteran players with deeply imported CORE forces. Expect to see brutal enemy hero combinations, massively overstrengthed enemies, and potentially much worse…

CONTINUE WITH YOUR OWN PANZER CORPS

Players can import their core forces that completed the previous Axis Operations 1945 East campaign or use a preset core force to directly launch into the Axis Operations 1946 Amerika campaign.

While imported forces can seek additional growth and challenges through increased difficulty settings, advanced game modes, and new elite objectives, the preset force contains a moderate amount of experienced units and an assortment of heroes enough to allow any player to succeed in this new campaign.

THE END OF THE AXIS OPERATIONS

1946 will be the final installment of the Axis Operations series. This is the climatic ending players have been building towards ever since the Axis Operations took its first timid steps into ahistorical campaigning!

Any campaign of the Axis Operations can be played individually as a standalone campaign.

The Drukhari are an ancient race that fell into degeneracy and depravity, with their remnants only surviving in immense Webway cities. Though they have suppressed the psychic power of their Aeldari kin, they have replaced it with preternatural agility and rapacious cruelty. Their lighting raids from the Webway carry off wealth and captives to dark Commorragh where they suffer intensely throughout their short lives…

Gameplay Mechanics

Power from Pain: As pain spreads across the battlefield, Drukhari are invigorated, thriving from the suffering. Their units gain additional bonuses depending on their experience level.
Corsair Outposts: The Drukhari rarely venture outside the webway, save to loot realspace resources. Their cities have a reduced growth rate, but it can be improved by controlling more outposts.
Raid from the Webway: The Drukhari strike swiftly from the webway, before vanishing with their plunder. Pay influence to create temporary portals and activate webway gates to move your raiding party across the map.
Raider Fortress: The Aeldari and Drukhari are forever battling over their access to the webway. Found cities on activated webway gates from which you can unleash your forces on Gladius Prime.
Soul Hunger: The souls harvested by the Drukhari are an invaluable resource used for their malevolent schemes. Destroying an enemy unit rewards you with influence that can be traded for economic boosts and combat effects.
Combat Drugs: The Drukhari’s foul Haemonculi render down some captives into powerful stimulants. Infantry units can pay with influence and hitpoints for temporary buffs that allow them to outperform their opponents.
Betrayal Culture: Drukhari are a vicious race, and only a huge display of riches will convince them to serve—as long as it also serves their interests. Drukhari cities have lower loyalty but gathering influence grants more loyalty.
Blade Artists: Blades have an omnipresent place in Drukhari culture, and each commorrite learns this from a young age. Drukhari units get bonus armour penetration in melee.
Raiders tactics: When attacking a new prey world, the Drukhari attack en masse from their specially designed vehicles to land troops as close as possible to the fighting. Drukhari transports are all assault transports and Drukhari infantry units can gain combat bonuses when disembarking.

Version 5.0

Earth has been destroyed, and humanity must find a way to survive. Star Explorers grants players a tremendous amount of freedom and agency in how to approach the game without holding your hand, but with freedom comes responsibility and consequences. Take risks and reap the rewards in your efforts to find a new home for the human race in this open world space exploration game.

Planets

Planets are formed randomly, but their conditions are based on somewhat scientific factors. The size and temperature of the star they orbit, their distance from that star, the type of surface, atmosphere, and liquids present (or not) determine how a planet will look once landed on. Players will be able to land, depart and return to planets, exploring their surfaces as well as underground cave systems repeatedly, while keeping the same features intact on each visit.

Exploration

Fuel, ammunition and oxygen will all have to be carefully managed if the player wants to survive the long search for an earth-like planet. While many planets will be too hot or cold, or without an atmosphere, there are also worlds of liquid methane, ammonia, sulphuric acid and more, that have developed their own unique evolutionary cycles. Each kind of alien plant, tree or animal is pieced together randomly, making for a unique experience for each player.

The Star Explorers universe is not a friendly one though, it can be cruel and indifferent to the struggles of its inhabitants. If you’re not careful, you might land on a planet that’s just too hot, or too cold, or enveloped in a cloud of corrosive acid, and not live to tell about it. Upgrading your space suit will open these otherwise impossible worlds to further exploration.

Inventory, Upgrading and Crafting

Exploration will allow the player to discover many things, including tools and resources that will help in further exploration. Among these are raw materials, weapons, armor upgrades and blueprints that allow you to craft helpful items. Armor upgrades will increase your space suit’s resistance to heat, cold and other environmental hazards. Some weapons allow you to access areas that may be closed off to less experienced adventurers.

Caves and Ancient Ruins

Star Explorers may be the first interstellar dungeon crawler. Traversing the dark, hidden places and caves is necessary to find the resources required to complete the game. Discover the crumbling remains of an ancient culture and learn the secrets of its mysterious people. In Star Explorers, exploration and investigation are rewarded with special items and locations that many players may never find. If you are someone who likes to look around every corner, then this is the game for you.

Generative Design

Almost everything in Star Explorers is produced generatively. From the locations of stars and nebulae, to the surfaces of planets and their features, every location is different, and every play-through offers unique challenges. Even the music heard in game is generated in real time, and is based purely on the parameters of the player’s environment. Each planet, cave and other location has a unique sound-track.

The Future of Star Explorers

Star Explorers is still in development. You can see update announcements here on the store page, and in the community hub. A version 6.0 has not officially been announced yet. However, minor updates and tweaks still happen fairly regularly.
