IDW Games has launched a massive Kickstarter campaign to bring the King of the Monsters to the tabletop. Godzilla: The Roleplaying Game is a new, official card-based survival game set in the publisher’s comic-inspired Kai-Sei Era. The project has already smashed its initial funding target, raising over £100,000 to bring the 300-page hardcover rulebook and its miniatures to print.

Set decades after Godzilla’s first appearance in 1954, humanity has been forced to adapt to a reality where colossal beasts constantly threaten land, sea, and sky. Players take on the roles of the boots on the ground, undertaking high-stakes missions to ensure humanity survives another sunrise.

Rather than relying on traditional polyhedral dice, the game engine uses a standard deck of 52 playing cards. Player characters are defined by four core stats: Constitution, Mindfulness, Intelligence, and Strength. When facing challenges, players draw a target number of cards, aiming to hit specific suits or values to succeed.

The game is designed to be highly cinematic, driven by a persistent “Crisis Clock” that ticks away in the background. Drawing Joker cards advances this clock, steadily escalating the danger and drawing the attention of the kaiju themselves.

These rings help DMs track identical monsters during combat with simple callouts like Orc #5 or Zombie #2, and they stack together with the condition rings you featured before.”

For Dungeon Masters running “horde” encounters, where 30 orcs might be represented by a single miniature for space reasons, the rings can also be used to track initiative order. We all want to be loved, and have even probably wished for it to happen with someone we have feelings for… but never quite in this way. Focus Features has just dropped an insanely heavy first trailer for supernatural horror movie Obsession, which takes love wishes to an uncomfortable extreme.

Having premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival 2025 – and coming runner up for the People’s Choice Award – Obsession certainly made its mark on audiences with a 97% Tomatometer score, and now it’s your turn when it’s released in cinemas on the 15th May.

The story begins when Bear, played by Michael Johnston, decides his naturally developing relationship with his best friend Nikki (Inde Navarrette) needs to be helped along, and when he finds a mysterious novelty item called a ‘One Wish Willow’ he wishes Nikki would love him “more than anything in the world”. After that, it takes a sinister turn to say the least.

According to the official synopsis:

After breaking the mysterious ‘One Wish Willow’ to win his crush’s heart, a hopeless romantic finds himself getting exactly what he asked for but soon discovers that some desires come at a dark, sinister price.

The company intends to redesign how it utilises the latest generation of spatial technology, focusing short-term efforts on game infrastructure and global operations while the core mapping tools undergo a fundamental overhaul.

This strategic pivot arrives exactly one year after Niantic shocked the industry by selling the majority of its gaming business, including the global phenomenon Pokémon GO, to Scopely. Crucially, the company chose to keep Ingress in-house. While the move was initially viewed through the lens of nostalgia, the subsequent formation of Niantic Spatial revealed a more clinical motive: Ingress is no longer just an AR capture-the-flag game; it is the primary sensor array for a pioneer in geospatial AI.

The features being “paused” or “retired” are the most overtly geospatial elements of the Ingress experience. OPR requires players to identify and verify real-world locations, while Overclocking involves the physical scanning of landmarks to create a 3D spatial mesh. For the dedicated community, this pause is likely the precursor to a relaunch that will cement Ingress as a challenger for the title of the world’s most sophisticated interface for real-world intelligence gathering.

Sneak Energy, the Manchester-based caffeine disruptor, has announced a formal collaboration with Marvel Television to celebrate the upcoming second season of Daredevil: Born Again. The partnership introduces two limited-edition products: a returning Black Cherry & Vanilla energy tub and a new Strawberry Punch can, both designed to coincide with the show’s premiere on Disney+ on 25 March.

The collaboration marks a significant milestone in the brand’s evolution from a scrappy direct-to-consumer start-up to a global player capable of securing Disney-tier intellectual property. The product lineup itself offers a thematic nod to this transition. The Black Cherry & Vanilla flavour is “Born Again”, a returning fan favourite, but it is being released in a 20-serving tub.
