Secondly, let me come to the part of this article where a share a personal experience, or the experience of my friend rather.

My friend bought the Sony Xperia Z about a week back. Probably due to the extensive marketing from Sony about toughness of this phone, his mind did not think twice to put a phone and a watch in the same pocket.Here is what happened.

If this phone cant handle a few minutes in the pocket with a watch, why is it marketed to have really tough glass and scratch proof metal?

This is not the worst part. When contacted, Sony said it was not their fault and the warranty does not cover the damage that has occurred. They say the glass on the Sony Xperia Z is not replaceable and hence a new device needs to be bought and Sony "generously" offered a 20% discount on a new phone.Great customer service indeed.

I have seen an iPhone drop from the pocket of a person riding a bike and still operate even while the glass was heavily scratched and the repair cost for the iPhone was only 6000 RS for heavy damage, but this small scratch cannot seem to be repaired.

The phone does not work anymore, hopefully Sony will see this case and issue a replacement to the owner of the damaged smartphone and solve this problem.

To prospective buyers of this phone, I can only tell you that it is a risk buying the Sony Xperia Z, because Sony is offering very poor after sales service, if something did go wrong with your phone, you may be left hanging by Sony.

As a review website, I must say that this may be a one off case, hopefully others have not faced the same problems with the Sony Xperia Z. Please leave your comments below.

Before Rooting Your LG Optimus 4X HD P880

Make sure that you have a back up of all your files on your LG Optimus 4X HD P880.Make sure that you have moved all your pictures, videos, music to your SD card.

Make sure you have a back up of all your online stuff such as GMail etc.

Sync your contacts with the in-built GMail Application on your LG Optimus 4X HD P880 before rooting.

APN Settings – Settings > Wireless & Networks > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names

Enable USB DeBugging option which can be easily found in the "Developers Options"

Make sure that you have charged your battery to 100% as rooting your LG Optimus 4X HD will take up a lot of battery life and the LG Optimus 4X HD is as it is not great with battery life.

Disable all Anti-Virus on your Desktop PC or Laptop as well as your LG Optimus 4X HD.

How To Root LG Optimus 4X HD P880?

Install the official LG USB Drivers from here, install on your computer.
Download this kit which is very useful for rooting your LG Optimus 4X HD.
Extract the root kit which you just downloaded and move the folder to “C:\04xr”
Download the System Backup Test apk
Make sure that you have enabled Mass Storage mode in your LG Optimus 4x HD P880 and connect your LG Optimus 4x HD to your PC using the USB chord provided by LG when you bought the phone and transfer the file to your Micro SD card.
Disconnect your phone from the computer. Then use some file manager downloaded from the Google Play Store to install the downloaded apk. Let this option be selected before doing that “Settings > Applications” and Unknown sources option is selected.
Open the application that you just installed in the previous step.
Restart Your LG Optimus 4X HD.
Now you connect the phone to PC by USB cable with the option - "Charge Only"
Open the command prompt by right clicking and clicking on the "Administrative Access"
Type the following - cd C:\o4xr - then press enter.
After typing the previous step, type - root - and press enter.
Wait for the rooting process of your LG Optimus 4x HD to be completed.
If the rooting of your LG Optimus 4x HD P880 was succesfully completed, you should see a text which says - C:\o4xr>.
Your LG Optimus 4x HD P880 gets rebooted automatically.
Remove the USB from the charging mode on your PC.
Do not open the Back Up Test App but uninstall it.
Open the Google Play Store and Search for “Super SU” and update/Install the application to your LG Optimus 4x HD P880 and then open it.
Update SU binaries.
Check if your LG Optimus 4x HD P880 is really rooted or not by using some Root Checking Apps on the Play Store available for free.
