This plan outlines a roadmap for achieving the global vision of a world living in harmony with nature by 2050. The main objectives of the GBF include 23 targets, including restoring and conserving at least 30% of the planet’s land and sea areas by 2030 and preventing the extinction of species caused by human activities. One of the key issues at COP16 is mobilizing financial resources to protect global ecosystems. The goal of raising USD 200 billion annually by 2030 necessitates the development of a global funding mechanism, increased cooperation with the private sector, the development of biodiversity credits, and the promotion of innovative financial models involving multilateral development banks. In the face of growing environmental threats, global cooperation is essential to ensure a sustainable future for Vietnam and the world. As a member of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), Vietnam has demonstrated its commitment to international efforts to conserve nature and biodiversity. With its rich and diverse biological resources, Vietnam has been at the forefront of achieving the goals of the KMGBF, through the approval of the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan to 2030 with a vision to 2050, in 2022.
