I usually give good rating to every movie I watch but once in a while I come across a movie which is really bad. Killers is one such bad movie. I was expecting this movie to be really funny after all Ashton Kutcher is the lead actor. But I was wrong and I was very disappointed with the movie. Spencer (Ashton Kutcher) is a spy and he kills people for a living and he is good at it. In Nice, France he falls in love with Jen (Katherine Heigl) who has a normal life. Spencer walks out of the job and marries Jen. They are now settled and have been living in a nice and quiet neighbourhood for three years.
One morning after a party every neighbour is trying to kill Ashton. The story gets very ridiculous here. The quite neighbours who have never seen a gun are now using military grade weapons to kill Spencer on whose head there is a bounty of 10 million dollars. Even when a sub machine gun is fitted in a quiet neighbourhood not even a cop responds. Ashton is killing his neighbours who are trying to kill him to get 10 million dollars; the bodies are all over the place still no cops. Killers is a silly, stupid movie. It is not worth your time. I’d give the movie 2/5 because both Ashton and Katherine look really hot.

Duh… HP has invested around 1.2 billion in WebOS so it isn’t much of a surprise that they are focusing on WebOS but it is a surprise that they will not be making any Windows Phone 7 device. This is bad news for Windows Phone 7 because they do need device makers. And HP was supposed to built a Tablet based on Windows 7 – that too is no longer happening as HP is making a WebOS based tablet.

here is what Todd Bradley, HP Personal Systems Group VP had to say about it -

Q: Can you make webOS successful with developers when you’re selling Windows Phone 7, maybe Android or Linux at the same time?
A: We continue to be Microsoft’s biggest customer, and we continue to believe we will drive innovation with Microsoft. At the same time, I think it’s clear to say, that we’re very focused on the customer, and giving the customer the experience that’s important to them. We won’t do — will not do a Linux / Android phone. We won’t do a Microsoft phone.

Q: So no Windows Phone 7?
A: We will continue to more broadly deliver the webOS-based phones that are in the market today, and Jon and his team have driven a strong roadmap for the future.

Q: So does that mean you’re going webOS only for phones?
A: For smartphones it does. Our intent is to focus those resources and really make webOS the best OS it can be.

Right behind Kindle app for android, Barnes and Noble have made nook for android… and it offers features like eBook lending and eBook sync across devices similar to Wispersync in Kindle.

Reading books on mobile device seems logical to me…. mobile device is always with us no matter where we go, I don’t have to carry around physical book and I can read books in the dead of the night without putting on a light because mobile devices have a backlight screen and no it does not put any strain on my eyes cause I can adjust the screen brightness and color of the page so that it is light on the eye.

Android is mocking me with these apps… they are very useful for me but they are not available for symbian. Time to switch to android???

Windows 7 is no doubt a really awesome operating system… it’s faster, sleeker, looks cool and is productive also. Windows 7 is the best Windows operating system yet. And apparently people too have realised it. Microsoft has reported in their quarterly report that Windows 7 has hit 175 million licenses sold which means they are selling more than seven copies of Windows 7 per second and 20 million copies per month. The figures are very encouraging and impressive considering that it’s only nine months since Windows 7 was released. As of today – Windows 7 is now running on more than 16% of all PCs worldwide.

This is not going to slow down anytime soon because most of the companies are still waiting for Windows 7 Service Pack 1 before they upgrade to Windows 7 which is further going to increase these sales figures.

This figures clearly say that Microsoft and Windows is still in the game and are not planning to go anywhere for a long time.

Google is not satisfied with the speed at with it’s browser Chrome is being updated now… so it is further increasing the speed of at with Chrome would be updated. Google is going to release a stable version of chrome every six week. With this the version numbers and features that every version would get insignificant.

Google has given various reasons for this update –

• Shorten the release cycle and still get great features in front of users when they are ready
• Make the schedule more predictable and easier to scope
• Reduce the pressure on engineering to “make” a release

Under the old model, when we faced a deadline with an incomplete feature, we had three options, all undesirable: (1) Engineers had to rush or work overtime to complete the feature by the deadline, (2) We delayed the release to complete that feature (which affected other un-related features), or (3) The feature was disabled and had to wait approximately 3 months for the next release. With the new schedule, if a given feature is not complete, it will simply ride on the the next release train when it’s ready. Since those trains come quickly and regularly (every six weeks), there is less stress.

So is this a good think or not?? I don’t think so… Google could always release minor updates as necessary like Firefox does – 3.0.1 to 3.0.2 — instead of jumping from version 4 to 5 to 6 without any major changes or added features.

This is entirely different from what other browsers or software do… Google has asked not to read too much into the pace of version number changes…. people do care about version numbers.

Somewhere around next year you would most probably be using Google Chrome version 20 or version 25 ;D

I wasn’t expecting this to be a very good movie but I was wrong. This movie is based on Audrey Niffenegger’s 2003 novel of the same name. It’s a love story, it has a scientific element in it and it also shows the strain which is caused by distance in relationship.

[Spoiler Alert : skip the next two paragraph]

Henry has a genetic disorder because of which he time travels but he does not have any control over it. He doesn’t know when he’ll be travelling or where he will be arriving. He is naked when he arrives back in time or in the future. He steals cloths form the first person he meets and money form someone and waits to travel back into the present. In these travels he meets his mother and Clare, who is his future wife.

Henry first meets Clare when she was a child and Clare is madly in love with him since then…. In the present Henry proposes her and she agrees to marry him but he again time travels and Henry from the future attends the wedding again the Henry form future time travels leaving Clare alone on the wedding night…….. the unannounced time travelling creates a strain in their relationship but they love each other very much for it to cause any real problem. Clare miscarries two times leading to the suspicion if the baby is also has the time travelling genetic disorder. The third time the baby is born and they name her Alba. Henry come to know form his daughter Alba who is also a time traveller but has control over where she goes that he is going to die when she is turns 5.

Eric Bana does brilliant acting and he keeps the story emotionally tense throughout. The chemistery between Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams is great and worth watching. Even the supporting artists have played their part well.

The movie’s picturesque cinematography, the well put together story and the brilliant acting makes every second of the movie enjoyable. You hope that Henry finds some way to survive….. The movie has a bittersweet ending but then every movie cannot have a happy ever after ending.
