Release of GermaniumWeb API 1.3 and Plugin 1.29

We're very excited to announce the release of API 1.3 and plugin 1.29. This release contains a boatload of new features, which are fully listed in the API and plugin release notes. Some highlights are:

For plugin users: Enjoy an improved visual experience, with the ability to turn on cool animated fading (Right click > Settings > Display); and significantly improved performance, especially when gliding through the scene.

For API users: Make more complex placemark shapes with polygons and line strings. Show a cross-section of your building with a clip plane. Navigate the BBL more easily with the level cursor. Let your users explore your buildings on foot with the first-person navigation mode.

We'll be releasing tutorials on the new features soon, so stay tuned. In the meantime, you can read the API documentation and try them out immediately by targetting the new API: <script src="http://api.germanium3d.com/?v=1.3 ...>.

G Element signs MOC with Singapore Polytechnic

Singapore - G Element has signed a Memorandum of Co-operation with Singapore Polytechnic and the Centre for Experience Design to collaborate on research and development in the area of sensor networks for 3D digital buildings.

The R&D collaboration leverages on G Element's web-based 3D in-building platform GermaniumWeb to scope, design and implement sensor-based projects. The projects will be jointly developed at the Co-Space Living Lab, located within Innovillage@SP, Singapore Polytechnic.
