I'm sorry....

I've been neglecting you all :(

Its half term here in the UK and so Elli is home,

my part time jobs hours are up!

and I've not been well ~ seriously I have felt really not myself.

The doctor put me on two types of antibiotics which in itself is messing with my system.

I feel like I have been swilling my mouth out with chemicals *nasty

and generally well I feel urghh!!

{and yes I have still been working ~ needs must ~ no work no pay}

I have just had a call from the hospital telling me a scan appointment is in the post ~ sometimes the wait is horrendous :?

Anyway I wanted to say I will be back with a vengeance I promise!

In the meantime I have been playing with copper and silver today (first day in the studio for a week!)

I'm now exhausted and need to sit down ;)

Where did January go??

Oh my, this year is speeding along already

Although I have to admit ~ I for one ~ am dreaming of warmer days ...

Sunglasses, dainty sandals, painted toes...

I have no idea why but hey my muse obviously wanted to play with them.

Fun in the Sand

A weekend without a care!

No working for me ~ { a much needed break from the other job}

So we took to the North coast of Cornwall~

Rugged, wild and so

We ran wild!!

I love the sand dunes here!

Its that time of year again when the aisles in the supermarkets are filled with hearts, flowers and chocolates

Its something although am totally still in love with my man ~ usually avoid at all costs.

But I do create with hearts, its a beautiful shape and can mean so many things.

Of course I still think the most romantic part of Valentines Day, for me anyhow, was receiving a card from someone totally unknown. The practice when I was just a teenager was to give cards unsigned, declaring your love or infatuation, has it changed??

One year , when the post was delivered before school,, I remember both my sister and I recieving unsigned cards ~ still to this day I have no clue who sent them. We had ideas, or hopes I suppose but no one ever owned up *le sigh.... remember the butterflies in the tummy ~ it was sooo romantic ♥

I actually got some time in the studio!

I have a ton of other things to do but I ~~needed~~ REALLY needed to create something..

I had pieces from before Christmas to finish

and once I got in there and going...

Oh BOY!!

Clutching pieces ready for filing.... and embossing

End of day!

and I managed to photograph this gorgeous piece I made before Christmas for a lovely friend..

The stone was chosen by the friend ~ I'm not great at taking on stones bought or chosen by others but I knew this one would be fab ~ my friend has excellent taste ~ and it was slightly outside the box being pink ;)

{For those of you who haven't heard of Pinterest~ its like vitual scrapbooking in a way,

You add your favourite picture, recipes etc and add them to you BIG pinboard. Its highly addictive but great fun}

Anyone who knows me, knows I'm totally, and utterly in love with Labradorite..

It's one stone I almost panic if I don't have a ton of it to look at..

Finding great quality Labradorite is hard

I prefer mine dark with flashes of blue ~ strong flashes

{and the deeper or brighter the blue the better!}

This cabochon is to die for!

I'm no writer ~ I find is hard to write about what I am feeling ~ sometimes though baring ones soul is good, right?

Its been a hard few months for me design wise, I'm struggling with something ~ yes I have seen the dr....

Good days and bad days but still I keep going ..

I have medication which I don't know if it helps or hinders so I am going to wean myself off them AGAIN

{The dr is ok with this}

Last time is didn't help.

Nausea, fatigue, days when it feels every footstep is walking through jelly,

then, days when its like walking through treacle.

Days when the nausea is really bad...

Then good days when the world actually seems normal!!!

Drs thought it was vertigo, now they aren't so sure..

Maybe they think its all my head.

I've been there before ... that time ended well ....luckily.

On top of that my lovely Nan of 89 years young took a fall.

She ended up in hospital ~ sent back to her home.

Then ended back in there after a missed diagnosis.

An operation on Saturday to mend her broken bone.

She strong my lovely Nannie... strong of body that is.

She has Vascular Dementia ~ so she is a shell of what she once was.

We see glimmers of the wonderful lady she was.

Tiny moments of her old self...

Dementia is so difficult and scares me so much.

So forgive me for being slow showing you new pieces...

I have work waiting in the wings ~ bits and pieces ready to be finished..

then Christmas is swiftly upon us and I have a ton of things to get done before my daughter finished school {Tomorrow!!!}

I'm here though :}

In the Midnight Garden

I have a love affair with Moonstone ~ almost as much as labradorite..

The third picture manages to capture the beautiful flash this stone has ~ it was difficult she was a very shy stone! The butterfly is embossed and then ~ using the ancient technique of Keum Boo I fused 23ct gold leaf across the wings ~ almost like the moonlight hitting the butterfly as it fluttered around the garden .....although I have a feeling butterfly's sleep ;0) ...obviously this one is magical !!

Sorry they didn't materialise ~ I've been feeling a little lost at the moment ....

I sit in my studio and yes I can make up my custom orders but I feel restless..

I can't seem to get my muse to work with me..

Maybe its how quiet my shop has been ~ last year I was run off my feet ...

This year I am ticking over .... but only just and I realisehow much it does affect me..

I have been sketching but even that isn't helping..

I have silver, all ready to be worked on..

So what is going on??

Maybe my muse is on vacation ..

I'm loving Golden Rutile Quartz at the moment ~ this pendant inititally with a labradorite briolette hanging from the bottom ~ then I had a dream and it was the same bird with a golden rutile cabochon trailing from below. When I woke I knew I had to change it ... so I did!

Fly to the Sun

I'm not sure about this background as an alternative to the off white one I have been using..

The gold is fused onto the sterling silver using the ancient technique of Keum boo ~ it gets a little hot I can tell you but I love the effect on the dark patina of the silver.

Anyway my lovelies I will be listing this one later today.
